  1. My wish list for the 12th pick: Touki Toussaint Grant Holmes Michael Gettys Alex Jackson Luis Ortiz Possible guys for later picks: Monte Harrison Justus Sheffield
  2. Hey Colby what are the odds that Michael Gettys is available for the 12th pick?
  3. Well, when you get hot when it doesn't matter, become desperate to put up the illusion of competing to the point where you punt away a draft pick, draft lower ceiling guys in the hope of them reaching the majors sooner (never forget the 2011 draft), and gut the farm system in the name of competing, a crappy farm system is what you get. Oh, and wouldn't Carlos Rodon look great at the top of this list right now?
  4. Hey Colby, what are your thoughts on Dylan Cease? He seems to be an intriguing high school power arm.
  5. What do you mean??? This team can still compete! MOAR VETERANS!!!
  6. I really wonder why this team gets hot when it's useless, and tanks when it matters?
  7. Considering they just DFA'd him and that he's had a horrible season, probably not much.
  8. Oh dear. His shoulder's gonna be nonexistent in a few years.
  9. Assuming that the Brewers still have a top 5 pick in the next draft, if they were to go the college arm route, then I would like to see them pick Jeff Hoffman or Michael Cederoth. Both are flamethrowing guys who could sit atop the rotation. If they went the high school arm route I want them to pick Tyler Kolek. The dude's huge AND can hit triple digits. That would be really fun to watch.
  10. Then where would Roache be? I would love to an at-bat in which Roache is batting and Gomez, Taylor, and/or D'vo on the basepaths. I can imagine the pitcher being paranoid about stolen bases and then end up throwing a mistake pitch that Roache crushes. That would be what I would like to see.
  11. My favorites: Tyler Kolek, Touki Toussaint, and Michael Cederoth
  12. Tyrone Taylor seems to have cooled down in the month of July. Of course, though, he's young for the league and some slumps and inconsistencies are expected.
  13. Apparently Lohse can be a target for the A's http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/al-west-notes-athletics-rangers-astros.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook If the Brewers decide to send Lohse to the A's, perhaps they could get Sonny Gray and/or Michael Ynoa.
  14. Ha, maybe the Brewers should send Aoki to the Cards to get Martinez. :P
  15. With the Braun suspension and all the flak Braun is getting from this, I wonder if the Brewers FO will refuse to sell and make a big signing in the offseason for the sole reason that the fans would have someone to cheer for. Not because they necessarily think they could compete, but more for ticket sales.
  16. My view on this is this: In the end, no one wins. Braun gets suspended, the fans got lied to, and MLB went through a ridiculous witch hunt with questionable methods.
  17. Even though it's unlikely that Ramirez will net much, in terms of prospects the Red Sox have more to offer than the Yankees.
  18. So possibly 3 picks in the top 50. Not bad, not bad at all.
  19. Exactly. If St. Louis really wants something from Milwaukee, they better pony up.
  20. I'm honestly tired of the window of opportunity strategy. It's unsustainable and shortsighted.
  21. They lose. Because they underperform or because they blow saves. And some of them, some of them.... are awful. I suppose in the end, they break my heart. http://data.whicdn.com/images/31026625/dr-who-rain_large.gif
  22. Before discussing a trade with the Rangers, if I was Melvin I would be talking to the Indians first despite Gallardo's no trade clause. Getting at least one of Bauer or Salazar sounds nice. Perhaps the Brewers will be able to get both if they added another player or two with Gallardo.
  23. I wonder if the Padres would be interested in Lohse and a reliever. Asking for Fried may be a stretch but perhaps getting Ross would be possible.
  24. Well the last time I've heard a trade rumor about the Padres, they were looking for an arm. Maybe if Arizona declines the trade for Gallardo the Brewers could trade Gallardo to the Padres for at least one of Fried and Ross.
