  1. Jake Brentz is still on the board, right?
  2. TC07, which players do you want the Brewers to draft at this point, regardless of signability?
  3. I posted Perfect Game's scouting report on him in the previous page. According to videos he also seems to have clean mechanics. I think he has a chance to stick as a starter, possibly a mid-rotation starter.
  4. Hey, look at that! Oakland nabs Covey. Very interesting.
  5. According to the MLB guys he's more of a 7th inning guy. Classic money-saving pick.
  6. Scouting report on Taylor Williams, courtesy of Perfect Game: Seems like he has the stuff to be a mid-rotation starter, with the bullpen as a fallback option.
  7. So who do you guys think the Brewers will select with pick 122? Another low-ceilinged guy to save money? Or do they take a shot at another HS guy?
  8. In this case they have to sign the guy or they lose the money for the slot.
  9. You may have a point, but there really wasn't any good reason to sign Lohse. He wasn't going to get this team to the playoffs on his own.
  10. But guys, Lohse is the last missing piece to get the Brewers to the playoffs! Can't you see his gritty veteran-ness moving this team forward??? He's such a rotation anchor!
  11. I think it's most likely a money saving pick. Not surprising considering that their first two picks are high school guys.
  12. Haven't really heard of him much, although I haven't been following the draft very much this year, but if you got a guy with velocity, that's going to be of good value in the later rounds anyway. As for the third round, I wonder who the Brewers will pick. If they go "talent first, money later" then I think Brentz or Salazar could be possible. Otherwise they could go for a more conservative pick to save some money, especially after taking two high school players for their first two picks.
  13. I really hope the Brewers don't take guys like Ziomek or Windle.
  14. Ever getting closer to the Brewers' pick. Getting more terrified.
  15. I'm actually legitimately terrified of who the Brewers may pick. I'm just terrified that they may go with a quick fix with a "low-ceiling but quick to the majors" type of pitcher.
  16. Hey, I wonder why the Cards are looking good for the future... Maybe it's all the gritty veterans they sign to patch holes!
  17. But knowing the Cards, they'll turn Gonzalez into the next Tom Glavine
  18. Stanford tends to emphasize contact hitting over power hitting, so they adjust the hitting styles of their hitters as such.
  19. I wonder if Austin Wilson will fall to the Brewers' pick.
  20. Ha, my prom was almost the exact opposite. Went there and a pretty girl in my stat class asked me to dance with her.
  21. IMO Segura is much better than Hardy as of right now. Sure, Hardy has more pop with the bat, but he's getting older would probably get expensive. Segura provides great defense at a premium position, provides good enough bat, is young, and is still cheap. And there's little chance the Brewers could've come up with a better package for Greinke. Why would anyone give up a premium pitching prospect for a half-season rental?
  22. Basically, there's a reason why those procedures are in place, so that results are guaranteed to be legitimate, or as close to legitimate as possible. Lots of things can go wrong when procedures aren't followed word for word.
  23. Well, if we don't trade Hardy, we don't get Gomez. Gomez provides quality defense at centerfield and his bat is finally coming around. We also managed to get Segura at SS so Hardy would've become obsolete anyway. No Marcum, no Greinke. No Greinke, no Segura, Pena, and Hellweg.
  24. Possible players: HS: Blake Taylor Jake Brentz Carlos Salazar Matt Krook A.J Puk Cord Sandberg Devin Williams Casey Shane Matthew McPhearson Ryan McMahon Clinton Hollon Keegan Thompson Drew Ward Dustin Peterson College: Michael Lorenzen Tom Windle Kevin Ziomek Jason Hursh Buck Farmer Dillon Overton My guess: 54: Jake Brentz 72: Carlos Salazar 90: Buck Farmer
  25. But why would Melvin trade within the division? In fact, not many trades happen within divisions, at least to my knowledge.
