  1. Albers to DL with a convenient left hamstring injury,of some sort Brewers Physician: "Matt, I noticed you are walking a little funny, does your left hamstring bother you... Now, before you answer that take into account the following... If you say 'yes' the team will place you on the DL... If you say 'no', my assistant here with the big bat will do a new type of physical therapy on your leg then you'll go on the DL... So Matt, What do you think?" Albers: "yes, absolutely, my left hamstring is hurting bad and I will need a DL trip..."
  2. The Brewers missed the playoffs by 1 game last year... Given the makeup of the Sunday surrender lineups, I would think that Counsel is directly responsible for the team missing the playoffs... If CC had any creativity with getting players time off we might actually be in 1st place ahead of the cubs instead of sniffing their butt....
  3. It hasn't worked out, yet, because Moustakas has been = brewers 2B and Schoop has been = Arcia. So we haven't seen an upgrade in production. I would bet that Moustakas ends up hitting better than our previous 2B options and Schoop will outhit Arcia (who can't?)... We aren't really worse off (I don't care about the money at this point as it only means the owners take home 20% return this year instead of 25%) and we should be in better shape when both of them adjust to the NL...
  4. Thank God we have Darnell Coles to work with the players to help them get back on track.... Look at Arcia, .482 OPS when we was called back up and 0.488 OPS today... That .006 is HUGE and if he keeps it up, sometime in late 2019 he'll be at replacement level.... Our Badger Mutual coach of the game, Darnell Coles....
  5. I've had just about enough of Story. I get pitching around Arenado, but my first thought was 'well it will be a 3 run HR by story instead of 2'.... I take full blame for that...
  6. Padres are up 4-0 on the Cubs... So they've got to 4 runs, what are the chances the Cubs score 5 to win, again, 5-4?
  7. Everybody seems to like Brent Suter. Nope. There's one uber fan and a bunch of he's not bad fans here, and a ton of we need a better option than Suter... Nothing in that statement is close to being true...
  8. Do you think Wade Miley was never a good pitcher? Miley has had substantial success in the past so taking a chance on tweaking something to get him back to respectable isn't a stretch... Chances are much less that Lyles has anything they can "tweak" as he is pretty bad as a starter and he's been replacement level as a RP...
  9. Pretty sure they can only negotiate with 1 team. I was googled again.... found a site that said they could negotiate with any of the claiming teams, but when looking at fangraphs and MLB it still goes in order of claim... Lyles offers next to nothing beyond what we already have in the system so I don't understand the move...
  10. They're revocable waivers. If more than 1 team claims the player, the team can negotiate with ANY team for a trade, not the worst record. Looks like from the Tweet that they are just letting the players go ...
  11. Maybe they thought they were claiming Tyson Ross and the person in the Brewers office that made the claim thought you spell Ross, L-Y-L-E-S.... Ughh... They should have been all over Tyson Ross and pass, pass, pass on Lyles... He's sucked every year except for this year and that is probably just the Petco effect...
  12. Yup! And when he finds out they don’t...too late. That is why they said it. I would contact the Real Estate Agents (buyer and seller) and make them aware of the situation (officially) and provide them with the quote for the repairs. If they don't pass it along to the escrow company they will be liable for any damages and Real Estate companies have "deep" pockets so they will jump to make sure the money is in escrow. The buyers agent will be all over this... Louis, I would recommend getting a quote for the plaster/ceiling repair as it currently stands and a worse case scenario if the damage spreads... Pass that to the HOA and let them decide on whether they want to cover the additional expense by letting the repairs go. It's too late, but an HOA that doesn't have reserves for a roof repair is pretty scary as that means it is WAY under funded. It sounds like there may be a fairly high turnover rate for the units so many owners don't want a high monthly fee to create a decent reserve. You can also suggest to other owners that their property value will be affected if potential buyers learn of the underfunding of the HOA. Edit: Escrow companies are super conservative. They will likely hold 2-3 times the repair cost, maybe more, in escrow to cover the repairs in case the costs escalate so don't be afraid to get involved with making sure the agents know about the situation as things get exponentially more complicated if the sale goes through and there's no money in escrow... the costs will escalate as multiple parties will get lawyers...
  13. Lost in all the discussion of whether Schoop is better than Villar is the over-riding data that Villar was in Counsell's doghouse.... So you can throw out all the data... CC wanted a replacement and this was the best Stearns could do with the caveat that we have a 2B for 2019 so that Hiura can be brought along reasonably and not on an ultra-fast timeline... Doesn't matter what Villar does for the rest of the year or next... He wasn't getting playing time while a Brewer, especially with the addition of Moustakis, so there's no point of comparing the 2 players...
  14. You might need to add a few more baserunners... Jennings is pitching the top of the 9th..
  15. If we could only get 3 walks and 2 infield singles we might score a run... I'm assuming 1 of the BB gets picked off because it's a Brewer thing to do...
  16. [mark]I have a strangely good feeling about the next two innings, but please don’t mark my words.[/mark] done...
  17. Something about the last shall be first and the first shall be last?
  18. Santana is actually hitting pretty well in AAA right now though, whatever that is worth. Unfortunately, Colorado Springs hitting means nothing (worse than nothing) and I can't wait for the Brewers to get out of that ********... If they want to see improvement send them to AA where pitches actually break...
  19. I'm too busy to look it up, but has any other organization had 3 players (in a year or 2) have breakout years then perform WORSE the next year than before the breakout. Arcia, Santana and Villar have all had a year after their breakout that was worse than the year before the breakout... Sure, there's often regression after a big year, but to be worse than before the breakout is just mind boggling...
  20. Sorry I was comparing him to Yelich... Thames has good OBP, but his power is better so he shouldn't bat 1st because it's the same thing - solo HR and nothing else. Yelich just crushed his 17th HR and I wonder if more than 90% were solo.... just seems that way.
  21. There's never anyone on no matter where he hits so does it really matter? Cain has a very good OBP, but minimal power... That's one. I might be able to think of a second....
  22. It's great having Yelich on a tear then batting him 1st so there's never anyone on when he hits....
