  1. The only downside to Yelich is that he appears to not take instruction as he hasn't picked up the Brewers trademark of swinging from the heals on every pitch trying to hit a 3 run HR with the bases empty...
  2. They have just hidden the fact by being super amazing at coming back late which it seems like they are doing every single night lately. Team______RS____RA___Diff Brewers___457___413___44 Cubs______518___415__103 A simple look at run differential shows there's nothing lucky about the fact the Cubs are ahead of us... In fact, you could argue with their run differential they are unlucky... And as much as the narrative on BF.net that the Brewers bullpen is lights out and the Cubs SP is worse than the Brewers, both teams are very close in number of runs allowed (within 15 once the 3 GP difference is taken into account)...
  3. Never let facts get in the way of a good argument. I mean, the post literally right before yours points out his FIP as a horrendous 5.20. I never let small samples influence how I evaluate a player because that would be just stupid...
  4. Trade deadline passed already? How did that Santana trade go... oh wait, that never happened... How many billion times we we assured that he would make a deal? Sure, 4 more days to trade for Matt Harvey... or add another RP... we can wait just like we waited for the trade of Santana... Stearns needs to figure out the complexities of dealing because adding another RP when you haven't done anything else or have another deal ready to go down then you just wasted a prospect for a rental of another RP who can't hit and play C/SS/2B... Once he acquired Yelich and Cain, other GMs knew he had to jettison Santana and they modified their offers... He needs to start working the chess board and stop playing checkers... And before everyone piles on I do think he's done an excellent job so far, but his shortcomings dealing with a fluid market/environment were clear at the last trade deadline, this offseason, and it's not looking good now...
  5. The Cubs offense is so much better than the Brewers that any slight improvement in their pitching makes them that much better... To date the Cubs score 1 more run a game then they allow, the Brewers score 0.4 runs a game more than they allow. Over 57-60 games that will make a huge difference in why the Cubs coast to another division win and the Brewers will hope to make the wild card play-in game... Anyone not thinking this move doesn't make the Cubs better has their head in the sand...
  6. All of Hader, Jeffress, Knebel, and Soria can be used as "closers". Why does one particular player need to be designated to retire the last 3 batters of any game? Because it says so in the Managers book that Counsell bought when he was hired...
  7. It was easy to see how he had success in CS... Any pitch with movement he flailed at, anything that was straight he got some wood on it... Nothing that any of us could do (or that 12 YO could do) at bat... Is our SS better than a Little Leaguer?
  8. If the Brewers are serious about fixing Arcia they should send him to Biloxi where pitches actually break....
  9. McCutchen trying to show Votto how to popup a ball...
  10. So we can expect a trade for Fullmer and another for Stroman the next few days?
  11. Which is fastest to second on a hit, Kratz or 1st base...
  12. Wade, that buzzing sound you hear after the crack of the bat is a liner passing your head... just throw up your glove next time, no need to react...
  13. I have an idea for a new game or reality show - Is your SS better than a little leaguer?... I'm sure Orlando would be a perfect fit for the lead role..
  14. I was being sarcastic, but sometimes I forget the blue
  15. Do we have to have data, facts and stats in every IGT... Can't we just have delusional fandom for 1 day...
  16. I wonder every time another teams #8 hitter gets a hit, why can't the Brewers find a hitter who can bat 8th...
  17. Why all the angst about Miley... He has to put runners on base to induce Double Plays, otherwise it would just be a ground out...
  18. They take on 10 million dollars, so they likely give up scraps in return prospect wise. MLBTradeRumors is reporting the Cubs are only assuming $4M of the $14M owed to Hamels... Second year in a row the Cubs add a SP at the trade deadline and the Brewers add RP... Worked well in 2017... for the CUBS!
  19. Moses had 10 plagues, but Stearns only has Arcia...
  20. I guess the Brewers brass prefer the week grounders from Arcia that rarely turn into DP than the well-hit grounders from Saladino that often end up in DP (when they are stopped)...
  21. So now we can lose more games 1-0 instead of 2-0... We still need HELP for our dysfunctional offense...
  22. I don't know if the Brewers will have enough money after they sign Bryce Harper, Manny Machado and Clayton Kerswhaw....
