  1. To clarify Wiemer was never eligible for the draft pick reward so the opening day stuff doesn't matter. You have to be on 2 of the 3 top 100 lists(fangraphs, BA, ESPN) and Wiemer was only on one of the 3
  2. Just saw this so sorry for the late response, but I never understood why histories follow teams(I know why they do legally but it's dumb). Warren Spahn literally never played in Atlanta. If the Edmonton Oilers ever moved to Milwaukee I'd find it weird to celebrate Wayne Gretzky or the Stanley Cups they had won for example.
  3. Yesterday continued my confidence in the pen arms that Arnold has assembled, they aren't proven but there is a lot of talent there.
  4. I think you guys are underrating Strezlecki quite a bit, he was really good last season and he's Relievers can have high variance from year to year but with the amount of really good arms the Brewers stacked up I'm quite confident a couple of them with step up into high leverage Relievers
  5. MVP: Brandon Woodruff CY Young: Brandon Woodruff Rookie of the Year: Sal Frelick BA Leader: Sal Frelick HR Leader: Willy Adames ERA Leader: Woodruff for SP, Strzelecki for everyone SO Leader: Corbin Burnes WAR Leader: Willy Adames Breakout(s): Frelick, Winker, Strzeleck, Varland, Guerra Disappointment(s): Lauer, Bush, Mitchell, Contreras Bold Prediction (s): Tyrone Taylor is traded in May, Counsell wins Manager of the Year Record: 89-73 Playoffs? Yes, NL Central Champs, lose to Dodgers in NLDS
  6. I am curious if they are trying to trade Voit to Philly, seeing if they can get really good value before committing to him as the short side of a platoon at 1b
  7. Possible, but performance or injury could dictate that he stays up. If another injury to an outfielder happens or if he performs well the Brewers will have a tough time justifying sending him down.
  8. I said this in the opening day thread but I don't understand it if we'd bring Wiemer up for OD. Frelick makes sense as the Brewers could earn a draft pick for him, but Wiemer doesn't qualify so they'd be burning his entire age 31 season for 2 weeks of Wiemer now which for a small market team just doesn't make sense.
  9. It really is amazing, I saw so much complaining about the line last year and then they graded out as the 3rd best in the NFL last season.
  10. Andy Reid by most would be considered the most creative offensive mind in the game, literally everyone else is behind him
  11. Not sure I've seen a more wild post then calling MLF one of the least creative offensive minds in football. He has his flaws for sure but that's quite a take
  12. I do think Varland is on his way to making the roster, one of the few stats that translates from spring is K/BB ratio and his is off the charts. I think the Brewers will start him off in low leverage situations. I do think Payamps might be in some trouble but ultimately the pen will work itself out between injury and ineffectiveness
  13. The Jets are basically going to run back the 2022 Packers offense, but with a worse Oline, worse RB pair, and worse play caller
  14. Jimmy G already signed, he was top guy on the market. At this point the Jets are basically Rodgers or bust because the next best alternatives are Baker or Brissett.
  15. Practically speaking, free agency is open now
  16. We are now into Free Agency, gotta wonder how long the Jets would wait, if they don't get Rodgers they still need a QB, can't imagine they'll wait that long
  17. Sure seems like Rodgers will be a Jet, and probably only for a single season
  18. While I mostly agree with this I'd caveat that there is also a chance Carolina could win the NFC South since all 4 teams are pretty bad. I wouldn't put them as favorites or anything but I wouldn't rule it out either
  19. Supposedly the Packers made it clear they wanted to move on to Rodgers which is why Favre initially retired. Then he decided he did want to play and the Packers traded him
  20. Assuming none of Frelick, Wiemer, or Turang break camp with the Brewers I think it's very likely Perkins starts the year in the Big mainly as the backup CF. Maybe he gets a start or two against a lefty to allow Mitchell a break before one of the top prospects comes up. I do think his stay would be pretty short though
  21. Yea we aren't talking about what appears to be a fringe major leaguer with Cousins. Cousins has be great during his time in the majors, you play the options game when the 2 players are of similar quality.
  22. Then why do you consider Strezlecki a lock? He has options
  23. Why are you thinking they'll only have 7 relievers? You have 5 locks and say there are two open spots. But most teams carry 8 now? Unless you also meant Houser as a lock and just aren't counting him?
  24. I'd be absolutely floored if Lauer wasn't in the rotation all season barring some sort of injury
