  1. The bullpen is the biggest Wildcard going into the season that the team has. As Brock said there are a ton of talented arms like Strzelecki, Varland, Guerra, & Bush but there are very few proven arms besides Williams. This extends to the minors with guys like Cousins, Tyson Miller, Uribe, & Cam Robinson, and to injured guys like Ashby, Houser, & to a lesser extent Justin Wilson. I'm confident atleast a few of these guys will step up and grab major roles throughout the season, but it's hard to know which ones and the first month or two could be problematic as they try and find out who steps up and who doesn't.
  2. MVP: Brandon Woodruff CY Young: Brandon Woodruff Rookie of the Year: Sal Frelick BA Leader: Sal Frelick HR Leader: Willy Adames ERA Leader: Woodruff for SP, Strzelecki for everyone SO Leader: Corbin Burnes WAR Leader: Willy Adames Breakout(s): Frelick, Winker, Strzeleck, Varland, Guerra Disappointment(s): Lauer, Bush, Mitchell, Contreras Bold Prediction (s): Tyrone Taylor is traded in May, Counsell wins Manager of the Year Record: 89-73 Playoffs? Yes, NL Central Champs, lose to Dodgers in NLDS
  3. The Final 4 this year consists of a 4, 5, 5, & 9 seed. This is why judging coaches solely on how they do the tournament is flawed
  4. I am curious if they are trying to trade Voit to Philly, seeing if they can get really good value before committing to him as the short side of a platoon at 1b
  5. Possible, but performance or injury could dictate that he stays up. If another injury to an outfielder happens or if he performs well the Brewers will have a tough time justifying sending him down.
  6. I said this in the opening day thread but I don't understand it if we'd bring Wiemer up for OD. Frelick makes sense as the Brewers could earn a draft pick for him, but Wiemer doesn't qualify so they'd be burning his entire age 31 season for 2 weeks of Wiemer now which for a small market team just doesn't make sense.
  7. It really is amazing, I saw so much complaining about the line last year and then they graded out as the 3rd best in the NFL last season.
  8. I see people in NFC North Division Champ gear all the time. Atleast in that case you made it to the playoffs. This would be more like if the NFL did a 2nd playoffs last year with the Packers, Lions, Commanders, & Steelers of whoever else just missed the playoffs and won that
  9. I wouldn't hang a banner but just from a pure joy perception I would find it enjoyable. In the end this season won't be considered a success regardless but winning the NIT would at least be something
  10. Andy Reid by most would be considered the most creative offensive mind in the game, literally everyone else is behind him
  11. Not sure I've seen a more wild post then calling MLF one of the least creative offensive minds in football. He has his flaws for sure but that's quite a take
  12. I do think Varland is on his way to making the roster, one of the few stats that translates from spring is K/BB ratio and his is off the charts. I think the Brewers will start him off in low leverage situations. I do think Payamps might be in some trouble but ultimately the pen will work itself out between injury and ineffectiveness
  13. The Jets are basically going to run back the 2022 Packers offense, but with a worse Oline, worse RB pair, and worse play caller
  14. Jimmy G already signed, he was top guy on the market. At this point the Jets are basically Rodgers or bust because the next best alternatives are Baker or Brissett.
  15. Practically speaking, free agency is open now
  16. We are now into Free Agency, gotta wonder how long the Jets would wait, if they don't get Rodgers they still need a QB, can't imagine they'll wait that long
  17. Does anyone know how they determine NIT seeding? Being a 3 seed behind Michigan, Colorado, Sam Houston St, and Liberty seems weird
  18. It's definitely true that some fans and media got too far into the idea this team wasn't close to being a tournament team. They were a couple plays away from locking up a spot as noted. It probably says something about the quality of teams we discuss on the bubble but Wisconsin will likely be one of the first four out or close to it
  19. Sure seems like Rodgers will be a Jet, and probably only for a single season
  20. While I mostly agree with this I'd caveat that there is also a chance Carolina could win the NFC South since all 4 teams are pretty bad. I wouldn't put them as favorites or anything but I wouldn't rule it out either
  21. Supposedly the Packers made it clear they wanted to move on to Rodgers which is why Favre initially retired. Then he decided he did want to play and the Packers traded him
  22. Men's basketball has had considerably more success than Hockey has recently. Everyone knew Granato was gone after this season
