Much better approach by the Crew tonight. I know we all rip RR (me included) because on the surface it doesn't appear that he holds players accountable. It could be that he took care of some things behind closed doors. Something is obviously different tonight and RR could be the reason.

Living in Arizona there is obviously alot of animosity towards the Brewers and pretty much all that gets discussed about them is how Braun should be banned, etc. Yes, people here in AZ seem to forget all about Matt Williams, Jose Guillen, Jason Grimsley and Luis Gonzalez. Now they applaud Tony LaRussa who was the BIGGEST steroid enabler of all time...

I don't think Super 2 is a consideration at all. I don't believe (may be wrong) that September call-up time counts against that clock for arbitration purposes. Even if so, that threshold has long past. it does count, and to avoid Super 2 his call up date would be shortly after the allstar game viewtopic.php?p=902817#p902817 Can't wait for Downhill Thunder to arrive in Milwaukee. Nice recognition here as well: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mil/mookie-betts-kris-bryant-highlight-first-half-all-prospect-team?ymd=20140708&content_id=83490118&vkey=news_mil

I like the fact that Jimmy Nelson is now pitching on the same night as Marco Estrada

Another solid outing by Jim Henderson tonight for Maryvale. I know it is against rookie ball but it is good to see nonetheless.

What would it take from the Brewers? Segura, one of Peralta or Nelson, Jungman, Bradley & Coulter for Tulo? Not saying I would do this but I am curious what type of package it would take? I assume Colorado needs young pitching?
  7. jvrocksaz
It looks like Tulo wants out of Colorado... http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/05/troy-tulowitzki-sounds-like-he-wants-to-be-traded-to-a-contender/

    GARZA!!!!! Nice!
  9. jvrocksaz
Whoa, sorry about that. Maryvale's only schedled day game this year, and Jim Henderson was excited about it! I am actually curious why Jim Henderson went more than just one inning. All he usually pitches is 1 inning so I think it is a good thing that he was brought out to start a second inning.

Confirmation on Lara to Brewers. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/brewers-to-sign-gilbert-lara.html https://twitter.com/MaxWildstein/status/484353078322544640

Marco is the pitching version of 3TO...

8 k's through 4 Innings and only 49 pitches needed is hard to do... But the Brewers are doing it...
  14. jvrocksaz
Most definitely. I would like to see him get some time in Wisconsin and BC this season and possibly start AA next year.
  15. jvrocksaz
That is his second consecutive good start following three rough ones. I agree that it is nice to see. It looks like he is making the necessary adjustments for AAA.
  16. jvrocksaz
Nathan Orf sure has had an incredible OBP through his first 107 games as a pro...
  17. jvrocksaz
Dustin DeMuth continues to RAKE! 1st HR tonight also!
  18. jvrocksaz
Brewers win! Again! Keep it rolling boys!
  19. jvrocksaz
Very brief absence for Irving Falu, now activated off the Temp Inactive List. Falu now a Padre... Opens a 40 man roster spot.
  20. jvrocksaz
Melvin did make a serious run at Jose Abreu. Imagine if he would have pulled that off? Maybe the Crew wouldn't have signed Garza then but 1B would have been covered for a long time.
  21. jvrocksaz
Mitch Haniger continues to RAKE! Jimmy Nelson with another solid outing. He needs to be in Milwaukee SOON!
  22. jvrocksaz
Per this article on the Brewers website, Demuth has either signed or agreed to a deal. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140611&content_id=79257786&notebook_id=79258000&vkey=notebook_mil&c_id=mil

Pena is dealing in Nashville tonight. "Seriously" dealing!

I heard he threw a bat toward 3B, was it toward Donaldson? I only saw highlights of this weekend but it looked like Machado had beef when Donaldson tagged him, and it looked like a harmless tag. Then they plunked Donaldson? Edit - just saw it. It was supposed to go toward the pitcher, Abad, who was throwing inside. Machado is a clown. In addition, he also hit the catcher, twice, with his back swing earlier in the game. The catcher was removed from the game after the second one (which hit him in the head). Machado didn't even look back and check on him either time. He was then caught on camera snickering and smiling as the player was leaving the field. What a tool...
