  1. Well all the games where the Brewers have gotten down early recently certainly lacked the drama of trying to protect this once 8-run lead today.
  2. I can’t believe I’m saying this in a game that was 8-0 an inning ago, but insurance runs here would be huge.
  3. The Brewers have now scored runs in four straight innings, and have had multiple runners on base in every inning so far today.
  4. It seems like when he has to “hurry” the throw they look a lot better than when he takes his time releasing the ball. But to your larger point, yes he has made some nice plays recently.
  5. Inciarte should’ve acted like he caught it and then faked throwing the ball into the crowd, IMO. It wouldn’t have worked but it would’ve been great. Robin Yount tried the “pretend you made the catch at the wall” once at the end of an inning.
  6. Narvaez’s bat continues to be the most pleasant surprise on the offensive side this year (and yes I know there aren’t many to choose from).
  7. Both of Narvaez’s hits today have been 77.7-mph with almost the exact same launch angles (16 and 18 degrees). Per McCalvy, Vogelbach’s two RBI double broke an 0-for-18 streak for the Brewers with RISP.
  8. Hand grenades and horseshoes Well from on the verge of making it three straight innings of stranding a pair of runners to knocking two in. That’s progress!
  9. Well two hits in the 1st inning is nice. Would’ve been even better if they finished the inning with something to show for it.
  10. Freddy Peralta: Batter (Braves) vs Pitching Stats Huascar Ynoa: Batter (Brewers) vs Pitching Stats Statcast Game Preview for Braves-Brewers Statcast Game Feed for Braves-Brewers
  11. Looks like they just missed the perfect game with... [checks notes]... 8 walks. In all seriousness, they struck out 13 and that’s a fun accomplishment. The first 9-inning no hitter for the Shuckers, and first time the Mississippi Braves have ever been no hit in their franchise history.
  12. Here is your wacky stat of the day... Bryce Harper has a 1.030 OPS in 136 total plate appearances while batting in the middle of the Phillies order this year. The Phillies are 14th in runs scored. Luis Urias has a .691 OPS in 129 total plate appearance while batting mostly at the bottom of the Brewers order this year. The Brewers are 28th in runs scored. Luis Urias currently has 18 RBI while Bryce Harper has just 11 RBI.
  13. Nashville also hitless their first time through the order. And Biloxi. Got to go down to A ball to find a hit Wow, you’re right. The Brewers hitters are through 5 innings, and both the Sounds and Shuckers are through 4 innings without a hit. So 13 combined innings (and counting) without a hit for the top three levels of the organization tonight.
  14. Yelich just whiffed on a very catchable ball in foul territory, but in his defense I don’t think he wanted to risk hitting the side wall in left field.
