    Yikes, the Brewers outfielders are having a forgettable night.

    The Cubs are averaging 0.82 runs per 1st inning this year and just shy of a full run per 1st inning at home. They’re just behind the Nationals who lead MLB in 1st inning runs. Sort of weird it’s those two teams at the top of the leaderboard.

    There is a universe in which giving up Reese Olson for Daniel Norris could go down as one of the most cringeworthy trades of the Stearns era. Olson would be a top 10-12 prospect in the system right now, IMO.

    Small didn't really do anything that should've surprised those who've paid attention to what sort of pitcher he is. He'll be fine long-term, but I agree that in order to dream about him being an effective starter long-term he'll need a third pitch and improved command. Also, a reminder that Asbhy's MLB debut also came against the Cubs and he didn't make it out of the 1st inning...     This will be just the 29th time in MLB history that two starting pitchers are making dueling major league debuts in the same game. The most recent was earlier this season (Oakland's Adam Oller vs. TB's Tommy Romero on April 12). It’s the first time the Brewers have been involved in such a game in franchise history.     Paul Goldschmidt is coming off three straight days of hitting home runs against the Brewers. Among Goldschmidt’s 18 career at bats versus Corbin Burnes, 15 of them have ended in either a hit (8) or strikeout (7). Depending on how the game plays out it might not be the worst day to pitch around Goldy.
