MLB hasn’t officially listed today’s starters so I’m trusting this Todd Rosiak Tweet… -

A little morning baseball for those of us in the central time zone. The Rays have Jalen Beeks serving as their opener today, he hasn’t gone more than 2.0 innings in any previous start this season (lasted a max of 2.1 IP in a relief appearance this year).

Last time Jose Berrios pitched at AmFam Field was opening weekend last season (April 3, 2021) and he went 6.0 innings giving up 0 hits, 0 walks, and struck out 12 batters. So I suppose it can only get better this time around for the Brewers bats, right? The good news for the Brewers is for the most part Berrios has struggled so far in 2022…

Still a few weeks away, but I’ll throw out my random predictions for the Brewers first three picks… #27 - Justin Campbell, RHP, Oklahoma State #63 - Cade Doughty, 2B/3B, LSU OR Max Wagner, 3B, Clemson #72 - Hunter Barco, LHP, Florida I would like to see them end up with one of Doughty or Wagner. -
On the TV broadcast they just said Renfroe's "dealing with a little calf issue" which is the first time I've heard it mentioned.

In this article Jim Bowden lists the Brewers as a match for 10 of the 12 position players mentioned including… Bryan Reynolds, Josh Bell, Trey Mancini, Andrew Benintendi, Anthony Santander, Ramón Laureano, Whit Merrifield, Mitch Haniger, Nelson Cruz, Adam Frazier

Brewers 1-for-20 with runners in scoring position this series pretty much sums things up.

BA comparing Yelich to a kicker… lol

Well here we are, the matchup of Brewers-Reds aces we’ve been anticipating for months. Jason Alexander brings a 2.16 ERA over 16.2 IP into this contest to face-off against 24-year old Graham Ashcraft (2.22 ERA over 28.1 IP). The Reds have won all five of Ashcraft’s previous starts which is especially impressive considering they have just 23 wins overall on the season. That includes victories over three winning teams (Blue Jays, Giants, Cardinals) during those five starts.

Well for a split second my heart skipped a beat on that deep fly ball.
