  3. How in the world did Yelich play that ball so poorly. Ouch.
  4. With maybe the exception of Tyler O’Neil (2-for-7, 2 HR), Woodruff has absolutely dominated these Cardinals hitters over his previous 97 plate appearances against them (has held them to just a .374 OPS!). I don’t consider myself a greedy person, but man would I love to see the Brewers have some success against Lester tonight. ———————————————————

  6. Sanchez already pitched. But yeah, if you thought the Brewers were going to score 3 runs in the top of the 10th against Reyes then throwing Hader in the 9th is a genius move. Without hindsight, it was the right move. If it was 6-7-8 hitters, I'd agree that saving Hader is the right call, but facing Goldy, Arenado, and O'Neill, I don't want someone else out there. You can't pitch the 10th if you don't make it. Yes, as I mentioned earlier I agree that the spot in the order makes a difference, and as you noted it was the Cardinals best hitters due up.

  8. I'd rather have hader pitching to Goldy and arenado than anyone else we have. Fair enough, that situation lined up for it to make more sense than normal. I hope they pull it out, otherwise it’s a tough loss on a night you covered 8+ innings with the bullpen including Hader.
  9. This is the situation [on the road] where I would use Hader in extra innings. The best case scenario is just getting to the next inning, I’d rather take my chances with someone else in the 9th to increase the odds of winning in the 10th if it gets that far.
  10. Need to make Reyes throw enough pitches that he won’t be back in the 10th. Well at least JBJ will be a good extra runner if they make it the 10th.
  11. It’s coming. Robots would also revolutionize the big curveball pitcher who nips the bottom edge of the zone with the catcher catching it about 8 inches off the ground…., an obvious ball to umps now but actually a strike. I actually think we’ll see many more walks with the automated strike zone. Pitchers currently get a lot of calls just outside the zone, and hitters will have more confidence in laying off those pitches in the age of robot umps.
