Right knee discomfort doesn’t sound promising for Rowdy Tellez. I wonder if it happened when he was sent home on Cain’s double in the 1st inning, it looked like he was maybe a little surprised he was being sent and slowed as he approached 3B and kicked it back into a higher gear as he passed the bag.

The Brewers and Reds have 48 games remaining. The Cardinals have 50 games remaining. If the Brewers went .500 the rest of the season (24-24), the Reds would have to go 31-17 to tie them and the Cardinals would have to go 36-14 to tie them.
Perdomo’s inning at Wrigley back in April was 35 pitches. So combined at Wrigley he’s gone 67 pitches, 1.2 IP, 3 H, 5 ER, 4 SO, 4 BB in those two outings.
Perdomo makes me a little nervous, even with a big lead. He gave up 4 earned runs in his only other inning at Wrigley this season. Perdomo hasn’t given up more than 2 hits in any of his appearances this season, but needs to harnesses the control.
I’m curious to see what the plan is going to be Ashby in the coming days. After throwing just 23 pitches tonight is he going to be available out of the bullpen in the coming days, or are they going to get him another start next time through the rotation. Not a great outing for the whole “staying stretched out” thing.
I’ll be fairly surprised if the Cardinals finish the season with a winning record. They seems to have too many flaws to expect they’ll go on any sort of sustained run.
