    Since we are talking about Newfield I have to briefly mention how I informed him that his name was misspelled on his uni. I had "on deck" seats that I got from work which were first row right next to the on deck circle. There was a pitching change going on and Newfield was warming up in the circle and my friend and I noticed that his uni said NEWFEILD. Being in the first row it wasn't hard to get his attention. He didn't believe us at first but then strolled near the dugout and turned around. He must have gotten confirmation from his mates that it was spelled wrong and he just started giggling and shrugged his shoulders. The next day, I made sure to look, and it was corrected.

    Wrong. A win tonight moves Milwaukee to within 5.5 of the WC lead. Period. It doesn't matter what else goes on. Assuming Wash and Atl play to a finish the Brewers will be 5.5 out with a victory. The winner of the ATL/Wash game would become a division leader by a game and the loser will become the WC frontrunner. Milwaukee is guarenteed to pick up a full game tonight with a win.

    I also like Branyan to go deep at least once today. If the wind is favorable, I say RB sets the all time longest bomb in the history of the stadium today. JJ Hardy with a big day as well.

    I must say...I hate these games vs cincy...... For a team 90 game under 500 they sure score a ton of runs. A 4 run lead seems like being behind by 2 vs most teams.

    I wonder what Melvin thinks about keeping Santos in the rotation for the final 64 games. That would be around 13 starts. Maybe we could trade for Don Sutton for the stretch run.

    I must be missing something about his slider. Its starting out and finishing WAY out. I have no idea why we are fishin' for those. It looks easy to lay off on TV. I think that will change.

    right now the brewers are better off just putting pujols on in my opinion. There is no sense throwing a strike. Make him chase balls 3 inches off the plate either direction. Throwing him a strike is recipe for losing.

    I am all jittery for this game. I hope Jenks gets a shot late in the game to make a difference. I think Branyan should be in the lineup today personally. He seems ready to go on a big time binge.

    I sense Brewerland is approaching this game with post season intensity. A win with Sheets tonight would set up a posible 3-1 series win tomorow aft. That would be totally exciting.

    Overbay as a "contact" hitter is overblown. Check out the numbers on Billy "the maniacal free swing'n root'n toot'n long swing'n never gonna get it together" Hall's stats. Now check out Lyle's numbers. They are almost IDENTICAL this year with the exception of Overbay taking over twice as many walks. Everything else is almost a mirror image. The thing that blows my mind is the fact that Hall is k'ing less frequently than the "contact" hitting Overbay.

    +140 means you only have to bet 100 bones to win 140. -140 means you have to bet 140 to win 100. I prefer fractional odds myself.

    how does stl keep winning with lineups like that? I am calling a 4-3 Milw win. I was 100% wrong in my last prediction for game 3 of the Wash series but, the Brewers jump out early and hang on to this one.
