  1. Again with him charging forward, there is no way he is going to stop and throw out Janish without Janish seeing that and taking the 4 steps back to the bag. No 3rd baseman is making that play. Just a fluke hit.
  2. There was nothing he could do on that play. Even if he goes to 2nd the guy was close enough to get back.
  3. He also gives them a good late PH or PR in obvious base stealing situations. If you are not going to have a power bat(Stairs, Branyan) on the bench, I want a speedster and reliable contact guy.
  4. If you are going Public Enemy you have to go with the best song ever, "Bring the Noise" w/Anthrax. It appeases both the rock and rap sides. Added bonus being the beginning with "YEAAAA BOOOYYY!!! Plus you gotta give "thanks to Scott Ian, for being a down to earth human being".
  5. I submit one of my favorite songs, "End of the Line" by Devil Driver(members formally of Coal Chamber).? It has all essentials? 1) perfect name that applies to situation 2)soft intro to get the crowd? up 3) apex of intro? to coincide with Axford storming in 4)perfect rhytem and beat for crowd jumping/movement.?? Just imagine you get to the part where the signer starts the oooooooooooooo and the lights dim and then the at the "yeahhhhh" Axford comes storming out to fireworks and other WWE entrance themes.
  6. Looks like Ray King lost 100lbs and will be playing SS for the Brewers this year.
  7. I for one I never read post game stories for the quotes, I couldnt care less about what players say about the game unless something odd happens(see Villy vs Pujols). Beyond that nothing of any note comes from players and and more often then not the manager. The only thing I think the media(all forms) is useful is trade rumors, player transactions and off season moves, beyond that I dont care to hear from the players day to day during the season. I would also add that I hate people too, and totally understand what he is saying.
  8. For some reason, Livan Hernandez came to mind looking at Peralta.
  9. He has batting gloves in his waistband. McGehee looks to have trimmed out.
  10. Same could be said about Gamel at this point. Would you rather Gamel rot on the bench or down in AAA learning a new position and playing everyday with the probable call up when someone eventually gets hurt.
  11. Like I said earlier, drug history is classified under medical, so after I saw that, Jefferess still was an option for me.
  12. Not that it really matters, but Jefferess's drug history would be classified as medical.
  13. You would have to think that the Royals are going to eating some of YB salary.
  14. You also have to factor in that we will have two 1st round picks to pay, plus a potential sandwich pick. You have to figure that they wont be upset missing out on another high pick to pay.
  15. Saying ABs for Gamel is the biggest reason they need to trade Prince is equivalent to my wife saying the biggest reason we got married was that she needed someone to mow the lawn. Gamel ABs are probably on the second or 3rd page of reasons they need to trade Prince.
  16. Jeter wants a $150 Mil contract. I would also like a threesome between Erin Andrews and Jenn Brown. I am up in the air to which one is less likely to happen. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2010/11/26/2010-11-26_jeters_price_is_high____it_is_far.html Jeter is crazy
  17. I would really like this if they sign him, especially if they do it sooner rather then later. That way it allows Melvin to worry about trades and other matters.
  18. For some twisted reason, everytime I saw him go to the mound, I thought they should be playing this.?
  19. Melvin wouldnt be doing his job if he wasnt kicking the tires on all possibilities.
  20. Where are we suppose to get a broad generalizations, rambling comments and hear stories about his time with the Reds over and over again? You have to think that they will replace him with Orel. I like the way he discusses the game as if he was instructing. Morgan
  21. Before we start killing Melvin for not offering Valentine the job, lets remember that we all werent in the meetings, nor did we hear what was said about him on the fact finding missions. I would venture to guess that he was indeed the first choice, but ran himself out of the running by demanding the high contract. From the outside looking in, it woudl appear that Valentine liked to flirt but never commit. You have to think that he wasnt willing to get off the pot.
  22. If I were going to be dropping 3 mil a year on a manager, I may want to have some input into that. I see nothing wrong with him being a part of the process. I can guruantee that every owner in major sports in part of the hiring of a manager. They may not have the final say, but they do get some input.
  23. I fixed it for accuracyActually you made the article as far from the truth as possible. As mentioned above, Bill Scott was the one who started the rumor and TH was skeptical from the beginning.
  24. No matter who is hired, a good portion of the fans are going to hate it. Every managerial hire is anti-climatic, just like the trading deadline. The speculation is the best part.
