  1. The one thing I liked was that he could throw his slider for both a strike and effect.
  2. You also have to factor that the decline for JJ, especially health wise is really going to limit where he plays and possibly force him to 3rd, lowering his value.
  3. Also before we kill DM, lets remember that if it was done instead of cutting Suppan, it may not be his decision. Going off the moves so far this year, there has to be a reason beyond DM's control keeping Suppan on the roster.
  4. My answer to the response of "well they dont want to eat the 12.5 mil and would like to get something in return" is that they arent getting anything from him now, and in fact is hurting the team due to his performance. That money is spent and gone, just let him go and put another player on the bench.
  5. Macha response to why Soup sucks at pitching "well, he isnt getting the constant work that he had his whole career, so you are going to have moments like this"
  6. Exactly, if you hit a game winner, you are suppose to just flip your bat and stand there and watch it, then run after it lands.
  7. This is my fault. I turned it off just before the ninth and came back just after the double. Apparently only good stuff happens when I watch. Its like watching a car crash is slow motion.
  8. A rare over 25 first inning pitch count for a Brewer Starter
  9. I think you can receive one, if you qualify for one, after 2-3 years into school. I have heard of several senior to be players going onto academic scholarships in order to allow the team to bring in another player. In football, if you start school as a walk on, you are unable to receive an athletic scholarship until you have completed 2 years of eligibility.
  10. Up until last year, that was the job of Jack Z. to identify and draft talent.
  11. "If Chins could Kill" The Bruce Campbell Autobiolgraphy. Pretty humourous book, going over his life trying to be a A actor to becoming the most famous B movie actor ever. Prior to that it was "Behind the Paint" the story of the Insanse Clown Posse, written by Violent J. Once you get use to the language it is pretty amazing the effort they put in to make them selves multi platinum artists. The first chapter of the book it actually pretty depressing.
  12. I respect Suppan the man and think he does a lot of good work for the community. With that said I hate Suppan the pitcher and want him gone.
  13. Its not nice to hate people, but I hate Jeff Suppan the baseball player.
  14. Theriot would be a hall a famer if he could play the Brewers every game. Is it just me or does he go 3-4 every game he plays the Brewers?
  15. Remember LaPorta was drafted to be traded. IIRC Jack Z or Gord basically said that when they drafted him. Something to the effect of that he was the best hitter available and although he would be a good major league hitter, he may not have a place on the big league club and would be an attractive trading piece.
  16. That would be fine if they werent on the hook to pay him 5 mil this year for a player that is completly lost out there. Trading/DFAing Hart while saving a few Mil > paying him 5 mil to be nearly worthless out there. Sometime cutting your loses and getting what you can or saving what you can far outweighs any production you may have gotten from said player. I know that is cold, but this is a business and if you arent producing or in this case hurting your team with you play, you need to be gone.
  17. While it is fun to rip him, I am going to play devils advocate here and say that I would act the same way his is right now. At this point in his career and life, he doesnt really need baseball or the money and just wants to play. If he isnt going to get the playing time he wants with Milwaukee, then so be it and he leaves. Yes he is being a bit selfish, but at this point in his career he has earned that right, like many of those have done before him.
  18. They are beat writers for a baseball team, not novelists. As long as they report the news and break stories, I couldnt care less on how the write it.
  19. I have never broken anything, but have gotten over 96 stitches in my hands alone, and 3 nasty scars to go with them. -never been drunk -never dated an asian woman -never went to a frat party or spring break -convicted of a crime but never arrested or finger printed even though I should have been since it was more then a ticketable offense. -never been in a fight despite being a bouncer for over 2 years.
  20. Whether it matters or not, but I would venture to say that 99% of people in offices, outside of libraries or ones dominated by English majors, would have any idea what the "Holden Caufield Fantasy" is or even what it means.
  21. I am one that thinks there tends to be to many lawsuits these days and many are frivolous. With that said, if I was hit in the eye by a flying hotdog or any other item and it caused the damage to my eye that this one did, I would be suing for a lot more then $25 k.
  22. By the way, so we are all clear, its the Opening Ceremony not Ceremonies. There is only one ceremony. I heard Dan Patrick talking about being chastised for calling it Ceremonies.
  23. "That must be an old women's version of flashing"
