  1. It's just incredible that with the stellar pitching the Cardinals have that they're not making a run for the division. Oh, that's right, they really don't have stellar pitching - just seems like it this weekend!
  2. I just saw another interesting stat - Cubs up 2-0 again.
  3. As for the game, I would just like to see a well played 9 innings from the Brewers. ....and a "W", please...
  4. I congratulate the BF powers that be for keeping the vent thread server up and running after yesterday's debacle!
  5. Weren't the Yankees taking a look at him? If he was someone we could pick up after rosters expand that may be one thing, but I'm not sure who you'd release or send down to make room for him now.
  6. Question for you . . . why is this ironic? We could start a whole thread about the use of "ironic" incorrectly. I would say 57 and 57 is "coincidental" because you happen to be asking the question today, but not ironic. There may not be many Mark Belling fans on here, but it's great when he gets on a frequent rant about the use of "ironic".
  7. I'll go along with pitchleague's projections. Seems pretty reasonable. Quite the rookie campaign, considering he missed almost a 1/3 of the season before being called up!
  8. B and they're done dealing (because B can also include C as well as someone pointed out)
  9. That one made me laugh out loud - the wife wondered what was so funny!
  10. Burrell also has a no-trade clause that he's exercised in the past. Correct - and didn't his name come up a lot last year as well in relation to the Brewers? And I thought there was some feedback as well that he wouldn't even consider waiving the clause to come here. But I may be thinking of someone else (there have been a few!)
  11. I don't think this thread is working.....
  12. And whoever is in charge of the servers....you may want to pump up the power on the vent thread this evening....
  13. 1-41 when trailing after 8? I knew it was bad, but yikes.
  14. It's absolutely infuriating after a loss like this to hear people calling in to TMJ this afternoon complaining that Ned "always pulls his starting pitchers too early", when those were likely the same people that were complaining about Ned leaving Bush/Cappy/Vargas/whomever in TOO LONG not 1 month ago. Peavey, you're absolutely right. It's one thing to get irritated and be upset over the way they're playing (trust me, I'm really honked off). But when people call in and sound off like that, it makes all Brewers fans sound dumb. Although this evening, they can probably legitimately complain about pitching to Pujols.
  15. Mench and Yost had an opportunity to do a big Pinella meltdown there ofter the balls/strikes. Just go nuts, throw stuff around, get kicked out - ANYTHING to show some emotion! But I guess Mench must have did the "serenity now" before getting tossed. I guess it's just another game....
  16. In the unlikely event that he gets called out on that one by a member of the local media, maybe he'll give us that "it's just a game" line. I don't mind if the local Little League coach pulls out that line, but Ned... don't ever say that again. Or as he said yesterday - the fans just don't understand. I really appreciated that one too. I think I understand that today REALLY SUCKED, Ned!
  17. And when we take the field at MP Tuesday, it could be all tied up. Zambrano goes for them tomorrow, so that's probably a win. Hopefully Yo can stay hot for us.
  18. Man, 1 1/2 game lead and tied in the loss column. And just think, about 6 or 6 1/2 hours ago I had dreams of ending today at 4 1/2 games.
  19. Well, I guess if they're going to come back this evening, I'll read about it in the morning. I don't think I can watch anymore.
  20. I don't agree with Schroeder often, but he's right about not pitching to Pujols.
  21. Dave Nelson: "And Anthony Reyes, not pitching like a pitcher with a 6.40 ERA". No kidding, Dave. He's facing the Brewers at home! We have made worse pitchers than Reyes look like Cy Young.
  22. Wow, Rolen didn't want a piece of Prince, did he?
  23. Bill says, "Anthony Reyes, with an ERA over 6, so the Brewers should be able to put some runs on the board". And how many times have we made guys like this look like Cy Young? Ok, Prince, good start. Let's make Bill Nastradamous. (even though I'm sure I spelled Nastradamus wrong)
  24. Someone said it in another thread. Yost is pretty even-tempered, but it may be time to throw a couple of chairs through the wall in the clubhouse.
