  1. Guerra to the 10 day DL, and it sounds like it's going to end up being a bit longer than that. Come on down, Josh Hader!
  2. I don't see us with the pitching to have a real lengthy win streak. Wins: 5 Losses: 6
  3. Garza this spring has 14.2 IP and given up 14 runs on 25 hits. Please release him, I beg of the baseball gods.
  4. I know it's spring training, etc....but that is one UGLY line from Guerra today. Yuck.
  5. The Brewers released Joba Chamberlain, I was really hoping he'd make the team. Oh well.
  6. For the first time in a long, long time I am actually excited about the entire organization, and not just hopeful we "aren't terrible" at the Major League level.
  7. Paul Goldschmidt does not seem to be all that happy with his World Baseball Classic experience thus far.
  8. Obviously subject to change, but if I had to pick now. C- Bandy 1B- Thames 2B- Villar 3B- Shaw SS- Arcia LF - Braun CF- Broxton RF- Santana SP- Davies, Guerra, Peralta, Nelson, Anderson RP- Garza, Milone, Chamberlain, Torres, Feliz, Cravy, Marinez Bench- Pina, Perez, Aguilar, Nieuwenhuis, De Jesus Jr I know De Jesus is nothing offensively, but he has played every infield position and at least a little outfield. Gennett has the better bat, but he's a 2B only. I like Scooter, but given how much the team seems to value versatility, he just doesn't offer it. Just my 2 cents.
  9. Garza is trash. On a positive note, Aguilar homered again, they have to find a way to bring him north, don't they?
  10. I agree that they need to find a spot for Aguilar. He's been on base all 4 times to the plate again today. If he hasn't earned a spot on the team, then why invite the guy in the first place. Thames has looked...um, unimpressive so far, I think we need the insurance.
  11. Jungmann...I'm losing any hope I had of him getting it together. On the bright side, Santana has looked great so far.
  12. It's looking more and more like the writing is on the wall. I think we should just get used to the idea of seeing Braun in a Brewer jersey for a few more years. Would have been nice to continue reloading the team by trading him, but on the bright side he seems popular enough and someone has to get the casual fans to buy tickets.
  13. Good sign for Tommy that his Brewer tenure has already eclipsed that of Caleb Smith.
  14. I just hope someone at Miller Park leads the crowd in a riff off the football cheer... J! E! T! T! Jett! Jett! Jett!
  15. A great pitcher, gone. Never once in his entire Brewer career did he go on injured reserve, never blew a game, never even gave up a run. Hope there is still room for a statue outside the park for him. /salute
  16. Now that he is gone, I hope his replica jerseys go on sale in the clubhouse store.
  17. That is a LOT of money, and maybe I am wrong, but I just don't see the Yankees having the horses to keep up with the Red Sox at all. Kinda seems like that money could have been put to better use. I realize he is an outstanding talent, but 17+ million a year for a guy who is going to give you 60-70 innings probably...well, maybe this is why I'm not a GM.
  18. I hope the Red Sox cancel any "Retro" jersey days they had scheduled in 2017.
  19. The last few days I have heard rumors about dozens of players being traded at the Winter Meetings, but no word at all about any Brewers, especially Braun. Not a good sign in my opinion, I hope he gets dealt. I don't have anything against him, he is a great player, but it would be in the best interest of the team for the future to get a couple blue chip prospects, if possible.
  20. I would not be adverse to giving Susac a shot at the starting catcher job. He's young, and was a pretty highly regarded prospect, may as well give him a shot. Nothing against Maldanado, but he is what he is at this point. Just a thought. EDIT: The post above this one by adam was not there when I began composing this one, so I apologize for the redundancy.
  21. After missing out on superstar Eric Thames, the Mets resort to Plan B, and sign Cespedes.
  22. Might be the first Stearns move that I really don't see the point of. Oh well, he's better at this than I am, hope it works out.
  23. Meet your new 1st baseman for the next 3 years, Eric Thames! http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/11/brewers-sign-eric-thames.html
  24. For some reason I have this feeling Mitch Moreland will be our 1st baseman.
  25. I guess I'm not too upset about him exercising that right, he had the right to do it, and he did. What leaves a bad taste in my mouth was the whole way he handled leaving. I may be wrong, but it just seemed like the guy had a poor attitude toward the organization there towards the end, so while I won't actively root against the guy, like you I am not terribly disappointed he is out. Especially since he basically did nothing to help them at all in this series, got what, 1 hit and allowed a passed ball that was key in losing the elimination game? Not exactly a performance to tell the grandkids about. I do however kind of wish the Rangers would have won it all, for the sole reason of getting Prince a ring. Feel bad for him.
