  1. David Price in the post season...uh, leaves much to be desired. Yikes. Also, the Indians don't seem to mind being spurned by Lucroy.
  2. Bah, I was in the hospital for a couple weeks and couldn't follow much Brewers news here in Arizona, that'll teach me to get sick during baseball season!
  3. This has to be the first time anyone named Scooter has better clean up, right?
  4. Travis Shaw of Boston had to get pulled out tonight after fouling a ball off his foot, they don't know how bad it is. They also really have no backups to speak of. I call them tomorrow and offer Hill, Lucroy and Guerra and see if they overpay.
  5. Will Smith Matt Garza Aaron Hill The longer the Lucroy saga goes on, the more I think it turns into an offseason deal. I just don't see a contending team out there with that glaring of a need to pay the king's ransom it seems like we want for Luc.
  6. The Mets just demoted Conforto after he needed a cortisone shot (which I'm not sure they can do actually), but anyway, that team is riddled with injuries and possible injuries. If they really believe they can make the post season this year, now is the time to strike a deal, they HAVE to be desperate.
  7. Hard to guess what we could do with the Mets right now, both Cespedes and Syndergaard left today's game early with possible injuries.
  8. I think we as Brewer fans sell Garza a little short just because he was so terrible last year and had such a lousy attitude about it. He is only 32, he has pitched 10 years and had 1 bad one, last year. The other 9 years of his body of work are actually not bad, at all. Even in this years very, very tiny sample size, he has been serviceable. The Mets have to understand that to get something, you need to deal from strength. Their strength is pitching. If they get rid of an arm, say Matz, they need one back for this year at least, Garza. Braun is an upgrade for them with the bat and under control for a while. They need a 3B as well, throw in Hill and eat some money if needed.
  9. I think the Mets are a fine trade target...for Ryan Braun. They need an outfielder, they need offense, and Cespedes is probably gone after this year. Braun and Garza for Matz.
  10. I was wondering what that loud chime was outside earlier, it was Jungmann turning back into a pumpkin.
  11. I'm hoping they get the game in, but the Cubs decide it's way to cold to risk injury to Arrieta and they run someone else out there.
  12. Maybe he will stay there as apparently he can't throw a pitch anymore without cutting his hand up on the mound.
  13. I am 110% convinced that any deal for Lucroy has to bring back starting pitching, maybe not totally major league ready right now, but no more than a year off. We can't run out our starting 5 the way they are constructed now for a whole 162 games, we just can't. If we do, every reliever in our system will be overworked drastically.
  14. Is Santana hurt? That lineup is looking a little...brutal.
  15. The next game Arrieta starts will have a good chance of being a no-hitter as well.
  16. We really need Anderson to eat some innings, I'm a little worried about the bullpen getting overworked. Peralta gives us nothing, Jungmann seems to need to make some adjustments, Davies got knocked around. Haven't heard anything about Garza.
  17. I think the majority of us could have predicted this outcome before the game even started. Free Wily!
  18. Every day that Lucroy is still a Brewer makes me a little more nervous we overplayed our hand. Texas and Detroit both have serious injuries to their starting catchers. If not now, when?
  19. I'm not sure a WHIP over 1.4 is exactly what you want coming out of your bullpen, velocity is fine, control is questionable. Maybe he'll come around, but there was a reason this guy was available...
  20. Freeman was uh...less than impressive in his debut tonight. Next?
  21. I agree with this 100%. Last year in one of the many discussions about Segura I said the man would never be the same here after such a personal tragedy and for his own sake I hoped they'd trade him. Clearly he needed a change of scenery and to get out of someplace he more than likely associated with the worst time of his life. I don't think it was the Brewer coaching who did him wrong, or the organization at all, I think the poor guy just needed a fresh start. I hope he does well. Except when he plays against us.
  22. Hitting your pitcher anywhere but 9th is just foolish, I don't care how a manager tries to explain it, it's just bad baseball.
  23. We can't score and meanwhile Jean Segura with an OPS of 1.681 so far after mashing in spring. Oh, the irony.
  24. I am going to go through a lot of alcohol this season.
