  1. Bernie Brewer plus Hank the Dog for a PTBNL from the Expos, errr I mean the Nationals. My ex girlfriend's cousin's hairdresser's aunt is best friends with a guy who played college ball with Craig Counsell. I bring you this inside information, not because I desire attention for myself (no, really!!!) but because it is my honor to serve the Brewers community.
  2. Somebody get Bill Hall to Balco, stat! He can help....
  3. Didn't the Brewers acquire Cain/Yelich in late January? Patience...
  4. Meanwhile, Carpenter moves to 3B and threatens to break Ryan Braun's record for the All-Time worst defensive season at Third.
  5. I'd trade Hiura, Burnes, Woodruff, Hader & Ray to the Angels for Mike Trout I'd then sign Craig Kimbrel for 6 years $100 million I'd sign JD LeMahieu for 3 years $60 million Trade middling prospects to the Yankees for Sonny Gray Sign Adam Ottovino 3 years 48 million Roll with Cain Yelich Trout Shaw Aguilar LeMahieu Pina Arcia Chacin Gray Anderson Nelson Guerra Bullpen of Kimbrel Jeffress Knebel Ottovino Plus... Brewers win the World Series, I get a statue at Miller Park, the team sucks in 2022 but so what...Mark A still makes money because Brewers get new TV contract despite the bigger payroll
  6. Passan says 6 years $140 million. Wow! Makes things tougher on the Brewers, potentially, I was hoping he would sign with an AL team. Of course if Corbin doesn't pitch well or gets injured and the contract prevents the Nationals from making other moves, then that obviously helps the Brewers... Will be interesting to watch it play out Definitely makes a good pitching staff better, and he is going somewhere where he doesn't have to be an ace.
  7. Agreed. I don't doubt that part of the appeal, to DiPoto, of acquiring Santana & Bruce & Swarzak is that he can trade them later...
  8. 1 game from the World Series and this is the plan. TOR starter not needed. This can't be real? TOR starter coming from within: Corbin Burnes
  9. I wouldn't bet my mortgage on it, but I'm fairly sure Hernan Perez could outproduce Kyle Seager in 2019
  10. Agree strongly that Shaw shouldn't face LHP... And I don't know if they have the best platoon partner for him internally. I think they might roll with Perez in that spot, but will hope they find someone who smashes LHP and let Perez remain in the super utility role.
  11. I am very unhappy that the Packers fired him midseason. Not a classy move by a (usually) class act organization.
  12. I doubt they are opposed to LOOGY's. They are opposed to ineffective LOOGY's. A good GM also needs to protect a team from it's manager, i.e. if Counsell has a LOOGY, he is going to go to him, no matter how inconsistent he might be (FWIW pretty much any other MLB manager would have done the same thing)
  13. Standing ovation on that one! I agree wholeheartedly I like the idea of Bumgarner in a Brewers uniform for one year. I like the idea of multiple years of Woodruff, Peralta, & Burnes though, more... If the Giants would take a package of Davies, Ray, & a lesser pitching prospect, I'd do that...
  14. The Mariners are really gambling by dealing Diaz. I know relief pitchers are historically volatile but Diaz was pretty amazing in 2018. Arguably better than Hader ... They better be getting a really nice haul back. I think Jerry DiPoto is a trade addict
  15. I will definitely echo the crowd here, no way do I give up several years of Burnes or Woodruff or Peralta for one season of MadBum. Domingo Santana for MadBum? Sure. Keon or Schoop plus a lower level pitching prospect? Yes.
  16. Mauricio Dubon.
  17. Very very very sad!
  18. Possibly. The Yankees need to add a lot more than just Paxton to their pitching staff to catch up with the Red Sox (in my opinion)
  19. I think Yelich can at least consistently hit .290 with 25-30 HR's a year for the next 3-4 years if he stays healthy
  20. Haha I am okay with my hot take That being said, yah, look at our yearly prediction thread. Everyone is stupidly wrong on something. Solid reason why I avoid absolute hate or love hot takes though for the most part. You mean like when I said Arcia would be an All Star and the Brewers' MVP?!
  21. I'd rather have Hiura & Pina. I think Pina is generally underrated. He's a fantastic defensive catcher, a great leader and his hitting is solid enough for me. Meanwhile we'd have (we will have) 6 years of Hiura and his plus plus bat.
  22. I seriously doubt that Stearns parts with Hiura
