  1. 3B is more valuable than LF. Longoria provides a good bat at a more premium position. Would you trade Braun straight up for Longoria? I sure would! Move Shaw to 1B and trade Thames? Absolutely.
  2. The casino sequence, and Rose in general, represents the common man's view of the First Order and of totalitarian rule. It gives added depth and meaning to the motivations for and the need for the Rebellion. The Last Jedi gives us a greater insight into the powers of the FORCE. The Jedi, especially in the Prequels, had all sorts of rules and regulations as to how the Force could and could not be used... In this film we get glimpses into just how vast and powerful the Force is, without restrictions. I think it is a brilliant film on so many levels.
  3. Take away Zack Greinke's three seasons pitching in the Dodger's pitcher's paradise and he's a career 3.75 ERA guy. And look how much money he got!!!
  4. As usual, look at bigger samples: Career Road ERA: 4.27 Career Home ERA: 3.65 (which is, in itself, remarkable considering most of that was in Colorado) At 2 years $16 million? A fantastic signing, in my opinion. As I said previously, he should be a very solid #4 or #5 starter. The Brewers needed more starting pitching depth, and got it...
  5. I'm a hard core Star Wars fan and absolutely loved it. Thought it was awesome!!!! Looking forward to seeing it for the 2nd time this weekend.
  6. Keep in mind his name is pronounced Yo-leees That means we got two Yo's in one week.
  7. Game by Game stats of Chacin's 2017 season https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=chacijh01&t=p&year=2017
  8. Good signing... He had a few bad games last year, got lit up a bit in Cincy and in Colorado, and his first outing of the year was a disaster, but he's a good solid #4 or #5 starter who will help the Brewers
  9. If the Rays are sellers lets get pitching, and soon!
  10. It was great having him in the 2008 playoffs Bring back Roenicke, trade for Greinke, and hire Mark Kotsay as an Outfield coach
  11. I'd actually like to see the Brewers take on Greinke's contract. He'd improve the pitching staff. It is Mark A's money, I don't care... 4 years of $35 million per, no big deal... Kidding
  12. Completely ridiculous in my opinion. The D-Backs are a contending team. Why would they deplete their starting pitching for an Outfielder? And then the article goes a step further and suggest two OF's for two controllable talented MLB starting pitchers...
  13. Thurston, I am with you on Plan C. Building from within, with a strong farm system is indeed the way to go. I would enjoy bringing in some more talent to add to what we have, but I do trust Stearns and like the direction we're heading.
  14. Does Hader have more than 2 controllable pitches? Maybe I'm "mis-remembering" but I thought he's mostly a fastball-slider guy whose fastball goes down to 92 mph when he gets to pitch 35-40 or so.... He sure seems to me like a light a lights out relief ace star with marginal potential as a starter....
  15. Matt Kemp in LA, Chase Headley is San Diego, Pablo Sandoval in San Francisco, Yovani Gallardo in Milwaukee! What is this, 2011? Cool! Can we DFA Yuni B this time around?
  16. Stearns does nothing ---> WHY AREN'T WE DOING ANYTHING Stearns makes a virtual no risk unlimited upside signing ---> WHY IS STEARNS DOING SOMETHING Some people just can't be pleased. At times I wonder if we traded for Kershaw if even then it would be a bad move. I see absolutely nothing wrong with getting another veteran arm in here cheap. He can only help the team, if not he will be gone and no harm done. What is the problem? Well said! The Brewers do have a heckuva pitching coach. Maybe he can help Yo turn it around. If not, no big deal.
  17. At least the Angels will be on TV more... I like watching Trout. He is as close to Mays/Mantle as MLB has had since the '60's
  18. Houser and Williams to the bullpen from the Brewers MiLB
  19. I sincerely think Villar is going to have a big year in 2018
  20. Angels are really going for it. As always though, they need a heckuva lot more pitching.
  21. Brewers are rumored to be in on JJ Hoover. He has the relatively high K/9 rate that Stearns likes. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/milwaukee-brewers https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hoovejj01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-
  22. This is a pretty good article that explains a few things https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2017/12/14/brewers-continue-look-additions-after-quiet-winter-meetings/946521001/
  23. Pitching a lot in Fenway, Yankee Stadium and Camden Yards doesn't help the HR rate. Yes the NL Central has some HR parks, including of course Miller Park, but the AL East is absolutely loaded with HR hitting greats in ways that the NL Central is not....
  24. I believe Matt Albers is still available, right? I think he'd help the Brewers plenty. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/alberma01.shtml
