  1. Hiura's had some nice defensive plays so far. Limited sample, but not sure if he had any samples last year that were even passable.
  2. Narvaez's framing looking particularly bad this inning. The clear strike fooled Encarnacion by the way it was caught, then the ump decided to go the other way on an identical pitch even though that was a strike as well.
  3. Yes, they're an eyesore on TV. Regular signs are perfectly fine. Possibly the second most annoying advertising thing. I've been to minor league games where they got sponsors for foul balls. And it was every. single. one. So 200 times during the game, the PA announcer comes on and says "foul ball brought to you by..."
  4. Ok, limited sample, but got to laugh when the lineup has Arcia is hitting over 100 points higher than anyone else.
  5. Players at this point don't know whether they're playing tomorrow or sometime next week. Some have been stranded in another city unexpectedly for several days. They'll soon be expected to play double headers, be subject to more schedule changes, possibly an uneven number of games between teams, and other structural or scheduling changes that are being made up as they go. Even with all the chaos of the new protocols and everything, all of this has got to have made it messier than most expected. In addition, Cain's quite possibly trying to figure out when/where/how his boys will go to school and didn't need all of these additional variables being introduced to that situation on a daily basis. Good on him for prioritizing correctly.
  6. Back online! Nothing important happened while we were gone, right? If you mean like actually playing baseball, then nope! Rumors of players both going to Potawatomi and going up to Whistling Straits on the day off. Unlikely it was contracted after they arrived in Milwaukee, but would illustrates behaviors in the league that are only making things more difficult.
  7. Pretty much expect him to opt out, if there's a season to play by the time he can return.
  8. One little infield hit. Good things happen if you get ahead in the count. Pitches-strikes: Woodruff 92-61, Phelps 9-6, Williams 13-9, Hader 12-9
  9. The bullpen looks really good on paper. Think we shouldn't expect to see many meltdowns like last night.
  10. Last night he was literally rubbing his face and nose, then they showed him 10 seconds later with the mask on. I thought a secondary benefit of masks was supposed to help remind people not to touch their faces, but it seems to add to the touching when they're constantly pulling a mask off and putting it back on again.
  11. "Bad call" Jomboy won't have to use his expert lip-reading skills this year.
