  1. Day off tomorrow. Full glass of Haderade. If not, I wouldn't mind Freddy. If CC wants to frustrate me, Jeffress.
  2. TAAAAylor Williams Maybe we can expect a Barnes-Jackson move for Friday.
  3. Fire up that San Antonio Shuttle. Let me guess, Taylor Williams and Jacob Barnes are coming back.
  4. "Burch was pretty good" Rock says of his last outing, as a ball is flying out of the park.
  5. I'm not unopposed to trading MLB players to fill bigger needs. They have an abundance of pitchers, and probably could spare some so they can call up McKay. [sarcasm]But the real deal to aim for is Aguilar for Oliver Drake, gogogogo[/sarcasm]
  6. Tom @Haudricourt · #Brewers GM David Stearns on whether Woodruff injury makes it imperative to acquire starter: "I don't know that we can let his temporary absence impact how we manage the deadline. I have found that potential acquisition costs generally dictate what is reasonable and what is not."
  7. Also why I'll be glad that Stearns doesn't pull a fan-like emotional reaction to losing Woodruff by rushing to fill the void. He gets nine days of additional information to decide what to do - wise to go ahead and take it.
  8. All except the good ol' team record, which actually says Bellinger is less valuable since his team is so loaded they would still be the best in the NL without him, which will be used as reason to put him over the edge.
  9. Next starter isn't needed until August 3, but with this and Chacin needing another phantom IL stint if he craps out again I think you need two more starters. And I don't think Houser or Peralta should be either, since they're going a long way to turning the pen around and if they continue to not be able to make effective starts you create more problems than you solve. I think one of the starters needs to be internal, and the other acquired. That's one!
  10. That's a 3-5 weeker. Can make it all the way to August 3 without needing a 5th starter, but with Houser/Peralta really solidifying the pen and Chacin being garbage I don't know how they can go without adding now.
  11. I remember when the All Star Game was in San Francisco during his playing days. He took a boat out into the cove with his dog in it. Think it was one of his better years and he was kind of a snub, so that's how he went to the game anyway.
  12. Someone reminded CC he still had Claudio last night. I think someone had been playing a trick on him and said Claudio was traded. Expect about 12 appearances over the next week to make up for lost time.
  13. Counsell last night: "We're getting there" with Saladino not producing. Counsell today: lol but not there yet. Let me stick him in the outfield.
