  1. I'd rather just get Home Run Derby'd than deal with an inning like this.
  2. As incredible as Frelick's defense was last year, it's been very disappointing so far. I guess we can chalk the first couple weeks up to the spring training juggle, but feels like a lame excuse.
  3. I'm about ready to see Myers get a shot in the rotation over Hall.
  4. Mudcats could have gotten the game in. Dark and a bit windy, but the forecasted rain never materialized and may not until late evening, if at all.
  5. 20 Reds fans in attendance instead of the usual 30.
  6. Tomorrow looks as bad. Might be Friday in Baltimore until we get a game.
  7. McCalvy said he fainted in a Spectrum store, which is just ripe for fun speculation.
  8. Would have to see what it looks like when it's done. I would hope he's not really going to be shining stadium lights on the field all night long. But aren't there five fields within a 10 minute bike ride the kids could use down there?
  9. Furthering "the Athletics are a joke"... https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/39873638/athletics-play-minor-league-park-vegas-residency Three years in a 10,000 seat / 14,000 capacity AAA park. That they will share with the AAA team. Which would fit 3x-4x of the attendance they're getting in Oakland.
  10. On the bright side, we can lose 61 more times and still win 100 games.
  11. Making it weirder... Spectrum terrible customer service strikes again!
  12. Genius reply:
  13. Winning games 7-6 while wondering if we might run out of pitchers is way more fun than winning games 2-1 and being afraid we're going to get no hit for half the game. Hook has his work cut out for him with this staff, but we already knew that.
  14. Investigating the transfers should be pretty easy if they are indeed wires (vs. ACH transfers). No bank is going to let $500,000 wires go through without additional authorization. Possibly a phone authenticator, but probably even a recorded phone call to/from the bank to the account owner to verify.
  15. Nice to win these two without Kolek against desperate teams that both may have needed to win to get in. We never even made it to a single Big East Tournament championship game before Shaka. Now back for the second year in a row. Ending the long-standing tradition of Marquette crapping the bed in the conference tournament is one of his nicest accomplishments. There's something about getting that Saturday night game in the Garden.
  16. It's making a bet he can have some productivity in 2025. I can't think of a player more worth betting on than Woody.
  17. I despise Fanatics. Dirty move they pulled to acquire Topps as well, so I'm sure baseball card quality won't be trending upward either.
  18. Kind of like getting the pick compensation for losing Burnes early, with the plus of two guys who will be expected to contribute this year and many more. Seems ok for one year. Though I'm usually not a fan of "Major League-ready" returns, I'll trust Hook to make something out of DL Hall.
  19. I both hate and love the Baseball HOF difficulty. That there are obvious greats omitted is frustrating. But the Football HOF is the other extreme and seems to let everyone in.
  20. Pricing and availability at a later date. Interested to see if they'll be available if you're out of market. Bally doesn't provide currently (only local teams), so have to use MLB.TV. And if Amazon changes anything from the in-market Bally or out-of-market single team MLB.TV rates, which are both $19.99/mo.
  21. I prefer Arnold's collection of guys with ERAs over 6 (in limited samples) over his collection of guys recovering from Tommy John. Especially at a low cost, I don't mind this at all.
  22. Why not just non-tender Houser and Taylor? Do we get kickbacks from Tommy John doctors for taking on their patients or something?
  23. I remember that it seemed like Arnold was collecting guys with 6 ERAs at this time last year as well. A couple actually worked out ok. Enjoy your collection, Matt!
  24. I hate the Dodgers. That is all.
  25. Also on board with a league minimum / Henry or Navarreto type guy. Given our resources, backup catcher is not where we should spend money when the starter is the best position player on the roster and our #2 project (top 40 overall) could be up later in the year.
