  1. “wanted back in the worst way” ... first time I’ve ever seen that. Well he was on the street as spring training was starting. He wanted a job and liked it here. Not a shock. The question is why didn't Stearns want him? First of many bad decisions. He was not on the street. He was signed on Jan. 31st. There are also connections to him wanting to be playing where he is. I get that we can look back on this as a possible bad choice from Stearns but let’s at least use facts when talking about it. Here is a good Twitter thread explaining why Miley is having success this season and it isn’t because of what he did in 2018 with the Brewers.

  3. So Hiura was too good to send down but not good enough to change the tides when called back up?
  4. Can we start talking about tanking for a better draft slot?
  5. Getting harder and harder to remember how good Cain was last season. He just flat out stinks this year. (offensively)
  6. Plunk Schwarber and Castenellos coming up and get in a fistfight. At least it'll be entertaining. /blue
  7. I still can't believe Counsell wanted Villar gone so bad that we did the deal that we did. Just awful.
  8. I'm taking my 3 year old son to his first ever game on Monday. So I find myself getting quite angry with the team for how poorly they've played and mad at myself for even spending the money on it. I have to remind myself frequently that it's just a game, my 3 year old couldn't care less if they win or lose, and just try to make it a great experience for him. At least you get to check out Houston. Some pretty great and exciting players to see on that roster.
  9. For me, I think what stinks is that they seem to not even be putting up a fight. I didn't expect playoffs even at the all-star break but I thought a team with a lot of the guys that were around last year and seem to have good leadership would put up more of a fight. Maybe they are just that broken with underperformance and injuries but it just stinks to see after how much fun it was last season.
  10. Going to be some cheap tickets to be had in September.
  11. [sarcasm]It's simple. No other team has the horses coming up September 1st.[/sarcasm]
  12. Well, Moose is hurt. They tried Saladino. They’ve tried Spangenberg. And Perez on the season is .262/.292/.429/.721 vs. LHP on the season which is passable right now. He’s also hit Quintana, while not great, the 3rd best on our team. Who would you like to see there?
  13. Literally no one insinuated that they did. Just that it might be wise to not press him to get back for this season. If the playoffs (which are already a long shot) aren't a realistic thing in a week or so, what is the point in bringing him back?
  14. Unfortunately, this is probably what landed him. So while it stinks to have, it is more than likely the difference between having him last year or not having him at all. And I do agree with your last paragraph. Many toss around numbers without ever thinking of the ripple effect. I've been a staunch supporter or Ryan Braun and I am still excited that he gets to basically be a Brewer for life but that contract is a bad one and everyone should know it. Unfortunately, sometimes you do have to go down those roads.
  15. Wade Miley can be tossed into this too if you are willing to accept that he was far better over the course of his career compared to Lyles. I feel like I'm trasing Lyles (even though I was the one that brought it up that he could be in the rotation next year in our IGT yesterday) but he really has been pretty terrible over his career. Maybe he has found something with Milwaukee and he will go on to reaching his potential as a 1st round pick but he still hasn't done a damn thing to warrant any sort of security in this game. Chacin: 20 career WAR Miley: 12.5 career WAR Lyles: -2.5 career WAR Even with that, Miley could only secure $4.5M from the Astros last offseason as he came off one of the better finishes in the game in 2018.
  16. The bunt is alive and well! While bunting gets a bad name in the game today, it still is plenty useful. Wish the Brewers did it a bit more in certain situations.
  17. Yeah, I don't see it happening for the Crew this season. It's been the writing on the wall for a while already. We just are not deep enough or talented enough in the pitching department to make a serious run. Last year, was last year with making a comeback. That team was talented enough to win 96 games. This team will be lucky to be minus 10 from that. Hopefully, they are smart with a guy like Woodruff because he could be a huge piece to our success next season and beyond.
  18. You’re using silly humor to not confront when shown to be wrong in your scattered statements. It’s part of the reason your infestation of these boards scatters to about 25 different active threads without counting the many you’ve already killed. But yeah, carry on...
  19. Lyles is making $2M this season. Now we want to give him $10+M? Yikes.
  20. No, it doesn't. They have an $18M all-star catcher that is still doing his job well and a back up in Pina that has been mashing for a month or so, including against LHP.
  21. .530 is not his on base, it’s his batting average vs LHP. Instead of Perez being brought back, it should have been Freitas, imo. For 2 reasons: 1.) our lineup vs LHP would have been bolstered. 2.) Grandal would have gotten rest this last month+, his power has virtually disappeared the last couple months, gee, I wonder why?! Arcia could have just played in all the games, Perez adds nothing to this team except for pitching in blowouts. Grandal has almost a .400 OBP, IN THE MAJORS, over the past 28 days... also roughly a month. DO. YOUR. HOMEWORK.
  22. Yes, lock him up to a 4-year deal. Get him in his prime. He will be a steal three years from now.
  23. 1yr- $3.5M with a team option for year 2 at $5M. Anything more and you go find another arm. This guy is a -2.5 WAR in his career. He hasn’t earned any sort of security.
