  1. Neither. Maybe next season.
  2. So now Freitas plays over Grandal (or possibly Braun) at 1B? No thanks.
  3. He has every right to do it and did. But someone has every right to question him about it too. He spit out his quotes on all a player wants to do is win a WS. Well that was obviously a lie because he would’ve jumped all over that trade at the time as Gomes was abysmal that season. But it is what it is. I don’t have any ill will towards him (or any player) just think he’s kind of a tool and is a bit overrated by many Brewers fans.
  4. We sure fall in love with our own. Lucroy had a couple of nice seasons for the Brewers but overall was just a solid player. He didn’t deserve big money from us (or anyone). Instead of being a leader on a young team, he wanted to be dealt to a contender and made that clear. That resonates in a clubhouse. When being dealt to a contender, he scoffed at having to beat out another catcher the following year. Now I see a Brewers “fan” that wants him to have success against us in a season where we literally need all the wins we can get?
  5. Play them out? I’m confused at the right question being asked in general here. If we win the first game, we should probably try to win the second.
  6. 49.5% Cubs win division 49.5% Cardinals win division 1% Brewers Because it’ll make it that much more enjoyable.
  7. Yep, I did say that. I'll own it. They were playing like crap, and I was at my wits end watching the offense flail away against a pitcher they should have hit. They've played better lately. I think everyone goes through stretches where they get down watching this team. I think I've been here long enough to say that I rarely get down on this team, but thanks for the ultimate judging post! Seems pretty petty to search out the one time I've gone negative. The uber pessimists, as pointed out, are negative on everything, all the time. In my opinion, you didn’t even have to defend yourself here. I think it’s a pretty ridiculous attempt at a call out. It wasn’t what you we’re trying to point out in your first post to this topic. Everyone has negativity towards the team at some point and you’ll probably get to that point again as we stop playing the lowly Pirates now. Could dig up plenty from all posters including myself. Your last sentence is exactly dead on though.
  8. I know we don’t do many poll questions around here but a good one would be where do you think the Brewers will finish: -Central Division Champs -Wild Card 1 -Wild Card 2 -Miss Playoffs
  9. Could we win 28-30 times over the next 46 games? We could. But this team sure hasn’t had that in them so far this season. Hopefully they find the switch but they sure play a lot of good teams coming up. Hard for me to believe it’ll happen but ya never know.
  10. Yeah, I don’t see a world in which Moose takes the option. It’s just not in his best interest financially.
  11. I don’t know. Seems like you’re overreacting a bit.
  12. Sorry for giving my opinion on a message board. Thanks for your input, very valuable to the discussion. Can’t have it both ways guy. Telling someone their overreacting is not a great way to respond. Having a differing opinion is one thing. But I’m pretty sure you know this and will play the victim here. You’re good at it.
  13. Yes, someone doesn’t agree with your stance so it’s overreacting. Always love that take.
  14. I don’t get this comment. Maybe I missed something, but I always thought of Lucroy as a model citizen. I remember him supporting Braun a lot after the “exoneration” and then having quite a bit of egg on his face for the “un-exoneration” (though he wasn’t the only one). He also had to endure a massive amount of vitriol directed towards his wife after the suitcase incident, which was absolutely disgusting, even in this day and age. I’ve always liked him for this, and don’t get why some people dump on him now, except for the shirt he currently wears. Is that it? Never cared for him much after his comments about wanting to go to a winning team and then declining a trade was enough for me. Selfish dude (and they probably all are) but for me, he showed his true colors a few times. Always enjoyed that he missed out on a WS because of his decision and we made out like bandits from Texas that led to Yelich.
  15. I’m not sure Jimmy Nelson ever pitches for the Brewers again at this point.
  16. I have to say ... between what Williams has done this season, and Grisham's success, it's really nice to see a few of these former high round picks paying off. Perhaps things just clicked for Williams this year. So far so good. Patience. Development arch are not universally similar. This board is very quick to proclaim bust or superstar with these young players instead of just letting them develop at their own pace. Well-said. It’s just great to see our system developing talent. If nothing else good comes from this season, I think it’s that. Especially after the Burnes disaster (and maybe Peralta). We need young building blocks.
  17. Perplexing would be my word. He’s been dominating both AA and AAA all year, and his command has improved immensely over the last 7 weeks, to the point of hardly giving up base runners. Whatever, he’s up now and should stay up. Sounds like he progressed nicely and with the coaches at the proper level that got him ready for the call up this week. Great to hear from our organization considering that it wasn’t looking good for a bit.
  18. I think they have a philosophy with progressing players and I’m good with that. You can’t stunt growth if you do it too fast (and not fast enough). I think they take the best interest of the player into consideration with a lot of these decisions.
  19. Now be honest, do you think any of this is actually realistic to what the Brewers will do?
  20. Song slump is slowing with his bat. Still has some voodoo going on his fielding though.
  21. Until he plays us, and has a career series... I’m sure it’s possible. But he’s been bad for a bit now.
