Tough call on best trades to never happen. Lucroy axing the deal to Cleveland (and costing himself a possible WS birth) or the Mets declining Gomez. Both have brought us so much and I’m so happy they occurred.
Been hot lately and has few enough ABs that a hot streak bumps the numbers pretty quick. He's a good player. He just can't be relied on to be the #1 catcher because he wears down too much.
I’ve heard Maddon speak about the Brewers and he speaks very highly of them. He’s trying to win a division and move towards another WS trophy. Why wouldn’t he want to beat us?
Seeing Yelich's comments before the deadline about how last season the team saw firsthand how important mid-season acquisitions can be towards late season success, and now watching them throw Guerra and Hader on the mound for three days in a row is really disheartening. I am trying to stay positive, but this bullpen needed to improve beyond the margins. If it would have cost too much, I understand that, but without true bullpen upgrades the remainder of the season has an ominous feel to it. How do we know since they haven’t pitched yet?
Taking him out now at least gives us the possibility of seeing him in game two. Jopal78! makes a great point though. This team continues to show its true colors. This game should've been put away several times over and they couldn't do it. It's been that way for awhile now.
Could be the turning point in our season. To not have him over the next couple of days could come back to haunt Counsell. He has made some really questionable decisions this year to say the least.
Scares me, gives up too many KEY Hr's...see, Almora, Albert, and Davis, Khris to name a couple. Peralta's HR/innings as a reliever is the same as Hader's. Should have gone to him instead of a tired Hader.
He’s a slumping hitter. A bunt and a 2 out, nobody on single to left doesn’t change that. The fact that he is bunting with a runner on base and 2 outs tells me that he knows he is struggling. Yep. Hopefully that last slap single is a good sign he’s coming out of it. He’s been bad. Very bad as of late.
Not sure where you're getting that from. Career splits: vs RHP, 4257 PA, .751 OPS, .327 wOBA vs LHP, 1752 PA, .752 OPS, .327 wOBA You should probably use recent stats. Guy is a shell of his former self.
Say you put Moose at SS on a day where Chase Anderson pitches and gets 65% of the balls hit being fly balls. I know we can all post dramatic replies but it’d be interesting to know how much it truly matters.
