  1. Scooter is supporting a .294 OBP, a .627 OPS, and a 75 OPS+ so far(33 at-bats). It will be really interesting to track him this season and see if he is anywhere near what he did a season ago.
  2. Tonight after the game if he doesn't hit a homer.
  3. but we haven't seen as much from our competition, that's for sure... You are correct there for the most part but it is also easy to be blinded because we are fans of one team. There have been some pretty bad things on other teams as well. If it doesn't get better in a week or two, then it is a problem. Right now, I'm not too concerned as it is still very early.
  4. There is always sloppy play to begin the year in the major leagues. It isn't just a Brewers thing.
  5. That’s fair. They did over achieve. I think many just wish the simple mistakes would reduce but they haven’t. And errors and bad defense is contagious. At first glance I thought Boomer5 was having a conversation with himself. Lol My question is, are errors made on the field a managers fault? To me that speaks to the players way more. Mental errors could be a managers thing but how does one blame physical errors on a manager?
  6. The team won 86 games in a "rebuilding" year last season. We are 10 games into this season. The play has been sloppy but I wouldn't say it is a trend of this team under Counsell so far. I think both men, Counsell and Stearns, have a shared vision of where they want to see this team head to. The problem with winning last season is now there is less patience from the fan base. That's where this could get ugly. Hopefully, MA, Stearns, and Counsell can be patient enough to weather that storm and continue moving this franchise forward.
  7. Unfortunately, she passed away today, one week after my grandfather passed away. Needless to say, this week has been one of the most difficult weeks my family has had. Thoughts are with all of you. That seems to happen often where one passes and then shortly after the other one goes. Broken heart syndrome I think they call it. Either way, I feel for you and your family.
  8. From the sounds of it, Counsell and Stearns have a really good working relationship so this may be jumping the gun a bit.
  9. I think they want him stretched out don’t they?
  10. VIDEO: Willson Contreras Yells NSFW Insult at Brewers Pitcher After Triple Whoa.
  11. No, like.. he can’t play on defense. His elbow is messed up to begin the year. Might need surgery.
  12. I've seen it a lot from Santana, frankly. Bill Hall was notorious for a little walk down the first base line as he admired what he thought was a HR before having to sprint just to get to 2nd. Why don't these guys freaking hustle? These are, presumably, some of the best athletes in the country. Is it really that difficult to sprint 90 feet, 2 or 3 times a day? Yeah I don’t understand it either. I’m a little more lenient on the Villar one but they are both great examples why you run hard. Santana seems like a very selfish player. That’s just my read on him. Also could be why they added to their OF and tried to move him.
  13. I don’t even think Hiura has a hit yet this season and can’t play 2B yet either.
  14. What Santana did was something I’ve never seen Braun do in his career. Always runs hard. Usually makes plays close.
  15. Might as well be 30-0 the way the offense is going.
  16. 0-6 with RISP That’s how you get shutout. Facing a good pitcher but we gotta be able to bust through.
  17. Even with that being the case... when he goes colder is completely self inflicted. His patience lags his strike zone expands you see his floor. Most cold spells are self inflicted. That’s baseball. I just thought it was cool that they compared it to other notable Brewers. Edit: I think you are correct with Braun though and his inability to lay off a low and away slider. His numbers would’ve been that much greater had he ever figured that out.
  18. That's exactly what the rule is now, except for pulling the SP part. Didn’t know that. Well then it’s an easy adjustment.
  19. Ryan Braun is So Remarkably Consistent That Even His Cold Streaks Aren't That Bad Couple years old but interesting still.
  20. Aren't you pro villar? I'm not but got to admit, he's off to a real solid start. I only defend him a lot of the times because there are some posts that are pretty ridiculous towards him. Someone’s gotta be in his corner at times. But my post above was more so joking than anything else.
  21. Cain has been pretty bad after his hot start and just didn’t run out a ball that could’ve landed fair. Discuss...
  22. Asked for it before, I’ll ask again since you repeated it. Please provide any link or quote that shows he was almost trade during the off-season. Looked for it when you said it the first time and couldn’t find anything about that.
  23. It’s fine that he stopped when not getting a good jump but you can’t freeze. Dead meat doing that.
