  1. Yeah, I hear you on all parts. We just seem to pick apart some players and others we don't seem to mind much.
  2. Broxton out at third trying to steal = good hustle kid. Villar does it and everyone loses their minds. http://s.quickmeme.com/img/10/10f38cd121df7f0bcce42c5f19e8dbfc3790d20282aefdef975dd003a557c312.jpg
  3. If that 110 starts is at a Braun level and you have an over crowded outfield, I don't see it as much of a problem, if any. Just means you could play four guys out there more consistently than if he was out there for 140 games. Lets put it this way, there are 486 starts out there for three outfielders. If you added a fourth and gave everyone equal playing time, they would get 120 starts. With the way guys are these days, I'm perfectly fine with that.
  4. Anyone know the reasoning for a noon start time? Maybe it slips past me but I don't recall too many of those when we are at home.
  5. Braun a 4th OF? Come on man. He'll be penciled into that 3-hole for the next four years as long as he wants to continue to play. He is one of the best hitters in the game. Too many people get excited from shiny new things these days. I don't know, the Dodgers' shiny new toy is working out pretty well for them. I can see why they weren't willing to trade Bellinger. Did I miss something? Did Bellinger replace an MVP type player in the outfield for LA that they moved to being their 4th outfielder?
  6. Here is a good article talking about the impact of Braun on Thames and then some tidbits about being trading and such: USA TODAY ARTICLE

Too many people get excited from shiny new things these days. A shiny new thing looks pretty good when the alternative is an old, rusty, broken down thing. In case you haven't noticed, he's basically the 4th OF now. If he continues this trend of not being able to go on a regular basis, how can you possibly reserve a full time position for him in LF? (You also conveniently left out my first paragraph. Everything changes if he can stay healthy for an extended period of time.) You mean like he did, just a season ago? (135, 140, 135 the past three seasons) All this other stuff is so over reactionary to me. The dude rakes. Even when he's not 100%, he rakes. Even if he plays 120 games a season, he's worth it. Either way, he's not, nor ever will be our 4th outfielder.

  9. Yeah, this is my train of thought with it as well. The best will play and the rest will either not produce or will be moved to other teams for pieces for the future or to build even more depth at the MLB level. I think we worry more about this stuff than Stearns does.
  10. Both Peralta and Nelson should be pen guys. I don't care about young value for Peralta. He is what he is at this point. Guerra and Woodruff should take the rotation spots.
  11. Counsell must not get much sleep at night with the pen Stearns has assembled for him.
  12. Kirk N, there's an answer for you. Thames and Perez can handle LF for 10 days IF it happens.
  13. So you want to possibly miss out on having your best prospect for a whole season because you brought him up earlier than you needed to this season? Doesn't sound all that smart for our franchise to me. Why in the world would you miss out on him for a whole season? I'm not saying you need to bring Brinson up for the rest of the year. A couple weeks up in May isn't going to end up costing a service year. And if you don't prefer Brinson now there's also Phillips and Cordell on the 40. Anytime you bring up any of those guys, but a guy like Brinson in particular, there is no going back if they end up killing it. There just isn't a scenario right now that you start those clock on May 10th. They'd be better off sticking Perez out there if they put him on the DL.
  14. Didn't seem to score too many runs when he wasn't in the lineup.

  16. But he isn't. That's the point. So what? It wasn't a guaranteed out. Not even close to one. You're going way over the top on this. He's back in the lineup for his bat. The Brewers need that bat. And obviously with a negative MRI, the Brewers think they can push through this injury.
  17. If we had a better pen with some pitchers who realistically could go 2 innings here and there without getting smacked around, I think Counsell would be more inclined there to go with a pinch hitter. Until Stearns provides him a bullpen, I think I'd stick this seasons best pitcher out there again in the 5th too.
  18. No, he hasn't. He's not "some guy." Other than not throwing it to the correct base, the play at the plate would've been very close if he was 100% healthy.
  19. There is that low strike being called again. Comes and goes.
  20. Really nice to see Chase get out of messes on a night when you can tell he is fighting it a bit.
  21. I'm writing him off. He's a bust. Only for the fact that usually if I say things like that, it turns out the complete opposite way.
  22. You hover .500 long enough and anything can happen. Fun stuff!
