  1. The way pitchers are coddled these days is annoying but it's not changing. The entire mindset of what pitchers should be doing had changed and with it comes a more fragile product.
  2. He just said earlier today he's going to get him out of the late innings for awhile and let him get right. Wouldn't be a very good look for him to go back on that the very same day, especially if Feliz ended up blowing another. All that's fine and dandy but the rest of the pen is no different. Maybe it would've sparked him a bit to get the call in that instance, maybe not but it might've been a great. Sometimes you just gotta do weird things to get out of a funk. Think outside the box a bit.
  3. Strongly disagree that Sogard is easy to root for, but strongly agree that it is an optimal chance to get (Brinson/Phillips/Cordell's) feet wet and regular playing time. For chrissakes, we think Perez is a better OF than Brinson/Phillips/Cordell? Has nothing to do with that. Perez is there, plays a solid OF and needs the at bats. Why bring a guy up to basically sit the bench and to start service time? Just no need to bring any of those guys up if you don't have to at this point.
  4. I work with a big Angels fan and he was miffed at the time of the trade and pissed currently because it's working out the way he figured it would with Maldy. Doesn't hit his weight. Why trade for him?
  5. I love Lepay for big moments/plays. His calls are energetic and just sound good. If he wants to win over the rest he needs to do his homework.
  6. Villar scores on the the old 1st & 3rd play. Fun stuff
  7. Arcia flashes that power. It just makes you smile what his future could be.
  8. You just can't make this stuff up sometimes. Hilarious! I love it!
  9. Crazy to think how good the offense has been but could be even better.
  10. I'm not one who thinks Broxton should be a leadoff guy so I'm okay with sticking with Villar. He'll figure it out eventually and hopefully be deadly atop the lineup like last season.
  11. Adam I feel as though you're having a conversation with yourself! lol I can't believe how dead the forums are with this team playing such good, exciting baseball. Took me awhile to find the thread. Other than the homer, Garza tossing another nice game.
  12. Matt Garza rips Eric Sogard and his wife in offensive Twitter rant
  13. I'm sorry but I chuckled a bit when I saw who it was. Lots of people very excited to see certain players and it's Eric Sogard that comes up. All said and done, it makes little difference. Thames and Perez will be out in left anyways.
  14. I would be perfectly fine with them buying into Cooper playing 1B for 10 days while Thames roams LF. As much as Aguilar has had his moments, it would be fun to see Cooper get a shot.
  15. I'm perfectly fine with Rivera coming up and starting Thames/Perez in left for the 10 days. Rivera is good defensively and has done well at AAA and is on the 40 man.
  16. Hmm.. I thought we might have a few higher or even more in the top 100.
  17. Agreed but just not sure if it can happen. Getting TOR type guys will be tough for those three. Just not sure any are elite enough. Maybe paired with each other? I don't know.
  18. Creative. I'll give you that. But it's not happening. Villar will be at or near the top of the lineup most likely and Arcia is going no where. He is your shortstop now and for probably the near future.
  19. In a perfect world, Santana and Phillips combine into a mega right fielder, Brinson takes over in CF, Braun continues being Braun in left and we trade Broxton at his peak for a pitching prospect.
  20. We need SF to get their butts in gear if we want them to be a trading partner.
  21. Only problem is that you are down to only three bench players then.
  22. Did the Brewers not get Luis Ortiz, a first rounder, who is already at AA and doing quite well?
  23. This team needs more veteran grit. Kirk provides that. He could be the missing piece that holds our team together. Don't fight it.
