  1. I'd love to move on from Scooter and place Arcia-Villar up the middle. Scooter has been more than anyone couldve hoped but he just doesn't play very good defense.
  2. Susac is 26. He's done well at every level including a short MLB stint. It is time to mold him as the catcher of today. He is the highest rewards catcher we have right now. Maldy is what is he and can continue to be a backup player for his team. Or if some team wants a defensive catcher, make the trade. But Susac is at that age now where he needs to play and it's truly possible he could be our catcher going forward for awhile.
  3. Braun needs a full offseason to just work his butt off at 1B if they want him to move. Really next season could be looking at: Santana LF Brinson CF Phillips RF
  4. No, no........ Melvin is done taking blame (or credit). This is on DS. People act like Melvin only made bad decisions. If I remember right both Weeks and Gomez were very good MLB players.
  5. I figured sandwiched between Villar and Braun he would get primo pitches. That's why I would have him there and I think he projects to be a #2 hitter with his speed and decent power.
  6. I know you have been a big cheerleader of this guy and I've teetered being there with you. It's been great to see him with the success this year; playing multiple positions well, hitting a few homers, knocking in guys, and stealing bases BUT he still hasn't learned plate discipline. This will drive his worth down every time. I'm hoping he continues to get regular at bats to either figure that out or show that he's a utility guy only. Then we know.
  7. I think people also have too high of expectations as to what Arcia will be offensively. He's not going to be a Braun with the bat. But he's going to be one of the best defensive players we've had in a real long time.
  8. I had a dream last night that the Blue Jays claimed Garza. Oh please let this happen.
  9. If Arcia is the player they think he is, the team just lit 10 million (at least) on fire. So what? It's their money to light on fire if that's a true statement. They have a plan to get him ready to be the opening day shortstop for the 2017 Mileaukee Brewers. I don't see an issue with that one bit. This might be the first of many moves to establish next years team.
  10. Vs LHP: Villar 5 Arcia 6 Braun 7 Carter 3 Perez 9 Scooter 4 Susac/Pina 2 Broxton 8 Vs RHP Villar 5 Arcia 6 Braun 7 Carter 3 Scooter 4 Perez 9 Niewenhuis 8 Maldonado 2
  11. I like the move. If Arcia truly is the player people expect him to be, 2023 won't matter as they will sign him to a long term contract. I've stated before that Perez is not a starter. He's been hot as of late but again with no walks. His slumps will be atrocious because he doesn't figure out a way to get on base. He'll get plenty of opportunities in the OF and 2B. Maybe Flores won't get as much playing time
  12. To be honest it's probably a little more sad. Had to trade our best catcher in history in his prime because we did such a lousy job finding pitching to compete. I know this probably had to happen but it stinks that guys like Luc couldn't come up and be a part of the Brewers winning.
  13. Maybe they will be running behind.
  14. You might want to change it to 3:15. In case a cool down or celebration period is needed.
  15. This trade deadline couldn't be more annoying.
  16. Just like the Indians deal it will be with people non of us have even mentioned. Which is fine, and somewhat comical.
  17. Hold Smith. Let him regain more value next season. He's not himself.
  18. Let him finish in Colorado Springs. Those numbers will go up.
  19. Sweeeeeeeeeeeep!!!! See ya Pirates!! Back to single digits under .500, and the JV is 3-0!
  20. This is not meant to be a snarky comment but it doesn't have to make sense to you. These GM's feel their window is here and if their bullpen can get outs at the end of the game, they have a chance to win it all. Btw, I'm with you on it not making sense.
  21. Maybe they had to wait on the Miller trade to determine 4th player? High hopes.
  22. If Lucroy blew this for us...
  23. Only trading Garza for him would make me okay with this. Just let Pina play with Maldy.
