  1. I wonder if there will be more people at the ball park than usual today due to the NFL draft being in Chicago. Maybe some people looking for something to do during the day? Plus Arrieta.
  2. Okay can we get rid of Rivera now then and bring up a left handed bat like Cecchini? Too many light hitting righties that do much of the same (Hill, Rivera, now Perez). Or even better, dumping Hill all together. Not going to happen but one can dream. And Garza to the 60 day pretty much guarantees not reaching that bench mark of starts for the option.
  3. vs. RHP: .333/.366/.462/.827 Weirdly at home: .273/.304/.273/.577 I'm all for this guy being brought up and playing against righties over Hill. Even though I would like to see Walsh get a shot at some starts as well. Rivera would be a nice guy to send down but it leaves us no backup SS unless Hill is that guy and blah, just don't want to see that at all.
  4. No we are looking at a series split if we can somehow knock Arrieta off his pedestal and Jungmann figures it out. Tall order but that's why the play the games. On a side note, this would be a game I'd toss some money down on the Brewers in Vegas and hope for the upset!
  5. It's too bad he wasn't getting on base more.
  6. I just hope they make a quick decision so our bench isn't short. If Scooter needs DL time, then get Cecchini up here. Hopefully that guy will hit allowing less playing time for Hill.
  7. I never understand trying to knock down Gomez and his game. Yes he has some horrible base running at times but he also created a lot in that aspect as well. In terms of becoming the player people thought he could, what an amazing story and we got to see it first hand as Brewers fans. Not only that but he's a guy that actually wants to be in Milwaukee. That doesn't happen all too often. Also I can't imagine what it would be like to be in a new country and not know how to even order a meal at McDonalds. Talk about loneliness to some extent. No wonder it takes some of these guys longer to be good at baseball when all this other stuff is going on as well.
  8. This will be true unless Braun is OPS'ing 950-1000. If he's smoking the ball all season and returns to the MVP type hitter he is, fans will be all over him again. On a different note, with all those guys you mention hopefully coming up next year, it just makes me want Braun to do the previous mentioned and still be on this team. It will make it a lot easier on those players coming up to not have as much focus on their production if Braun is being Braun. A guy like Carter mashing can help that situation as well.
  9. This is completely true. Couldn't agree more. Doesn't mean I don't think a rebuild wasn't in order but fans do care who they are trading away. Now the argument can be made that it won't matter once they start to win again but that's IF they start to win again. There is no guarantee. If you trade away a Braun, who believe it or not is still loved in Milwaukee, there are repercussions that follow, ie. some fans not turning the gates at Miller Park. Those people won't be going to games because the team is losing not because of who is or isn't on the team. I disagree to some extent here. Some people come out to see certain players. I know if the Brewers traded Braun this season I wouldn't make a 3 hour trip over to the park. Some other examples would be the starting pitching. I try to time up my games to a pitcher I actually want to see pitch.
  10. I really hope you are not a coach of some sort. There is a reason that there is a saying "that's why they play the games."
  11. They will get a hit tonight. Niewenhuis is on fire!
  12. Long ways to go before July. Peralta could catch fire and throw out quality start after quality start. His last two outing have show drastic improvements so you just never know.

  14. Once your legs go, it is over. To steal a cheese movie quote, "the legs feed the wolf." In the case of Gomez, that couldn't be more truthful.
  15. It kind of sounds bad when the Brewers talk about it, but how many games does a player typically play anyway? 150-155? So maybe 10-15 games less? That really isn't a big deal. I wish I could figure that out but I think it would be in the 140's. Players don't play everyday anymore.
  16. A year ago Jimmy might not get out of that with only one across.
  17. I wish Jimmy had kept his pitch count down. We'll be lucky to get through 6.
  18. Rivera is now up for worst at bat of the year. My god man take the bat off your shoulders.
  19. Scooter hurt in batting practice? Rivera getting the start tonight now.
  20. Two another Suppan, Lohse, Garza on the way.
  21. I'll take 140 games of Braun over what most of the league has to offer. Much like the NBA is finding out, playing every game is probably not a good idea anyways.
  22. I would take Gomez back right now just because he is better than any other option we have. Problem with this thinking is that it doesn't allow anyone else a shot out there. Also we would have to give up something to get him which isn't smart at this point either. Couple that with Houston would look awfully foolish trading back a player to their original team after trading all they did in the first place to get him.
