  1. No reason for Reed to be up and playing CF everyday for this club. He's not a CF and to some of us, we value some defense out there. The Brewers aren't playing bad baseball right now and are competing. No reason to throw in the towel on the season and stick a guy out there that doesn't belong being out there.
  2. A win tomorrow and we're back at .500 heading into a home weekend series with the Phillies.
  3. There is something to it. If you can get to the pen early in series you can set yourself up later in series for going after a tired pen.
  4. Braun just missed that one. Dang. I like seeing a big guy like Carter hustle on down the line. Have noticed that more often than not from him.
  5. Followed by a great AB by Braun with a walk and the lead
  6. I think it's just another case of being in love with our own prospects a bit too much.
  7. Santana- RF Villar- SS Braun- LF Lucroy- C Carter- 1B Hill- 3B Rivera- 2B Flores- CF Nelson- P We just couldn't get two days off of Hill nor let Walsh start two games in a row now could we.
  8. Maybe it's just me but Reed is just a "guy" for this team going forward. An OF that has minimal power but gets on base, which we have seen not translate in the MLB as well. The fact that our corner OF's are both right handed and should never be out of the lineup make him even less appealing to me. Maybe I'm dead wrong on him but I'd bring him up, he's off to a great start, but caring about whether he is getting enough at bats is something I would do for a guy like Phillips. Reed, not so much. Let him pound away at lefties and a few righties here and there and play all the positions.
  9. Fixed. Reed doesn't need to sit for Niewenhuis... If we were talking a corner OF, I might agree to some extent but Reed is not a CF. I am okay with bringing him up to see what he has but there's no reason unless he is smoking the ball to basically make him the everday CF. Especially when you look through his minor league stats and they aren't even as good as Niewenhuis. Reed will eventually find his way to Milwaukee as a fill in OF, so hopefully people don't get their hopes up too much.
  10. This is the game I hope we just wax them. Get out onto a lead and let Nelson settle in and dominate the game. Give a chance for a series win tomorrow.
  11. Flores needs some regular playing time in the minors, agreed. I think he can be a productive 4th OF at some point but playing the merry go round in CF for him just isn't going to do it. Bring up Reed and play Niewenhuis. Let those two play basically 50/50 in CF and get those other guys some playing time.
  12. I'm hoping for winning 4 of 5. 10-9 heading into Wrigley next week!
  13. Walsh first, please. I really want to see Walsh's bat for an extended look.
  14. 3-5 road trip against two very good teams and a comparible team.
  15. 67 mph on that pitch. You don't see that too often.
  16. Nothing as of yet. Wily let on the first two runners in the 6th but there's now 2 out and runners at the corners. No damage yet. Blazek on. Blazek gets them out of it. Headed to the 7th with a 5-2 lead.
  17. Maybe Counsell? After his last start he did say Willy is close.
  18. I have to remember, no matter how bad some Brewers fans are, most of the time they aren't in the majority.
  19. Here's to many more! http://fair.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Cheers.jpg
  20. IF he doesn't lose this game, he will blow up the pen. We just got a break yesterday without having to use it, now Peralta will make a mess out of it - 43 pitches in two innings. Do the Math! Its April, they have a full pen and the DH. I wouldn't sweat it. Worse case they use a guy for 4 innings and rest him a bit. Plus a guy like Capuano in there. Let him blow out his arm if we have to.
  21. Braun is swinging a nice bat of late. Hope that continues. (and no, not to be traded)
