  1. No on Michael Bourn, yes on Jason Bourne. He brings a certain set of skills that we do not currently possess.
  2. Corey Hart..... 2013- did not play 2014- Was brutal in Seattle 2015- Was brutal in Pittsburg 2016- Brutal in Milwaukee? .... move on people. Yikes. Oh and he'll be 34 before the season starts.
  3. When (if) Lucroy is traded, we will all really know the direction of this franchise. Until then, this was a trade to move a piece who had no shot of being resigned. Granted we took on really young pitching "prospects" but that could just be a sign of what was truly offered for a guy like Lind.
  4. I think his job is pretty safe. We have no viable guy in the minors and why go pay more more to have a different backup? Might be some guys available via waivers that could provide us a better player. Just saying that his job shouldn't be concrete. Keep options open.
  5. I can get on board with signing Alvarez thinking we can get him hitting bombs into the short porch in right and then flipping him for a return in July. Hopefully a 1 year deal around $5-7mil outta do it. Maybe add an option year if benchmarks are hit? Let Rogers back up at 1B (start vs. lefties) and pinch hit. Had some success last season doing just that.
  6. If asked if I prefer to have 60 or 70 wins this season, I choose 60. The gains of Luc's improved bat in the lineup don't move the needle enough to matter. In fact, I'd say it negatively affects the future to win the 4-5 extra games with him in over Maldy. I think there's still something to finding players who can actually play. So far, what does Maldy provide us? It really hasn't been stable. His job should be in jeopardy this spring.
  7. I've always enjoyed watching Walker. He'd be a 2B I would love this team to have.
  8. I think Perez was given enough of a look to realize what he is.
  9. I'm laying down my money on Will Smith and Luc staying put.
  10. The more I look into them, the more I hate this. Well at least some got what they wanted. A bunch of young, controllable players (who will probably never step foot inside of Miller Park unless they buy a ticket). Awesome.
  11. Lucroy, the only name remaining.
  12. Hopefully we look back at this as a great trade but today, it's very underwhelming. I for one will miss Lind at the plate this season. (and yes, I realize he wasn't sticking around)
  13. Well hopefully the Mariners "deal" doesn't fall through. Count me in as a person a little disappointed that Zunino not being in on this. Would be an excellent guy to take over for Luc.
  14. Maybe they want Segura and Gennett?
  15. Jack Z was fired for drafting failures like Peterson and Zunino. Reminds me of old days when Bando lost his job for picking guys like Antone Williamson and Kyle Peterson (relation??). Zunino was supposed to be a finished product coming out of Florida. After all he was the 3rd overall pick. He's regressed since his rookie year. Peterson peaked in hitter friendly Cal League. My name is the same and my grandparents clipped out the article of Kyle Peterson being drafted by the Brewers and put it in my scrapbook as a kid. Wish he would've been a better baseball player but seems to have settled in nicely as a play by play announcer.
  16. Please, just let Schafer die. We've all had enough.
  17. Go big or go home. I like it.
  18. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/cubs-trade-starlin-castro-yankees.html That was quick.
  19. Hard to see Peralta being a fit there now. Dang.
  20. Really young and posted a pretty solid .364 OBP in the minors. I think a lot would depend on his catching ability as well.
  21. Where does Segura fit for them? Is Tulo not there anymore? This confuses me.
  22. Hopefully if a CF is acquired Davis is on the move.
