  1. While obviously this could change dramatically in the next 2-3 months, I just thought it would be fun to play around with for the time being. Here's mine as of 1/7/16: (Davis is traded in the offseason in my projection) vs RHP 1. Villar- SS (S) 2. Cecchini- 3B (L) 3. Lucroy- C 4. Braun- LF 5. Carter- 1B 6. Santana- RF 7. Gennett- 2B (L) 8. Broxton- CF Bench: Segura, Walsh, Nieuwenhuis, Peterson, Maldonado vs LHP 1. Villar- 3B 2. Walsh- 2B 3. Lucroy- C 4. Braun- LF 5. Carter- 1B 6. Santana- RF 7. Broxton- CF 8. Segura- SS Bench: Cechinni, Gennett, Nieuwenhuis, Peterson, Maldonado
  2. I think their job is to vote the most deserving and by not voting Griffey on that ballot is not doing your job correctly. Also, voting for a guy like David Eickstein should get your vote taken away in future years. Everyone can respect that man for how he played the game but give me a break.
  3. Kirk Nieuwenhuis is a lefty. Jonathan Villar and Collin Walsh are switch hitters as well.
  4. Guys that hit 30-40 home runs don't grow on trees anymore. There is value here if he does what he does. A guy that OPS's .750-.775 or maybe even higher is a good thing to add to this team.
  5. Dude has a gritty, battling quality that's going to carry him through it all. Yeah I like him as a player just know the board is not so on board with him.
  6. Shane Peterson survives again lol
  7. The nice thing is he OPS's about the same on both sides of the plate unlike a guy like Alverez.
  8. Good signing. Not expensive. Will be fun to watch put em in the seats and speed up the games by striking out a lot. Still young enough to be able to flip at the deadline to an AL team maybe.
  9. Deshields would be great to have but there is no way I'm letting Jungmann leave for just him.
  10. You mean when Cain and Escobar are 31-32 (both not FA's til 2018 and they are already 29) and they want to sign him to a similar contract as Gordon? Which by then, 2 of the 4 years of this contract will be over. Ventura wil be 30-31 by the time he's a FA as well. Oh and that will be in 2020, Gordon's contract won't even be on the team at that point.
  11. Braun's contract is actually about what the marker should/could pay him. He's still an elite hitter in today's game and if played in LF where he belongs, he's okay there too.
  12. $18m/year is a good contract for him. Let's not forget that he will be 32 coming soon (Feb) and he's no where near the hitter Braun was in his prime and he's not even the hitter Braun was last season. His defense is good but at the age he's at, decline is on the way in that department as well.
  13. MLB.com calls Ward “primarily a catch-and-throw guy,” noting that his arm and overall defensive potential should make him at least an MLB backup but that his hitting isn’t as strong. Baseball America (subscription-only) offers similar praise for Ward’s excellent arm but notes that his offense is a concern despite a bit of power, pointing out that he “lacks a natural feel for hitting.” And he's only had 200 AB's in the minors so listing stats isn't all that helpful even though he had a great first 200 AB's.
  14. 1, 2, 3 steps. Knee down. Rolls over. Drops the ball. INCOMPLETE? WHAT? Between that and the Stave fumble against Iowa. Just seems to be the Badger's DNA lately to blow games they have no business losing.
  15. When you have a QB like a Rodgers, you can't have a dry era in Wisconsin. They might go 1 and done this year like many think but they could also beat every team int he playoffs due to the fact that each week they line up, they have the best QB on the field (even if he hasn't played like it the whole season). Brewers baseball has had a quick restocking (and no where near complete) of the minor leagues which is very exciting to think about the near future when these guys start making headway towards the MLB team. Heck we haven't even traded our bigger pieces yet and people are talking about our farm team. The Bucks. Just way too young to write off this team. Badgers football- Shoulda, coulda, woulda..... NEVER should they have lost to Iowa or Northwestern this season. Hopefully Christ learns from this and has his team ready to go in those games. This team, which a not so great offense, should've been playing in the Big10 championship game for a fourth time. Although losing Aranda is a big loss, there is a lot of promise now that Christ is getting his guys into the program and not that hoser Andersen. Badgers Basketball- This team wasn't going to another final four for a few years whether Bo coached it or not. Too many mistakes in recruiting the last couple of years. It's a set back but it won't be the downfall of the program. They'll figure it out and be competitive while doing it.
  16. And if Lucroy, Braun, Davis, Garza are traded, ufffda, we'd be well into the low 60's for wins.
  17. http://www.profootballhof.com/heroes-of-the-game/selection-process/ Something like the NFL would work a lot better.
  18. It says he is already 25 which means he could be 30. Pass.
  19. Well then start taking quite a few of them out of the HOF then. Can't have it both ways. The HOF should be a museum of the best that ever played the game, mistake or not. Heck, put that on their plaques if you truly want to. It's a joke that a bunch of sports writers hold the keys to the castle.
  20. And I predict that the sun will rise tomorrow.
  21. The baseball HOF is a joke. Who cares? Until they get off their high horses and put the best players in the game in, it's a meaningless place.
  22. Did not realize this. Yeah that one kills any deal.
  23. Trading Lucroy for Ploufe literally makes no sense. If we are trading Lucroy it better be for prospects and high ceiling prospects at that.
  24. Why hasn't someone signed Dexter Fowler? I know his year wasn't superb last year but his overall career numbers look good for a switch hitting CF. Could he be had for cheaper than market and fill our need?
