Me too. Seems to have spunk. Has pitched well at every level. Hopefully he'll finish out this year strong and be our 4/5 man in next years rotation behind Nelson, Peralta, Jungmann.

Is it unrealistic to think he can be moved in the August waiver claim period? I would love this team to go into next season with absolutely no older vets on their staff and let these young guys go at it. It could look a lot like this: 1. Nelson 2. Peralta 3. Jungmann 4. Davies 5. Cravy/Thornburg/Wagner/Lopez Maybe I'm missing even more options but it just would be nice to roll out the young guys and try to have a very cheap rotation while we are in rebuild mode.

Sisco would be a very nice piece. A good looking catcher to be in the mix to replace Lucroy.

Boy, Jimmy Nelson is throwing the ball really well lately.

I would rather of just won with guys like Gomez on the team and in 25 years put his number up on the OF walls. Hate that there wasn't more success with him here.

I think Peterson can be a poor mans Parra while we are in the rebuild phase. But yes, his professional approach to the game will be missed.

You can tell the people on this board who would make lousy GM's. Patience is a huge quality in a lot of these types of situations. Not key that but none of us have a clue what has been offered for any of these guys. Like most places in life these days, people are going to complain no matter what happens anyways.

I think the point is to keep our younger guys innings down a bit but still allowing them to pitch through the end of the season. No need to burn out arms on a lost cause. I'd be all for letting Cravy take Lohses spot in the 6 man rotation though.

Is Conforto that big of a return to up it that much? Don't know much about him.

And yet 4/6th of our starting rotation is homegrown, cheap, and controllable for the foreseeable future. Not too shabby. Maybe there's not a true ace in the bunch but there are not that many teams with those types of pitchers.

That would be a solid REALISTIC return for Gomez. Maybe they can have Cotts or Broxton too. Go for it all and go Wheeler, Matz, Nimmo, and Smith for Gomez, 2 of Krod/Cotts/Broxton, and Segura or Parra

This I'm okay with. If he was a FA at the end of the season I wouldn't be but since he had one more year, there's always the winter meetings if they aren't blown away by Friday.

Man I hope the Royals can come through this year in the playoffs. Wonder if they are done adding pieces now or not. They could still use Parra, but do they have anything left to offer?

This is the type of trade I'd sure like to see. With Tyrone Taylor struggling, it'd be nice to have this guy and move Gomez.

I think most people are over the Braun snaffu. They'd be excited. He's hitting well. We may take WAR too literally these days as discussed earlier, but both Tulo and Braun have been worth 34 wins in their respective careers. Braun has done it in less years but has had more plate appearances/games (as we know - injuries). Both Braun and Tulo are at about 1.5 wins this year. Point being, I would absolutely take Tulo if given the choice, but their values are similar. I think GMs would agree that Tulo is more valuable...but not by THAT much. Maybe Fiers, Segura, and Krod will bring back Tulo (blue)

I've seen calculations that one WAR is worth about $7M, give or take $1M. Ramirez had a lifetime WAR (according to BR) of 7.3 with the Brewers; at $7M/WAR, that's a value of roughly $51M. Ramirez got a 4 yr/$50M deal; the Pirates are paying $3M of it. He didn't cost a draft pick. He was worth his contract. Lohse's career WAR with MIL is 4.6; while he's having an awful year, he was worth more than his contract the first two years of the deal. At $7M/WAR, that's a lifetime value of $32.2M; he signed for $33M. While he cost the team a draft pick, he is helping the Brewers get a better draft pick (likely top 3-5 and the bonus pool that comes with it) in 2016 instead of being a .500 team with a mid-first-round pick. Suppan absolutely was not worth it. But I hate to disappoint the Lohse and Ramirez haters; they have generally been worth their contracts. It completely depends on how you look at it. The MLB game is changing quickly. Ramirez & Lohse played zero playoffs games with the Brewers. Other than fooling the fanbase into a "Brewers are in it to win it" false hope mentality, their contracts ended up being completely pointless. That $88 Million (!) would have been much better spent on investing in young International talent. And losing a 1st Round pick to sign Lohse was horrendous You can't just keep on shoving money into scouting/developing and just hope for the best. Sometimes you have to pay for a player. They did with Lohse and Ramirez and they lived up to their contracts for the Brewers. Justifying it by playoff appearances is silly. There was more to the story than the play of these two players.

Need more than that for me.
