  1. Enough. Krod has pitched very well this season. He's done his job. Another W!!! Sure would be nice to win the series tomorrow. Let's go Fiers!
  2. Coupling this deal with a Gomez trade to the Mets for SP like Syndergaard and/or Matz and the Brewers re-build could be relatively quick. If we can turn Lucroy, Garza, and Gomez into Swihart, Moncada, Cecchini, and Syndergaard, I would be ecstatic. Our farm system should instantly jump into the top 3rd of teams. I would put 3 of those 4 as our top prospects ahead of Arcia/Coulter. That is a pretty darn good top 5. If we got all that, screw the farm. Put them on the team and let Counsell mold them into pros.
  3. Zunino is a young and a former top prospect. I doubt they're ready to give up on him yet. Would they take on Lucroy for him? Plus they throw in Paxton and another prospect arm and we give Lohse or Garza? Helps them go after it now while we "retool."
  4. Cotts is really bad. Why did we spend that money. I guess at least it's only one year.
  5. I like it. Could Moncada fill the hole at 3B himself? Maybe we get an arm in the deal instead of Ceccihini? Segura Gennett Arcia Sardinas Moncada All to fill 2B, 3B and SS... Yes please.
  6. A candidate to be on our team if Lucroy was traded ASAP.
  7. Or maybe they feel for a lot cheaper, Rogers can do just as well of a job. Or even Clark. Maybe they see the progress with those two and realize that they can also add a piece for the future and not drop off at all or much at all with the two in house guys?
  8. I would want more than one prospect though. And, where would Correa fit in our picture? We have Arcia coming in at SS, does Correa move to 3B?
  9. Counsell is winning me over already with getting rid of Schaffer. Now, send Davis (.209/.289/.314 - .603) to the minors and he either gets back on track, or he doesn't. Call up Clark and I like what we have starting and for a bench. STARTERS: C- Lucroy 1B- Lind 2B- Gennett 3B- Aram SS- Segura LF- Braun or Parra CF- Gomez RF- Parra or Braun BENCH: C- Maldonado IF- Herrera IF- Gomez 1B/OF- Clark Corner IF/OF- Rogers and I think we have something.
  10. It would be nice if Garza could give us 7 innings tonight to save on the pen a bit after Lohse's 5 innings yesterday.
  11. I think Lohse is destined to be a pitching coach really quickly after he retires. I like the things I hear about him. I agree. I feel as though he would make a good one. Heck, if he doesn't start pitching better, that may come quicker than he may want.
  12. It's simple. If Lind continues to swat the ball like he has so far, we'll get a nice return. (the Estrada thing won't matter) If he slumps and plays lousy D, he'll play out his contract and we'll probably let Rogers have a try at it next season. The getting him for a crappy player won't make a difference at all if he proves that he can stay healthy and hit like he can. He's been a big asset so far.
  13. If he continues, and of course he could crash, at what point in the season do they move him up? He's already 23 years old (I think). He's no spring chicken in terms of prospect years.
  14. Trading Lucroy and Gomez is the key to any sort of rebuild. If we hold on to them, it isn't a rebuild, its a load back up and try to compete. Either way, have a plan and attack with that plan. If they are going to rebuild, than get as many high ceiling prospects as they can. If they are going to re-tool, then trade a few of the pitchers for some MLB ready guys, sign Zimmerman in the offseason and lets go at it again. Just don't stick in limbo with the franchise. Make a decision and go at it.
  15. Big win. Big, big win. Morale is lifted. We just knocked off the best pitcher in the game after he was rolling pretty much all game. Love it. Time to catch fire Brewers. Time to catch fire.
  16. Should be 3-2. Hate giving away runs like that. Dang it.
  17. Hoping Counsell lets him pitch another. Such a small chance we come back against Kershaw. Let him eat another inning.
  18. How long of a leash does Davis get? Just feel like the league has really figured him out.
  19. I like that he's at .308 vs. lefties so far too. Granted only 13 at bats but it's a start. Hopefully it is the diamond in the rough this organization needs.
  20. Did you hear Counsell? He said the changes he has in store will be for the most part behind the scenes. Roenicke was fired because he wasn't getting the best out of his players. It's incredibly telling when the guy performing the best relative to expectations is Lind who hasn't been around a Roenicke clubhouse prior to this year. I completely agree with the comments he made about lineups and pitching changes being overrated. It's something for us fans to talk about, but it wasn't the lineup or pitching decisions that got Roenicke fired. It was his inability to get players performing to their abilities. That's all preparation, motivation and tone setting behind the scenes. No, unfortunately I can only get away from work a couple minutes at a time. Thanks for sharing that with me though. Interesting...
