I wish the NL and AL managers just selected the teams based on who is deserving instead of fan vote. Market size is too varied for it to be a fair vote. Or even better yet, if there was a panel of ex managers that did it and they managed the teams. So like LaRussa could do NL and Torre could do AL this year and then rotate in guys like that who are deserving. Maybe let the fans vote on that. Gomez should start in CF, Braun (Puig) and Lucroy (Molina) should be reserves. Sergura with a hot month, could be a reserve as well. As far as pitchers, Lohse should be there. Krod and Smitt are also deserving.

Lohse has been everything to the Brewers. As close to an ace as they've had since CC and Greinke because he's just so consistently good. Not only that but he seems to be a leader for the Brewers clubhouse with some of the younger pitches. That's great to hear.

Predict the Brewers record in June -2014 (18-10)
pacopete4 replied to lcbj68c's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
1 vs CHI (1-0) 2 vs MIN (1-1) 2 @ MIN (1-1) 3 @ PIT (2-1) 3 @ NYM (2-1) 3 vs CIN (1-2) 4 @ ARIZ (2-2) 3 @ COL (1-2) 3 vs WASH(2-1) 4 vs COL (2-2) 15-13 is what I'll go for. I'm not sure why, because they are playing some bad records this month, but I just don't have the greatest feeling with it. -
Here you go, sir. Pizza's almost here, so I'll be leaving the bar open while I eat. Speaking of pizza i discovered pizza hut now charges for marinara sauce... how ridiculous. Very. The Hut has gone down hill a lot in my book. Rather eat a dominos.

I get excited when we face a lefty. Always feel like we will have a great offensive night.
-
I think most people just discredit him because of his smaller frame. He has more pitches than yo, better velocity, and nasty break on his off speed stuff. If he was say 6'5'' and had a fluid delivery I think most people would be as excited as they are about nelson. Meh, to me that doesn't matter. If you can pitch, you can pitch, no matter what frame you have. I just don't see consistency from him at all. Ball flattens out and I'm not sure about his control. Comparing him to Yo is not great either. Thorny is 25, and at that age, Yo was being selected to all star games and being in the mix for a cy young. Apples to oranges. Yo never gets the credit he deserves from us.
-
I'll eat my shorts if Thornburg is ever our #2 pitcher. I just do not see it. He may be a #4 at some point, but that would be about as high as I could see that kid going. He may just be right where he belongs in the bullpen, if he can figure that out.

Random MLB News & Discussion 2014
pacopete4 replied to Warning Track Power's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
As much as their is some distaste for Ned, isn't this more on the GM than anything? Obviously he felt that his farm system was better than it is and he did not take the proper moves via trades, free agency to bolster the roster. I mean look at the Smith for Aoki trade. Completely ridiculous that he traded that left handed arm away for an aging, average to maybe slightly above average player. -
Honestly one of the coolest videos I've watched in awhile. Glad he's on our team.

The "This Cost Us the Playoffs in 2014" thread

Quite possibly biting the bullet for one of his players. -
Slap one the other way man.
-
What goes unnoticed was the horrific 1st pitch swing from Reynolds. Basically swinging like he was down 0-2
-
Some of this base running stuff is just too comical coming from mlb players.
-
Might be time to either scrap the closer role and go with matchups or put Smith in that role.
-
Take him out now
-
At least 3 times this game we've not scored a runner with less than two outs and a runner at 3rd but we scored 6 runs, this is in the pitching staff. Krod all over the place now.
-
Knock one outta here Rickie!!
-
I'm sorry but if they play with no 3B, you should bunt every time.
-
Boy did Braun not take kindly to his liner being caught lol
-
Poor positioning maybe. Didn't see lack of effort.
-
Ruh roh. Limit the damage or were in big trouble.
-
Hardy is a very nice shortstop but Gomez is a game changer. We won that trade. We won that trade. Although if it were a video game, I'd probably trade back for Hardy and put him either at 3B or move Segura to 2B lol
-
94 pitches... guy he was gonna face was 2-2 off him already.. Not a horrible time to pull the string. What a great Major league debut though. It's not his debut. He pitched for us last season. But yes a very nice game.
-
Get real. Let him finish the damn inning. I could understand if there was no one out but come on.

Scouts are wrong, a lot. So I wouldn't put too much into it.
