  1. I agree with Legacy to some extent. There is something to be said for guys knowing where they will hit each day. Consistancy is good for them. Obviously if Braun was out for 15 days the lineup should be changed around a bit.
  2. I might be crazy but I don't think a rotation of Gallardo, Parra, Suppan, Bush, Villanueva/McClung is all that bad. I think it's better than most teams starting pitching. If we are in it at the dead line then maybe another move is made. I think that it wouldn't be unreasonable to have a down year after going for it this year.
  3. Isn't that exactly what Cameron is? If he plays the additional 25 games in the beginning of the season, by the end of the year you're looking at a gold glove caliber CFer who hit 30+ HR's. If his avg ends up at .230 oh well. His OBP is good enough. 10 Million next year for Cameron is a great deal. Keep the outfield exactly the same.
  4. I think most peoples issue with you rluzinski is that you are condescending, irritating, and generally have the attitude that you know more than anyone else about the topic at hand. Would it have been that difficult for you to let someone be excited about their point of view? They believe that the Brewers will benefit from having two extra games left as compared to another team. You are right depending on where those games are played could make their point irrelevant. That said, we should all be excited about the way the team is playing right now.
  5. HOLY COW! WOW!!!! Mike Rivera!!!!!!! Sorry, got excited, edited to be PG
  6. eh... Counsell's Pitches seen per at bat this year 4.08, career 3.99 Branyan this year 3.62, career 4.06 Counsell seeing 1 extra pitch per two at bats, willing to concede this is a dumb thing to prefer Counsell for, I guess it's just personal preference there. I've watched him play between AZ and Milwaukee long enough that I think he's worth putting on the field. Even if Counsell isn't a better option than Branyan I don't understand the complaining about Counsell, or Yost's playing of Counsell. I don't think he hurts you when he's on the field. It's not like we are throwing Keith Ginter or someone out there. Counsell has been around forever and I see value in having him on the field.
  7. I don't see the problem with Counsell playing third against RHP. The line up has enough power to it. I like Counsell in there to take a few pitches, work the count and be a veteran presence. You never know what will happen down the stretch and it's good to keep him involved.
  8. Would voters completely discredit or not even look at his performance with the Indians? I know that the numbers aren't great, largely because of his first few starts but the loss total is deceiving and shouldn't be looked at. He was on a bad team. I think if he ends up with 19 or so wins total for the year and stays close to the pace he's on he should win it. That's a big if though. His performance since the trade is nothing short of incredible. Who averages 8 IP and 1.5 ER for a half a season?
  9. After reading so many comments about how many errors Lee has saved Ramirez I just wanted to throw this out there. How many errors did Braun have that Fielder didn't help? Is it possible that another year or two and having a great first baseman would have been enough to keep Braun as our every day third baseman? I appoligize for not having researched this as to how many of his errors were throwing but I seem to remember that most of his errors were throwing. As a college shortstop he always seemed to be able to field well enough it was the throw to first. If Overbay were playing 1B I just have to wonder if we have our every day third baseman for the next ten years in Ryan Braun.
  10. I'm ok with the first shove, the second one isn't the worst thing, it's that he make have continued if not restrained. After reading TH's blog about what happened Parra isn't exactly innocent here. I've read 9+ pages about how Prince is immature and has a bad attitude but very little about how Parra acted like a child with the way he grabbed his jacket and hat. In the heat of the moment I understand why Prince took it the way he did. I agree with Prince that the whole team was there to watch Parra give the game away he needs to stay and watch everyone else attempt to clean up his mess. Parra needs to know that this is a pennant race and every start counts. 6 runs in 6 innings to the Reds in unnacceptable. Everyone needs to cut Prince a little slack. He should not be suspended. A suspension doesn't allow the team to move on the next day. When they spend the whole game with a different first baseman it's a constant reminder about how 2/25 of the team lost control.
  11. 1. Braun 2. Fielder 3. Sheets 4. J.J. 5. CC
  12. Man has JJ cooled off. Hasn't had a hit since Monday. Atleast 0 for his last 16. Can't remember when his hit came in that game with the Cubs.
  13. Like, I know! At the end of the day, we may only be 11 games over .500 going into August! How terrible! http://images.cafepress.com/image/17881926_400x400.jpg They just got swept at home, by the cubs, who are in first place. You don't see any reason signifigance to that? It's just another game in July? Wake up.
  14. Ballgame. Season. Atleast I won't have to justify to my wife spending our savings on playoff tickets, airfare, and hotel.
  15. To be fair the called third strike to Rickie wasn't right down the middle, it could have gone either way.
  16. It's refreshing to see a brewers player use his head. I'd like to see Counsell play a little more than he has.
  17. It's not just one game. This was the best chance we have out of all 4 games. A loss tomorrow would be devestating. Its harder to take a loss like this when its at Miller Park and there are so many Cub fans there. It's sickening.
  18. CC and his kid brother! awesome D!
  19. Whats with Corey? He's not going after any of the shallow fly balls. HUSTLE Corey! Maybe still the stomach virus? Afraid of diarrhea when diving?
  20. What about McClung's ability to strike batters out at a much higher rate? Really? You don't see a huge difference between McClung and Suppan? Have you been watching? Suppan, 33 year old soft tosser 4 quality starts in his last 10. 4.80 era 1.60 whipMcClung 27 year old hard throwing, 5 quality starts in his last 10. 4.35 era 1.40 whip Despite being Yosted. He started pitching well when his roll changed to starter, He's young and has potential and is being paid 750,000 this year versus Suppans 8,250,000. So tell us again how they are virtually the same player.
  21. This would be a nice win going into the Cubs series, keeping the momentum going. Do we see Kendall sit today? It will be interesting to see who Ned puts out there.
