  1. And OP, my posts are not directed at you. It's fair topic. I heard about this all day today on the radio. Personally, I think Hank was a replicant all along. I think Deckard should investigate.
  2. This has to be the dumbest story of the year. Homeless Hank vs. Pampered Hank. It reminds me of the Blink 182 video for "The Rock Show." You know, the one where they replaced a homeless guy with someone well groomed and well dressed? NOT THE SAME GUY!!!!
  3. MLB has put together an excellent 30 second video that explains the new rule. https://twitter.com/CJNitkowski/status/703042446956077060
  4. I really don't care if Brewer announcers move on. I just want them to be good when they're here.
  5. I was afraid this might come together when Fowler went so long without signing in free agency. Moving Heyward back to RF while having a solid CF who doesn't break the bank is a win/win for the Cubs. Heyward is exceptional in RF. Plus, they can trade Soler for something better than the draft pick they would have gotten had Fowler signed elsewhere.
  6. I just don't see him blocking a trade to a contending team (and presumably only a contending team would want to trade for him) when the alternative is to stay in Milwaukee for several seasons of rebuilding.
  7. If he shows he's healthy after back surgery he's very tradeable. But he needs to prove it on the field first. His contract is no longer a road block if he's healthy.
  8. Perhaps the Brewers will need to add another minor league team with all the young talent they are acquiring.
  9. I didn't think Segura was worth a bag of baseballs. I guess I forgot Dave Stewart was a GM in the league. I especially like the idea of eating some salary for 2016 (Aaron Hill) in order to get a player who might be valuable for years to come. The Brewers payroll is low allowing them to add a couple of a short term bad contracts.
  10. The ball and glove should be the primary logo. It's a brilliant design. While I'm at it I should say I am not a fan of contrasting jersey and pants. The last few years it seems like the Brewers have played most of their home games with white pants and blue jerseys. It's a dumb look. Home needs to be white on white.
  11. I'm actually getting excited to think about the young kids that will be playing this year. It's like going to the casino. You'll probably lose--but you could win some big hands. (Edit - written by someone who never goes to the casino. Maybe watching the Brewers this year will be my form of gambling)
  12. I thought the same thing when reading the list.
  13. I like Joe Block. Pretty vanilla, but I like that in a baseball announcer.
  14. Baseball on its way to becoming the only programming that isn't easily available to stream online. Since I got 100 mbps Internet, I can stream just about anything in HD with no lag or buffering, ever. I can watch 4 games at once on my laptop. There's no reason for me to ever subscribe to cable/satellite again. Myself and many, many others have been streaming in-market baseball games for years. I've done it for the last 5 MLB seasons so this is nothing new. It's easy to set up a VPN or find another source. I'm not complaining, I'm just waiting for MLB to catch up to the inevitable. Baseball is a unique sport with respect to its market. So I don't see things changing too soon. But I have no doubt that (edit--people) will find a way to steal that which they cannot buy (at their price anyway). They've done their part to destroy the music industry and now they're setting their sites on the sports world.
  15. This is where the current rules are broken. I don't have any sympathy for someone who is truly in market and complains about not getting Brewer games when they choose to stream their content online and not get cable or DirecTV. You made your bed... But for people in Iowa to be considered "in market" for Milwaukee is completely stupid. There are many examples of this stupidity.
  16. Subscription prices have been cut, among other things mentioned in the article. I understand fees have been cut. But people like me who live in the Milwaukee market still can't watch the Brewers without a cable subscription. So really, nothing has changed. Get cable or DirecTV. Problem solved.
  17. Cord cutters should not expect to receive all the content they would get with cable. There's a cost to cutting the cord and this is one of those costs.
  18. Where does he rank in the last two seasons? Even if you include his fluke 4.0 WAR (BRef) 2013 season, he's in the bottom fifth of starting shortstops. He's filler--a/k/a "just a guy"--not someone you plan for your future with and not someone who has any serious trade value. I'm not suggesting the Brewers release him. He's the best shortstop they currently have on the roster and they need to have someone in the lineup with SS next to his name. He can keep the job until Arcia comes up (whenever that may be). Since the Brewers need to lose all the games they can in 2016 I'm fine with Jean Segura and his 68 OPS+ in the lineup every day.
  19. The Raiders won't go to San Antonio. But they sure as hell will use San Antonio as a bargaining chip.
  20. Giving up Matt LaPorta for Sabathia was a big mistake. He's was going to be the Prince Fielder replacement and is a sure fire All-Star. Quality GM's don't trade prospects like this for rentals. You just don't. Thankfully we have Mat Gamel to fall back on.
  21. Segura is MLB filler at this point, as the Brewers have to put a shortstop on the field to fill out their lineup. I doubt he has any real value trade-wise, and certainly has no future with the Brewers.
  22. I didn't realize the Brewers' LF was making that much per season.
