1. Nunez was suspended 10 games for that sucker punch.
2. Is this thread an inside joke?
3. I'm an attorney and I've had multiple clients who are former Packers or Brewers who were killed in real estate circa 2008-2013. Like life changing losses. Just saying...
4. This. If you are member of this site and complained about K-Rod when he played for the Brewers you are free to continue posting in this thread what a scumbag Chapman is.
5. I don't think he's walking away from any money. It's a guaranteed contract. His "retirement" is related to a playing injury.
6. That's some great stuff.
7. They wouldn't lose a year of control. The player would go through arbitration 4 times rather than 3. Same number of years of control.
8. Maybe he didn't want to sound as silly as you sound writing it on our message board? Who knows? Hard to dive into some people's minds. Given the fact that Wilkens is hitless in his stint, I don't think it's a silly comment. I'm pretty sure Zach Davies could muster zero hits in the same amount of plate appearances.
9. Yeah, results are the definite way to judge a move. It was an obviously low upside move from the beginning as was identified by several people in this thread when the move was first made.
10. Wilkins goes 0 for 4 with no starts in his stint with the big club. Brilliant move.
11. Spoken like a Fantasy Baseball owner. In real life, it's not the case. Baseball players are real human beings with thoughts, feelings, and opinions. The way to get the best out of them, in this day and age anyway, is not to treat them like chattel if you can help it. Stearns crapping on Zach Davies to get a couple of meaningless plate appearances out of marginal player is not a good use of human resources.
12. Poor move by Stearns and for what? Basically nothing. I could *possibly* see a move like this for a team scrapping to win every game to eke into the playoffs, but that's clearly not the case here. I hope Stearns learns from this that he's not a Fantasy Baseball general manager and his decisions can adversely affect players. Edit - I think this is the first time in history I've ever sided with Scott Boras on an issue. Nice job Stearns!
13. He should be banned from MLB parks for at least a year. I'm a former Marine and this thing pisses me off. I've also got some ire for the person who sold the ticket. This guy is a straight up loser. Edit - and what makes me even more steamed is that this guy poaches baseballs from kids all the time. During the 2013 Brewer season a guy two rows behind me caught a foul ball and gave it to my son (then 9). You'd have thought my son was handed a bar of gold. That ball sits in a case on our kitchen island to this day. And this clown Hample makes it his life's work to keep balls from kids. Shameful.
14. I will respectfully disagree.
15. I wonder if the people who love the ball in glove logo are largely of a certain age? Say, people who came of age watching the Brewers in the late 70's and into the 80's. As someone who was born in 1970 I'm definitely one of them. While I want a full return of the ball in glove logo, the colors are negotiable for me. I'd be OK with the color blue they currently and more of a true gold rather than the original yellow.
16. I'm all for a full-time return of the ball and glove. It's one of the best logos ever.
17. He was fatigued. He told his manager so. I have no problem then. If it was "he's at 100 pitches get him out," that would be dumb in my view.
18. I'm tired of the pitch count police. Pitchers today throw fewer pitches than ever and still get injured at historic rates. Pitchers should be removed from games when they are fatigued not when they reach some magical pitch count milestone.
19. I only got about halfway through that article. I'd rather watch the Hank the Dog press conference three times over before I'd waste my time finishing that article. Who is Ben Bromly? And is he usually seen shouting "get off my lawn!" from his porch?
20. Get off my lawn! Was the first thing I thought when I heard his comments earlier today.
21. I love Brian Anderson's work and I'm glad he's staying for awhile. I always thought he would leave for a bigger gig but I guess not.
22. I agree 100%. I have a black cocker and when his fur grows out he looks like a little bear cub. When I get him cut all over he looks like a black lab puppy. In fact, I had neighbors ask if I got a new dog after I first got him cut short. He looked like a completely different dog.
