  1. TBS K zone was a joke during Cubs/Pirates game. Guy must have Parkinson's clicking those dots. Strikes were 3inches out of the zone. Just get rid of that zone map if you're completely incompetent on placing those dots. Way misleading on where the pitches were and the ump's zone calling.
  2. So, I'm a little past this update. But what's not bugging me is Cancer anymore as my Dr. gave me the news of my MRI being perfectly clean showing nothing of concern. That was Aug 21st. I've also gone back to working normally without restriction. Next MRI will happen end November I believe. I basically went through a 5month battle. So lucky to get by so easy. I feel like I cheated the normal cancer experience. I worked in a less capacity within 1month of diagnosis and was back to working full capacity in 5. Aside from occasional nausea and fatigue causing 9+hrs sleeping daily, I cant really think of any tough part to the whole process.
  3. Well, Mr Allen. I took 5th. Was stomped in the Playoffs 1st round. Wasn't a very healthy year for the team. I needed at least one more high quality bat than high quality SP as my bats weren't up to task...Didn't help Rendon was a wasted early pick. The Pitchers, man It seemed like all my studs would alternate having 2-3 a week just plain suck. Oh well, can't get you the 50 buyin as promised. As to my other League that I've played last 5years. I won handedly a new division format. Best record overall and finished it with a very tight win in Playoffs to capture the overall Championship. I worked Sunday unfortunately and didn't get to follow the matchup the final day. Nothing but Ks was decided by more than 4. I had a .43ERA/.87Whip last day and eeked out ERA/Whip by a few hundredths. Won by 1HR. And BA/OB by few hundredths. I think I had to have been behind at some point during the day. Missed out on the nailbiter experience.
  4. This occurrence has got to be so far off thought, you don't plan for. 3 teams in same division having pretty much the best records in Baseball? Shouldn't the Leader or 2nd place team have knocked down that 3rd a peg? Shouldn't 1 of the other 2 division winners have at least gotten a better record than the 3rd place team? The crappy thing is among the argument of Pitts/Cubs having their 1 game playin is that the winner then plays St Louis! So Boom! 2/3rds of the best records in baseball will be gone in the divisional series. Both those teams may be better to be in the World Series than any other Playoff team and would win a series vs all of them if given the chance. But instead, they'll be gone never getting to prove their true talented selves.
  5. I like the "Brewers will target rotation help this offseason" and then list Kennedy a possibility? What's that helping? creating a logjam of which #3/4 SPs to pitch? Help would be signing a legit #2/Ace. Anything else is creating logjam. Brewers have a full roster of #3/4s to start next season
  6. 5th probably truly is the best (valued) pick to have for the draft. Cough up 4mil for your choice vs 5,6,7,8 among the top 4. Let's face it, likelihood is the pick will sign to slot. Odds most likely are the team is drafting a ML player. Just like the 4 ahead of them, but half the price as #1 and 1-3mil less as 2-4. I'm happy to have the 5th pick. the worry of climbing beyond 7th didn't come true. Should be a fun prediction game every month we draw closer. Will be easier to draw down what will likely be there and potential draft choice compared to last season.
  7. Ah, top 5 pick with a loss? Or pick #6 with Lopez having a good outing and Brewers closing out the season with a win? Well, since MP likely is Wrigley North I'll shoot for a 5th draft choice and Lopez having another 6ip 3ER type outing that leads to the loss. Of course Oakland just has to win final day and doesn't matter what happens in this game it is 5th pick for Milwaukee. Go A's! Go Lopez! I'm going to guess this is a bullpen filled affair unless Lopez is pitching 2ERs and less. He'll probably be removed in the 4th inning/5th inning otherwise.
  8. Agreed with Reilly. That pitching motion seems like he's showing the ball to the hitter vs hiding it as long as possible. I think batters...ML ones will pick up on his pitches sooner and figure him out quick. This vs Fiers who's delivery hid the ball better. I hope for the Brewers KRod gets some well deserved trade offers. Such a well located change up. Easy to set batters up for Ks or ground ball outs. Jeffress' excitement/emotion showing may be a call of his to garner closer consideration, should KRod get traded. Gotta Love man on 3b 0outs and Ks the side to end the threat. What a closer should be capable to do. I missed Smith's inning, but know he's got a nasty slider vs LHB. If I had my choice I'd put Wagner in the Pen and get Thornburg Starter ready for 2016 so long as he's healthy.
  9. After watching Wagner pitch last night, I'm not to high on his pitching form. I don't think this strategy will work since it hurts all the pitcher involved value. The SP has to get through 5IP to qualify for the win and you're suggesting having them pulled before they likely get 5IP. So talking about having SPs with 0-14 records. Meanwhile these 2nd pitchers to go would likely be 10-3 since they qualify for the W and come in to a game either behind or tied to pitch to Ws. As for next season I see Nelson, Jungmann, and Davies for sure. Garza will get his chance. Peralta is who I've campaigned for to get traded(He'll turn in to Jake Arrieta of course) and the #5 SP then is a who's pitching the best among the AAA guys. Lopez would be best bet, but Cravy, Wagner are there if one is doing better than the other. Josh Hader is an up and comer option like Lopez. I think the team will be fine come trade deadline dumping both Garza/Peralta and moving ahead. Jeffress/Knebel are the future closers when you can part with KRod. Smith/Pena/Blazek with having Wagner or Cravy as longmen...oh and Thornburg. Seems the pitching is set for 2016.
  10. Here, here is the Free Agent signing for this offseason. I just want to say. I'm thinking the Brewers are in for a quick retool back to competitiveness. The team is possessing a lot of talented pitching to plug in to the lineup. Nelson, Jungmann, Peralta, Davies, Lopez, Devin Williams, Cody Ponce, Victor Diaz, Marcos Diplan, Josh Hader, Kodi Medeiros. oh and Nathan Kirby but that's a project now. Yes maybe not Aces, but how about becoming #2s? Ponce and Medeiros I think are types who will have quick rises to the Majors. I wouldn't be surprised if Ponce made on the ML roster before the end of 2016. 2016 can be the year to trade Peralta if he's doing well at the deadline with this depth of SPs. And then you add Santana, Phillips and Arcia to the batting order mixed with Braun and Lucroy. You've got Davis/Lind as future trades one or both. You're looking at very little needed to fill out your 25man. 1b will not happen anytime soon(Braun's addition withstanding) 3b well Hwang right here? 2b. Sardinas is my guess at the moment. He's due for growth. The bullpen has been addressed nicely and obviously guys among all those SPs who don't cut at can be dropped in to the Pen. Or put there because don't have room in SP. Hader and Ponce are ideas already should the staff be stable enough to not need them. The team still has the trades forthcoming. Gotta believe an impact prospect will be added. Lind, Davis, Lucroy, Peralta, KRod, 1 or 2 of Gennett, Segura, Sardinas, Perez. Haven't even delved into the plethora or hopeful hitters acquired in drafts/International signings recently. They are a few years away but who knows? Real talents when they get it likely move up the ladder very fast. There's a lot of depth here to use in 3-4years where I think the team can flip and acquire your TOR SP if one or multiples of our own don't appear. Plus #4, 5, or 6 in this next year's draft which you can acquire 1year to Majors talent...Cubs Kyle Shwarber showing just that now. Why is it like this suddenly? Home Grown Pitching talent that has been traded to acquire future talent. Gallardo and Fiers. The depth is there to continue such transactions. We could be entering a long term trend of being competitive in just 2years. So long as they build for the future while building for the present.
  11. No the Brewers are in 5th place the A's had a better record than the Brewers did last season so the tie breaker goes to the Brewers. The A's, Rockies, and the Brewers all have the same record with the Rockies winning the tie breaker with the Brewers and the A's. My post was before both the A's and Rox games were completed in which they both won creating a tie.
  12. Do the Brewers have Adam Lind still on Contract in 2016? You dont move Braun to 1b with a legit 1b in Lind at the position. 1b in all of baseball isn't a quality painted picture. Lind should be retained maybe extended a couple more seasons. But here, he's written off as Gone Yesterday. It's Braun to 1b like that happened yesterday. I just looked at Braun's stat page. He's never Played 1out at 1b in his professional career. Until he's manning 1b in a Preseason game, He's a corner OF. I'd wish we'd stop penciling him in like Braun has played multiple seasons at 1b and it'll be like picking up a bike and riding it after a few years not.
  13. HanRam is a disgrace for a Baseball player. TMwiese has it right: He's good and ought to be known as someone who's checked out. He's lazy and dogs it all the time. Miami Benched him multiple games because of his on field effort....Lack thereof. Ewit you're asking for the wrong kind of return to be possible. Oh Yeah isn't he playing the worst defensive OF ever? Like literally 1Run per game the team was getting defensively that he cost them? That's the intelligence and effort/ability we're dealing with.
  14. I'd try for Gerardo Parra once again to be the Lefty bat in the OF who can play CF in a pinch. But Really. The Brewers reside in a division where the 3rd best team is at 93.5wins according to win pct. and the Leader is at 102.3. The Cubs are that 3rd place team and they are only going to get better and if not better, add more depth to maintain 93+wins. The Pirates possess so much depth and have prized Pitchers forthcoming...what the Cardinals have had for a few seasons now. Brewers need to run thin and not force the issue. They reside in the most talented and toughest division in Baseball and that doesn't look like it will end Next season or the year after that. FA spending this offseason is just a waste of money. You can probably add Grienke and Cueto and the team will still not finish ahead of the other 3.
  15. On to subject at hand. Cincy has once again put it's grips on #3. Oak/Colorado manage to find ways to lose and continue to hang around 4th and 5th. Brewers are now solidly in 6th. 4th-6th it appears. Gotta take 5th at worst! Come on Rox/A's!
  16. Paul, you are over-valuing Catcher way too much. There are 13 HOFs at the catcher position according to BREF. Their 7yr best avg WAR is 33.8. That is below 5WAR a season over 7years for Hall of Famers. That 7year best avg. of 33.8 would put a Catcher 26th ALL-Time in WAR at the position. Let's go through the Positions and 7year avg: 1b 42.4 2b 44.4 3b 42.7 SS 42.8 LF 41.5 CF 44.0 RF 43.0 SP 50.3 RP 28.3 33.8 or 50.3. Plain and Simple that shows off Catchers should not be drafted for Need. Aces and as many as you can acquire are going to give you far more value in 7years than Catchers will.
  17. It's not the amount of doubles with that saying live/die its the lack of BA. Mark Reynolds is a terrible comparison because Davis isn't anywhere near a 225k a season guy. I'm just being hard on Davis withhis recent run to 22Hrs while keeping a BA below .240 Since Aug 5th 32hits-15HRs-3dbls 14singles. You're right he did he a lot of doubles last season. Just his recent stretch shows All or nothing.
  18. He's got the HR shine on him with his burst of HRs. Gotta trade him this offseason now. Teams will just drool at his 10HR calendar month. It's odd to me that he's hitting these HRs and his avg hasn't moved up. So his HR/FB ratio must be crazy% since this thread began. Again, he's filled with HRs, lower BA, low OB, weaker defense. The Live/Die by the HR is exactly what he portends. It's why I'd rather extend Lind who has an OB over .360 with above avg BA over Davis beyond this year. Santana has a higher Power ceiling with BB ability, better arm/speed. He's a complete upgrade over Davis. It'd be great to bundle him with someone else and nab a 2b or 3b to have in the lineup.
  19. This figure shows how a top 5 pick matters in money a lot more than 6th/7 with how much money the dropoff is. 4th would be perfect. 5mil roughly to your top choice as most signees go slot. You don't spend 6.2mil paying an added 1mil for most likely an equal talented player. It's looking better that Milw picks 3rd-6th. Colorado/Miami should win more with who's recently come back from injuries. Cincy and Oakland are the battlers with us for 3rd and I don't know why Oak is there...oh maybe because they traded Donaldson away
  20. On the .5-.75 less. It's the point that Garza is at or below 5ERA with 4-5 starts looming to have a "run" and bring his ERA to a respectable 4.25 at year's end. Garza would have a little bit of an argument to say he can do that. But at 5.63 a 4-5 game run would maybe drop him just below 5ERA and still prove the season a lost one regardless. I wasn't making the point that he's pitching near his value. I was making the point whether he deserved to be arguing or not and It's a big NOT since his ERA is 5.63. Not like 4.85-5.05 with a chance to decline to 4.25 or so with a run of quality starts. Garza has no right to make an argument. You say above 5 red flag. above 4.5 and you can deal with it. If Garza's ERA was almost at 5, he could bring it to that 4.5 you're looking for. Can Pitchers pitch less effective but avoid injuries while doing so?
  21. Pitchers don't accumulate WAR like a Position Player can. 30th best last season Meaning ACE If spread over 30teams was 3.49. 60th a #2 2.46 Garza didn't pitch 30+starts as most of these pitchers in top 60 likely did. Pretty much Looking for 2.5WAR from him if he pitches 31-33starts. You're right the team didn't get it's 12.5mil value but Garza was near being on track to do so.
  22. Okay can scratch Fernandez. True loss is Sale with the Covey pick.
  23. I understand the spin you're trying to put on this, however I'll ask how is spending any money on a below replacement level performance a good deal? Every long term deal the Brewers have signed has turned out the same way, with way too much dead money in the contract. Only to BWAR Garza was worth 7.1WAR the previous 4 seasons over 106starts. Worth 1.4 the 1st year of his contract. That's 8.5WAR prior to this year. They didn't invest money to a Below replacement level starting pitcher. You know that. You should also know like I that many a bust SPs are paid over 5mil on 1year deals. Have the Brewers wasted 3/37.5mil yet? There's 2 seasons to find out. They sure didn't waste the first 12.5mil. If Garza becomes the next waived before end of his contract Wolf or Suppan obvious bad deal. We're halfway maybe less than halfway with option before determining this a bad deal. KRod was awful in 2012. Gave him a chance after that season and he's only been great for Milw.
  24. Basically you're showing exact same odds. 5 within top 5 and 11 with 6-15 Or is it 1-4 and 5-15 then it's better odds 4 picks to get 5 vs 11picks to get 11. It's not the lack of quality as it is the lesser chance to pick that quality player. My favorite two player for this year's draft Allard/Whitley went both just before the Brewers picked. The Trout miss easy example. Sure there could be a stud player to select, but there's less studs likely to select from. And how well does your draft team do when the player they are targeting is picked just ahead of your selection? Eric Arnett is out of baseball. #1 player to a nobody. Shows why picking higher up if possible should be considered. 2010 Chris Sale went ahead of Dylan Covey. 2011. George Springer ahead of Jungmann and Jose Fernandez ahead of Bradley. Trout, Sale, Springer, and Fernandez. in 3 years. for Jungmann to show for it.
  25. As I just posted in the other Garza thread. Garza likely just became more tradeable with his shutdown since a team will have that 5mil option in 2018 to consider. 2/25 or 3/30 with no chance of 3/38. Some team may bite like the Yankees on that kind of contract.
