  1. I am pretty sure that MA himself is the guy that gave KRod that contract, not Melvin. It's pretty well documented that he gets in bed with Scott Boras and does deals himself of this magnitude. You can believe that. I don't in the KRod signing. The Brewers were looking for a RP/potential closer. This wasn't the Lohse signing where it came way late. Show me your link that has you believing this.
  2. Via Crew's articles I think BA had a top 50 and 10 of the first 17 were pitchers I wanna say. Only to to have 4 of next 5 be hitters and even it out to 50/50 pitchers to batters. It feels like in reading there's more Pitching belief in this draft class than hitters and an overall weak class compared to last year's. I'm thinking this season the Brewers take Happ or Bickford at the moment. College guys I know, but I think their of upside safe bets vs the HS class having upside. But then again, Montgomery has splashed in the draft recently to successful prospect picks. I'm thinking the Brewers are going to hit on the draft with somebody who falls down to them since they have that 40th pick money to use and nab their guy that way. Just based on the fact that the draft reads more miss than hit, to save money with that 2nd pick may be foolish if you can take some of it and get someone who was at the top and believed to be a hit but money makes him harder to sign. There's partial excitement in that they could draft Matuella or Aiken be FOR potentials if they can remain healthy after their TJs. Just don't know though on taking on that risk of avoiding the 2nd TJ before they've made their ML debut.
  3. This is BS that MA "supports" both Melvin and Roenicke. When in attendance their decisions cost Milw the game last night right in front of his eyes. Not the players' performances to date. Jimmy Nelson pitches a heckuva game deserving of a win, if his opponent hadn't been a Cy Young candidate in Cueto. But here we are go to the 9th inning all of the bullpen capable to be used. and Roenicke summons KRod. The team's closer, to extend the game with another 0 put on the board. KRod, the closer that Melvin gave a 2yr 13mil contract to. And that player failed. But the only reason he had the opportunity to fail is because Melvin signed him, and Roenicke summoned him to pitch. But MA you support these two and it's the players underperforming and accountable for this start. Nevermind Roenicke's erroneous decision making with the bullpen in this game, or the one calling upon Broxton (another Melvin acquisition) to pitch an 8th in game earlier in the season when he said Smith was a better option. He's costing the team wins and you wonder who's accountable for this team's start?
  4. Just dis-satisfying. And in 5days or 6 whatever it is it'll be Cueto vs Nelson again. Gotta love our #5(#1really) vs their #1 matchups. wonder how that keeps happening...Nelson vs Wainwright twice last season. Guess we're trying to groom another Ben Sheets.
  5. How many times must we go through this? KRod doesn't work well as a keep the game tied RP in the 9th inning. He's a closer. Not a prolong the game or winner. His job is to end the game. So that is what he's doing. Use somebody else already!
  6. my fantasy gamecast is funny. Must be run by a guy who doesn't like braun. They show every strike hitting him in the knee cap. the balls all the way across to the other side.
  7. Realistically, that's the recipe for any MLB team. 81 wins is .500 ball and if you manage to figure out to win 5-6 more games than that, you're in the playoffs. Starting off 2-12 doesn't help this though. You realize that statement is .500 ball til Sept or still 9,10,11 games under .500 only to get hot in Sept. Not get to .500 by Sept. He's fooling himself.
  8. OMGosh. Schafer as a pinch hitter...exactly my point. This is why Matt Clark needs to be on the team.
  9. But I'm sure now comes the PH and we'll follow that up in the 9th with KRod's 20min of terror to blow the game. We don't have a game changing PH so let Nelson continue.
  10. If Roenicke would have replaced Nelson with how he's dealing. With MA in attendance? Would just prove he can't manage a game. That's 10straight batters out for 11outs by Nelson. now.
  11. 16-10 last night and here we are with 2runs scored on 6 total hits. Simply amazing baseball is. Nelson for a 9in CG? late is when Cueto seems to give up his runs. or in our case simply 1 run needed.
  12. They could do the silent night like that HS team. All silent til 10pts are scored erupt. And erupt again at 100pts. For Baseball It'd be all silent til a Run is scored by the home team. Freak out the players if they are shutout by having zero crowd noise.
  13. Pretty sure we all know how to turn this sad franchise around. It's build through the draft. Like the Packers. It's not overspending on Free Agents that cost a draft pick like Lohse. It's being willing to make a trade for the future strength of the franchise when the opportunity presents itself, vs laughing it off in the ARam story above. 2014, it appears was a banner year for building through the draft and International signings. That's a start, only it's what 5years in the making? Not since 2008? And there's still part of last year's draft that could be attributed to luck. Nobody draft Harrison or Gatewood before the Brewers took them. The Medeiros pick wasn't taken as a winning pick in opinion at the time vs what was left on the board. So while 2014 looks great now, one can't actually say that is what the team drew up to happen. It started with a small fail, ended up with a big Win. Maybe the success of that draft though overall will lead them to drafting more that way and less the previous way. You can go back and read every page of this thread, it's all saying the same thing. We know how to turn this around. There's not much more to be said if any on turning it around. It's just repeating what's been said, with different wording. What more needs to be added to this thread?
  14. Or, how about working Thornburg as a Starting Pitcher. With the intent to maybe replace Fiers and/or maybe prepare to trade a starter by June. Wooten, I've liked. Groundball RP. think perfect guy to put in after a failed Lefty/lefty matchup with righty coming up. We'll see if I'm right vs the fresh vs tired need response.
  15. It's another Night to see Jimmy Nelson pitch! And that curveball he's introduced to his repertoire! Future homegrown Opening day starter?
  16. It's so simple right now. Have Lucroy be interim manager since he has 4-6weeks of healing while making the search. Face of the Franchise still creating an impact for the team.
  17. Wow brought in Chapman in a 6run game...Not playing around
  18. Can't blame the Bullpen usage tonight when all 4 pitchers were terrible and didn't pick up any extra outs to keep from taxing the bullpen.
  19. StL just lost in extras to Washington 2-1. With Milw's 2HRs today they actually tie Stl for worst total in baseball. Stl only left 13 men on base. Pretty solid 1st place effort
  20. Not til after Phillips is walked so to give Bruce the HR opportunity
  21. Was he mentioned already? Derrick Turnbow? Definitely someone who was boo'd
  22. Magical Chairs night. All tickets are $25. On the back is a scratchoff of what seats you get to move to after each inning. See the Games from whole new perspectives.
  23. Wouldn't his 'quota' be 5.5? He's a guy that stands to maybe pitch 6innings Which to fill his quota at 6ip would be 3.63Ks. It's per 9innings he'd have to pitch the CG to have to do 5.5. Last time he pitched in to the 7th inning was July 1, 2013. CG Aug 11,2012. Odds are quite against it.
  24. Marquis, he of career 5.5k/9 just achieved his quota in 3 batters.
