  1. And that should be the Dagger to "Lugo" Jimenez Rogers far more offensive talent. Dump Jimenez and bring up Clark so we have a valid Bench.
  2. Started Radiation/Chemo. 2days in already having nausea issues. They don't tell you theres going to be a blinding flash directly in to your eyes to keep your eyes closed so you're not having these problems. Even on the 2nd day keeping my eyes shut it's still leaves that fuzziness from a blinding flash when opening my eyes. That feeling combined with how tight the mask I wear on my face is to my forehead makes it easy to be sensitive to light and a kind of "Aura" headache. Not strong, just kinda a nuisance. The Chemo was easy/quicker than told. I think they're giving me a very low dose. No problems with that at the end of the day. I want blinders or something like they wear in a um suntan booth? whatever it's called. Of course it wouldn't fit the mask. Maybe just position over the mask for the radiation. Think that's possible?
  3. Let's get a scoreless inning here first from Broxton. Cuz down 2 runs Rogers blast does no good.
  4. When did Pitts get ahold of all the money to pay these two? Braun would have to include 10mil a year on Milw's end and then they might consider it. Doesn't help the cause that Gomez is on the DL when asking the question. Likely another reason not to make the deal....Kinda like having Marte and Polanco for the OFs too.
  5. Ha! ^^^ this is So true. What are they teaching these hitters? How to cool off the stadium? This stat was why I didn't like the Cardinals 90wins+ prediction. Lack of any true Power hitting... They have 4HRs though.
  6. All I know, is you read the Brewers Facebook posts and the comments and over 1/3rd are Fire Roenicke. And that is exactly why he should have been let go after 2014. 2-7 start to the season and fans want a change. Of course they do after last year's collapse. Nobody honestly took it on the chin after last season. And here they are supposedly playing to the exact Collapsing team seen of 2014. You read the Roenicke comments. (something of this sort) Stars are up to bat with runners on base and they aren't getting it done. Manager excuse-talk. He's right they aren't getting it done. But he makes the lineups. You put your stars in that order to get the job done. Maybe if Lucroy isn't hitting well right now, he should have put Lind at #2. Moved Lucroy to #4 or #5 with giving Davis surprise of the #4/5 instead and moved ARam to #6. Or as someone mentioned right away. Why have Parra and Gennett 1 after another? Put a Righty ahead of each and maybe set up later on vs a Specialist Lefty to just bunt Sacrifice over. as Schafer seems to be used for his Pinch hit opportunities. Then there's a Righty with a Lefty pitching and risp. Stuff like this sticks out...not even talking about the 3rd out at 3b or 1st out for that matter type of running errors. The Broxton instead of Smith erroneous decision. I just don't get how after that collapse, you could bring back the manager in what was his final year of contract. He was on the Hott Seat due to the collapse. He's immediately beginning the season on the Hott Seat and that's a mistake and it's playing out why. Fire Roenicke is being wished upon by over 1/3rd the fans now. Think these fans will show up to games if the Brewers mull around 5-10games below .500 and Roenicke is still managing them?
  7. What I'm saying is there's belief that Castro is worth some kind of decent prospect package to acquire. When he's being shelled out a large amount of money to be League average for a SS defensively, and maybe worth a few wins offensively or completely be negatively worth as were discussing Segura's offensive value. Only Segura is a better defender and he's not being paid 45+mil guaranteed to be one with his potential offensive flaws.
  8. Wasn't Starlin Castro about the worst full-time hitter in all of baseball 2 years ago? Yet you here Cubs fans clamor for some elite prospect in order to take on his high contract for a bust of a player. Segura is a better defender at SS and with it he carries value. Add that he is 6mil+ cheaper than Castro w/o another 4years of contract guaranteed, Segura>Castro imo. Chicago will have to eat 15-20mil in order to move Castro maybe more with each passing day and his 2013 numbers appearing again. Truthfully, considering how Atl and SD did business with each other. All San Diego should do is wait calling Theo and remind him of the offer he gave to acquire Castro. Because Castro's value, with Russell pushing his way to have him benched for him, is going to be next to nothing. Chicago made a big contract mistake when they extended him(but who knew they'd find magic beans with nearly every SP they bought while rebuilding to get a Russell and others) Or, just maybe on Segura's great start to the year... Well there's Sardinas, there's Hector Gomez, and there's Arcia. If I were his agent, I'd tell him Arb is coming up since they didn't take that extension. And he won't be offered much if he's riding the bench the last 70% of the season only to be used in mopup games and to pinch hit. Unlike Castro, who's set for life with his guaranteed money, no matter his performance with 45 some million to be paid his way.
  9. And it has already happened. I drafted/bought in to a lot of Pitching since the regular playing lineup was so small just 9players for 7 categories standard 8 with 1 Util for 9. Compared to normal league I play extra OF and extra Util. for 11 with 7cats in that Offensively but only 6 in Pitching. Anyway. It was very easy for drafters to look at an offensive players ADP and think, this guy's been an 8th round pick why is he here in the 11th round? and pick him up. A number of teams wound up with about 12 or 13 offensive players vs me having just the 9minimum(1 being Rendon 1 being Bryant who are just sitting on bench) Well first someone dropped AJ Pollock. I thought hey good 15/25 type stat guy to put in Bryants Util slot. Then literally the following day someone dropped Joc Pederson. I used my 4th waiver wire spot to get Pollock and thought dam my luck I wish I saved it for Pederson. Used my 12th waiver wire spot and got Pederson for Pollock. Love it! Now I have a 25-30/25-30 guy whom I had no 20/20 guy. Slow starts+combo of just sitting on bench when youre looking at losing a couple Pitch categories=dropped. I won 5 of 7 Pitching cats(not saves/K/9) and 2 Hitting to tie the matchup. and Come to find out being the Home team its just like FF with a 1-0 record or 0-1 record at end of week. So the tie being the home team got me the win with 2 offensive players on bench. I had a 315BA and 12BBs by Friday night with my other 7players. 2 runs scored! I've never seen that before. 1 on a HR. Scored 13runs on the weekend to make 15runs total look like a weak week. .325/17BBs. 4HRs. I think 15runs was the lowest of any other team when Friday's games were over and me leading the entire league in BA at that point had 2. Anyway, the stud pitchers whom are likely to pitch 210Innings+ vs having a quality guy that maybe touches 195 are going to keep me on top of this League, I just know it. And Bryant is coming....Rendon will get healthy. And I'll just wait to upgrade my OFs or SS when someone drops theirs due to struggles or because they have an everyday player on the bench 5 days a week. Edit just going to say that I drafted Jose Fernandez to stash on my DL in the 13th round. Pederson picked up in the 14th rd. I got Hector Rodon(best undervalued RP I think this season) the two players I've dropped Javier Baez(before hearing he was a AAA player to play in Rendons place til back) and Kelvin Herrera a RP. Person that dropped Pederson? Picked up Drew Pomerantz after his 7ip 0ER start.
  10. Well since I posted in what's bugging me. I'll say that what's not bugging me is being allowed to go back to work in a less capacity than before, but working tomorrow for the first time since March 16th. This site will appreciate the less posts I give I'm sure with less free time
  11. Baldkin. He was hit twice in the same game. Does that lead to the pulled hamstring? Well did his routine change due to being hit? Where was Ramirez hit in the previous inning? Doesn't say. Wainwright hit Carlos Gomez July 12, in a 6-0 Stl score game 3rd inning when the two teams became tied for the Divsion with that game. Gomez was hit once every game of that series. He'd been hit once in the last month plus prior. The final game of that series was Gomez' last time seeing .880 for his Season OPS as he fell to .833 at season's end. BTW the next time Gomez was hit...The very first game of the next Cardinal series Aug 1st by Wainwright. 2hit batters vs Milw of 7 total in 2014 and both were Gomez?....Edit add. That HBP shows up with Wainwright behind 3-0 an open first base after a Wily Peralta sac moved runners to 2nd and 3rd and 1 out. Gomez was hit in that same game first, we're talking about Ramirez being hit in. Wacha up 3-0 in the 6th. So yes I feel a bit of the conspiracist about the Cardinal way.
  12. Yes, clearly, it's the beanballs, not talent which is winning the Cardinals division titles. Well you remove talent from your Division rivals like the Cardinals did to Milw when hitting Ramirez, you help your cause. By Depleting another team's. Ramirez 17RBI 3HRs had seen action in every Brewer Game of 2014 before he was beaned. Missed next 2 games. Played in only 7 of the next 8games. and then missed 22games straight. Brewers 16-17 during that stretch. While Ramirez's replacement Mark Reynolds may have done a quality job at 3b. It also meant the Brewers had to endure Lyle Overbay's game playing in May to the tune of .161BA and .474OPS. And that's just the single instance I can think of off the top of my head. You think Stl would hit Milw's batters if Milw retaliated and hit their hot batters or quality players? Due to the effect it could have of lost talent on a season? I'd bet Wainwright would be more in line of that 10% of games played where he hit a Milwaukee batter vs 21% Could probably go back through the years on Wainwright and the biggest competition they had for the division title I'm guessing is where the Hit batters were. Again 5 of 7 last season Milw/Pitts. For an Ace he sure hit the Competition for the division vs any other opponent.
  13. You thought he produced last year? 19 Hrs in 2014, 41 in 2012. Yeah, it was the thumb, of course, he will be back to his usual 900-950 ways this year. No, he's saying that you are sure he's a "750 guy at best," and I, like TLB assume you mean ".750 OPS" when you say "750 guy at best." Last year (sore thumb and all) he hit for a .777 OPS, so it's hard to believe that he is a ".750 OPS guy at best." You then came back with a bit of a snarky comment using his home run totals to justify lack of production, and then shifted back to an OPS reference in your "900-950 ways" comment. I personally don't know what to expect from Braun. He was injured last year, so that probably had some negative effect. Personally, I think it'll be tough to be a .950 OPS guy, as very few people ever hit that mark, and he is on the other side of 30. However, I hope that he can be a mid-to-high .800 OPS guy again. Time will tell. You are banking everything on thumb excuse. I suppose its possible. I did just look it up, and he did hit 777. If you honestly think that is so much better than 750, then sheesh, what can I say? At his pay, he MUST be a 900 guy for the Brewers plan to work. I also looked up his splits because my comments were based on what I remember of him last year, not the actual stats. Turns out he had a tremendous April then that was that. Was it the thumb? I really doubt it but its certainly conceivable. Can you name a player losing so much production for the bulk of the season due to a thumb injury? Wasnt that also his excuse for the lack of pre suspension 2013? Then how did he mash in April 2014? The Brewers have everything tied into him being a super star, 750 (or 777 if that makes you feel better about him) wont get it done. Yeah. Same thumb injury or was it thumb surgery I believe. Dustin Pedroia. 787 to 712.
  14. Here's something I was curious about. Since I recall the Cardinals being the one to hit ARam last season after that hot Brewers start with RRR never returning a HBP proving that the Cardinals can get away with hitting our players.... Adam Wainwright for his glorious career has 42 hit batsmen. 9 of them are Brewers players. 21.4% in 30 games. Out of his 281 10.7% He had 7 total hit batsmen last year. 2 vs Milw. 3 vs Pitts. The Division competition and the Cardinal Way to win it. When will we learn to be more like them?
  15. The above conversation is what happens when the Brewers are swept in the opening series and go 1-5 at home to start the season...Find someone else to get excited about. We are all anxiously awaiting Lara's professional start! When, when, when!? I can't wait to have another superstar in the makings to follow and brag about forthcoming to the Brewers ML team in the future. Really the beginnings of an exciting time that's been non-existent for Milw in the minors
  16. So we had the May of 2013. The end of the year 2014 and PreAll Star break collapse. The team is 1-5 to start thus far. What record does Roenicke have to avoid by the end of this month to not just get canned...Since the big end of season speech from Melvin was seeking out answers to why the team goes through these long losing streaks. On Tap are the Cardinals and Wainwright vs Garza. If healthy we'll see Wainwright again this month along with Lance Lynn twice and Johnny Cueto twice. 22 game month and at 1-5 with 6 games vs Starters Milw doesn't want to face because they are at a disadvantage. I'll just peg 2-4 as best case scenario. That's 3-9. And let's just go 4-6 for a losing record the remainder 10games. So at 7-15 to start the season. If I'm Ron Roenicke, am I managing May 1st(mind you April 30th is an off day...Hmmm?)
  17. It's All in the Hips... No seriously, sounds like you're pulling your head up(which brings up your shoulders) too soon. Slices too can be a result. But likely your swing is wrong. I've been dealing with PF for almost 20 years. Go 1/2 size up on your golf shoes (unless you have a good amount of room in them) and put a pair of these in them: http://www.newbalance.com/pd/arch-support-insole/IAS3720M.html?dwvar_IAS3720M_color=Grey#color=Grey They have these at New Balance stores and similar ones at Road Runner Sports if either of those are near you if you want to try them on first. Well, I haven't been working for near a month now so my PF has gone away. Something to look at/consider. I found a boot that keeps my foot/toes more in a 90degree position to my leg. Kinda like stretching out the bottom of the foot. I have been sleeping oddly where I'm pointing my foot downward/flexing my calf some and I want to say my toes were kinda crunched up/curled to not stretch out the bottom of my foot at all. It's definitely had a good impact because I had woken up with the onset of a calf cramp previously with the flexing of it while sleeping. Not going to happen with the boot. Got it from Walgreens don't know the exact price anymore. Maybe something to look in to if any of it might apply to your sleeping habits, your foot position while asleep. I'll definitely look in to the Insole. I've been wearing them for years when working some really help some don't help at all. the Dr Scholls $50 insoles have worked the best for me(the one you test yourself for) but if I'm experiencing PF I can't say it did any help.
  18. Quote TPlush: I don't see Khris Davis going anywhere unless we can find a close to MLB ready OFer in that deal or another deal that is promising. I guess I could also see them trading Davis if it brings back a very good 1B or 3B prospect too. Obviously the Padres don't make sense, but if a team offered a player like Renfroe in a deal it could make sense. What I was suggesting is if the Brewers got Renfroe in a Segura deal, the trade-off could reasonably include Khris Davis. There's no reason to trade Davis any bit first to begin things. But< Finding an avg OF to play LF or RF in an offseason isn't all that hard. If Gomez lasts to play for Milw in to 2016. It'd be Gomez/Braun and someone to replace Davis. Who's not in the OF because of his defense. Its just the only spot to play him to get him in the field for his Bat with as said his below average arm. There's time as nobody is pushing at Davis's spot. But like with Segura/sardinas and Arcia. (beside Hector Gomez) there's going to be a move necessary or just flat out Waive the loser. Think Texas who sent us Sardinas plus Knebel AND Marcos Diplan. Sardinas wasn't getting his full value due to the Glut Texas has in the Middle Infield. The Brewers will be running in to that problem before the end of this season w/o injury knock on wood. If we have what the Padres want they'll have to overpay to get him. If we are forced to move Segura to fit Arcia the Padres will get him for cheap to take him off our hands. That's where Davis could come in. If we were to get a Renfroe. You would trade him off before his replacement is ready because the added value not to trade him is there. Anyway Gallardo 2 GS 9.2IP 14hits 6R Earned 12/2 K/BB only Good for 14mil. He wont reach 185IP this season even with 34Starts. Crazy to me the deal Milw got for him.
  19. Nice read Mass. We got Kodi Medeiros who I'm still thrilled about, I was campaigning for this guy: Luis Ortiz, RHP, Texas Rangers One way to get my attention in a minor-league game is to show me plus stuff and velo. Another way is to perform against a big leaguer. Ortiz did both these things two minutes into my first view of him. Ortiz struck out Carl Crawford swinging in a four-pitch at-bat where Crawford looked badly overmatched. Ortiz worked 91-95 with his fastball before falling off a bit later. It’s a plus fastball that misses bats with late run and sinking action. The slider flashed double plus at 83-85 and Ortiz showed tremendous feel for and confidence in the pitch. Ortiz used the slider as a chase, threw it for strikes and dropped it in backdoor. He didn’t go to his changeup much, but it shows promise as a third at-least-average offering. The mechanics are a little clunky with a backstab and a full turn where he shows the batter his numbers. As long as Ortiz stays healthy and on top of his weight the potential is here for an above-average starting pitcher. As an amateur, feels good that I called him a King Felix mold and it's looking right as days go by. Also: In the Comments someone(likely from here) asked about Tyrone Taylor. The reply In terms of other Brewers guys, our guys liked Gatewood a lot... but the buzz around Spring and with execs I talked to was that Monte Harrison looks like an absolute stud. Kodi+Monte studs and a likeable Gatewood? Did Milw hit a grand slam in the last draft?
  20. A buddy of mine seen the Timber Rattler Game. Said Kodi looked really good. No hitter through 6 innings. 7Ks No Walks! Only baserunner was on an error. Left with a 1-0 lead only for WI to lose 11-1 LOL. Said only had 67pitches for the start. He said it was awesome and Peoria didn't stand a chance. And claims he wont be in A ball long with stuff like that. Just really like this guy!
  21. It was one game and vs a suspect Arz pitching in Arizona but Guerrero in his first start for the Dodgers when 3-5 1 2b 1Hr 4RBI. Which you'd have to count 22Games for Ramirez to have accumulated 1HR and RBI 4 and 5. Ramirez has collected 5 2bs in that span.
  22. I just don't get the high value on Sardinas. He has 5HRs in his professional career over full seasons of ABs. His slugging will always be extremely low. Let's go to Walks. less than 6% in PAs in the Minors. Pretty much offensively, Sardinas is a guy that's going to struggle to Reach .700 for an OPS. So he has to bring it with the Glove to create positive value. But there in lies the problem. Why is he coveted as an Offensive upgrade over what the Padres have now? Alexi Amarista has hit the Career Professional total of Sardinas' 5HRs every year in the Majors for 3 straight seasons. He possessed better numbers in the minors offensively than Sardinas. Yet Sardinas is going to be an offensive upgrade? Maybe more imposing due to the height difference. But I don't see it in regards to being an upgrade. Here's the thing I wonder. Sardinas has the height to project more power. He's small in weight and hasn't put the muscle on as he's aged. His big value right now is on the defensive side with that future offensive projection. Maybe some point he puts on 15-20lbs. Starts hitting more than 2HRs a season as a professional. But, how does his defense at the premium SS position take to that? He won't be as loose/fluid as a fielder than he is now with the added muscle. Does he lose range and speed? You take a 4WAR Defensive SS(as an example) and turn him in to a 1WAR defensive SS. He improves his OPS from .660 to .715 overall. And instead of a -1 Offensive WAR he becomes a 1WAR offensive SS. Is he better or worse? I just don't get how a sub .700OPS in the Minors SS can be considered a ML Offensive upgrade? Not until Sardinas has added over 10lbs to frame(if not 25-30) and shown he can perform with that weight gained. I think the guy could turn in to the AAAA type if he remains rail-thin for his career. And it's not that I don't like having him as a Backup, I'm thrilled about, I'm just not overly concerned about him when Orlando Arcia will be pounding to be inserted into the everyday SS lineup and I'm in believe he can reach that this season. Which just keeps Sardinas as the AAAA backup. Still the Padres don't have the prospects anymore that make sense for a trade. Renfroe or Michael Gettys being it. Sardinas won't get a team's #1 prospect until he's proven himself. And Segura, I just don't know he will get that in return either, until he shows more offense. So Gettys would be the only prospect worth any of Milw's time. Gettys for Sardinas...Sure! Gettys for Segura? Just not enough. Not at this point due to Segura's price/upside and Gettys Hit tool concern.
  23. Why are we forgetting Khris Davis as a Trade Chip? There's got to be an AL team out there who likes his DH/LF for that bat he provides. I mentioned in the Segura rumors. Let's say the Padres want him and trade away Renfroe? Or even Gettys? The Brewers, depending on who they get have the OF for the future to replace a Davis. Like the guy at the plate, but like with today's game, he's a liability in the field. He's very cheap which adds to his trade value. Call up Matt Clark to replace him for the near future and wait for the future of the Brewers OF to graduate in to the Majors. Whether it be whom the Padres traded to Milw, Coulter, or one of the soft hitting trio that provides plus defense in Taylor, Reed, or Wren. Plus, in all this doom and gloom. Getting a ML ready Prospect at some position is likely. Maybe it is an OF since you're going to remove Parra too. Schafer is likely done after this season due to space/options/performance. And there's going to be that looming Gomez trade to occur. I mean the Athletics ran Rickie Weeks as their DH already. Seriously. Khris Davis is certainly a far better DH option than that!
  24. How about a HR by Segura! Still overall, who do the Padres possess that makes sense for the Brewers? Renfroe? at OF? That is a too desperate acquire for the Padres to make at this time. Deadline deal for a Segura who's having the kind of success thus far and carried it all the way to that point? I think that deal could be done. But what does getting Refroe do? Give the team a RF option. Where Braun is now? Blocking him? Getting Renfroe would essentially open the door to Have to trade Khris Davis. Obviously not this season. But do you just go in tank mode and trade both Gomez/Davis then in this offseason if you've gotten rid of Segura in season 2015? The Padres don't have a top SP prospect anymore. Despaigne included. Nothing in his past screams solid Pitcher. Low Ks per 9 and his FB is 90MPH. Meanwhile has a higher BB/9 than wanted. Just screams trouble and a #4/5 SP at best. Nelson profiles far better than him. Even Fiers. The only 2 prospects that the Padres have to deal that would be exciting is Renfroe and Gettys. Barring some AS numbers by Segura(with Sardinas/Arcia posting quality numbers to make that expendable) I can't see the Padres and Brewers making a deal. I'd rather look elsewhere for more a need vs a team just willing to deal for what they want after all the prospects they've now dealt.
