  1. Casstellanos must be struggling without looking at his recent. Shows all 3 swings and misses at balls out of the zone. Tried to be hero.
  2. Not only does he nearly lead in SOs but that's his 6thDP tying him for 2nd on the team. Why is he still up here? Wasn't his last start 4ks? Couple HRs bought him a month of suck?
  3. Thankfully these projections are based on logic and career numbers, and not 130 rough plate appearances. Tellez has always hit. He hit in the minors. He hit as a rookie call-up in 2018. He hit (albeit not as well, although HR numbers were good) in a longer audition in 2019. He hit very well last year. You are seeing something negative that you apparently want to see with him that the numbers and projections simply don't support. I don't think a 752 OPS at AAA and under 800 in his minor league career constitutes as a "hitter". As I mentioned previously, he did well the last two years (over 1.000 OPS), but when I look at his MiLB career, I don't see a hitter profile. He does OK, but we have AAAA players hitting 900-1000 OPS at AAA, but can't hit a lick at the MLB level. Saying he has "always" hit is not correct. A late bloomer, perhaps. His 1st 2 years in AAA, he was 5.4 and 4.7 years younger than average AAA player those years of 22/23. It is something a HS draft pick sees is a short time frame to excel or see that team have you on 40man or expose to Rule 5. We're thrilled with Mitchell's performance at A+ and Tellez was playing AAA at same age. I'm not going to say late bloomer so much as progression. He's outgrown AAA and is a ML player much like Tyrone Taylor (drafted out of HS) has progressed from after-thought to some here wishing he'd be an every day starter over JBJ. Tellez's single yesterday I recall seeing over 114MPH EV. He's increased his age 24-25 EV average by 2MPH age 26 thus far. You know that 1st or 2nd year you call prime. If he progresses like AAA trend this will seriously be a steal when carrying .850+ OPS at 1st base cheaply.
  4. https://www.mlb.com/player/luis-urias-649966 Sitting at .760 OPS after todays DH. Thinking team needs to trade for another 1b/3b since Urias keeps improving as competition arrives
  5. Robertson: wRC+ 66 "Garbage DFA!" Tellez: wRC+ 65 "Our new 1B for years to come!" But by career its 87 for Robertson and 102 for Tellez. Let's not forget the better side of a platoon. If you can't get a productive 1B elsewhere Stearns has at least kept the cost what? Below 8Mil a year for it? Let the guy have a chance who doesnt K 40pct of the time. Avg production improves the lineup. Can always trade him down the road even this offseason. This is a trade for this season with potential seasons after.
  6. tellez was also optioned on 28 april. he has already spent 20+ days on optional assignment with toronto this year. Ah. I mixed it up. I thought an option wouldn't count if kept under 20days down in minors. But that is service time right? Has to stay over 20days down before service time doesn't accrue. 2020 with no minors games played, was he optioned at all last season?
  7. Tellez statcast numbers, the EV is higher. Has barrelled the ball more times than Yelich has this season in far fewer PAs. Increased his hard hit ball pct every season thus far. His 21HR season would have been 23 in Milwaukee. Consistent around 12 degree Launch angle. So with the EV increase, we could see him hitting a 1b worth of HRs vs what Hiura is trotting out there. Things that get me on lack of RPs and needing to trade for some....In the Playoffs we are trotting out, expecting, Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta. That takes Anderson, Houser, Lauer out of your starting rotation to be played where from? The bullpen. Houser we know can get it done RH with velocity. Lauer equals extra LH RP. Anderson, I'd imagine is a cleanup role in case of injury or a losing blowout. As to the option time game log shows Tellez last game for Tor on 18th. So 12 plus 6 today is below 20. Keep him up for the season then option not used correct? just edit adding that Mitchell was promoted to AA today. CF bat issues may be solved just using him right there.
  8. Darn. I actually hoped they would just send Hiura back down to the minors. Make the most out of your new 1b. Maybe there's an Adames made Urias play better competition on Hiura vs Tellez getting starts. Either way 1b is what this team needs the most right now.
  9. 7-9 years old is reasonable for 9hole golfing. 10-13 Id progress them to 18holes. If they're good enough entering HS to play on golf team, you would buy them a real set of clubs to pursue that should they want.
  10. Again its not power but averaging hitting a ball the height of the pitcher on the mound. Not going to clear any fences hitting a ball lower than they are.
  11. Hadn't golfed in some time but I do work in the golf industry and can most certainly say you can not buy yourself a golf game. PXGs are terrible from my experience watching people hit them. Do want to say that I have a buddy who had himself essentially fitted and tuned in with the clubs he plays and swears it has helped his game tremendously. This coming from a below 6handicap closer to scratch now. Putters are huge payoff when you find the right one. I'm a center shaft putter. Puts you over the ball more and flatter along the ground. Find a putter that "flows" when you stroke it. Always feel you are extending that putt down the line you have created. Lightweight handles give the club head to much weight and pulls. Lightweight club head with heavy handles become harder to release the putter down the line using the shoulder turn extension. Compensated with wrists and hands to release. Multiple moving body parts with different points of control results in far more inconsistency. Your Putting tip for 2021
  12. Yelich has reverted back to low launch angle. 2.5 currently via Statcast. Whereas he was 4.7, 5, and 11.3 the 3 seasons up to his knee injury. You could also have fears that his Exit Velocity has dropped 2-3mph. Not fully sure where to think on that since 2020 he EV was his highest officially. His Max EV bests his 2018 max. Amazing to only have a launch angle of 2.5degrees thus far. Hiura still seems a lost season for him. Can Milw find a 1b to finish out this season? This is so important I'd honestly give up Freddy to acquire Alex Kirilloff. (there'd need to be more back for Milw on that suggestion, swap Cain and Donaldson?)
  13. The "crowds" in Tampa were pretty bad. The only times they filled the place was when the Yankees or Red Sox were in town. I don't know if fans are attending home games now with the Rays playing well seeing I'm not watching those games while I'm up here. BREF shows Milw just above 16k. Tampa just above 6k. On this season. Imagine that gap widens with each home game remaining.
  14. I think Adames feeds off the home crowd energy. That bat flip HR and now Grand Slam. Crowds this size he'd only see on the road before. Seriously just stamp him face of franchise extend him this off-season. Yelich lost his after that kneecap. Just human. Willy isn't. Just to add to that feeling. 7 hits in 6games. 7 walks in 6 games. 2 epic HRs. Since full capacity allowed.
  15. Do these wins count less come October? Subject isnt about wins but Brewers offense. Many HRs vs bullpens on garbage teams late in games. How's the offense vs better pitching and bullpens coming up going to fare?
  16. Can we also remember the last 10games were vs 2 teams a combined 51games under .500. We had a good share of come from behind offense vs these 2 teams RPs. Still struggled for majority of those SPs.
  17. I’m optimistic because he has more walks than strikeouts at the moment. That seems to be a pretty rare skill. You're right. I'd seen a a slow hitting stretch with Ks didn't catch he basically had same number of BBs. Almost .500OB. Wonder how long til they promote him should he keep that OB going? That higher level should have better control so the BB:K ratio should be harder to keep 1:1.
  18. I see Ks piling up in his recent game logs. But did have a double and HR yesterday. Maybe breaking out of that funk.
  19. How many save opportunities-saves is a game tying 2-run HR at home bottom of the 9th worth? That lead to a win? Adames is stepping to the front for MVP on this team and I know we have Woody, Burnes, Peralta. But seriously how many clutch hits and abs has he already given and injected some Offense to this team? We would clamor hope on Arcia because of some clutch hits. Adames is just making them come weekly.
  20. Take your .300 hitter to bat a .130 hitter just because of platoon favorability? 1 man left on bench to use. Sigh start with runner on 2nd. End inning still on 2nd.
  21. The Pirates are batting 228/299/352 & scoring 3.50 runs per game. The Brewers are batting 212/301/365 & scoring 3.99 runs per game. Batting average tells an incomplete story as it excludes walks & extra base hits. Yes, the Brewers have the worst batting average in MLB, but their offense as a whole has been objectively closer to average than to the worst in the league. Runs per game are at 4.48 since the Adames trade, so they've actually been slightly above average for the last month. You can thank Coors for getting the team BA over the all-time worst .210. Was .214 after it from I believe .206 low. Now .212. This is the easy stretch vs AZ,Col,AZ again. Let's see where they stand when some above .500 teams are played against for a stretch.
  22. Finally get to see why Tampa traded Adames who's been nothing short of Milw's best player since that trade. Franco will have some big expectations to fill. Also this must mean Super 2 timing has reached it's exit and promotions will be happening all around MLB teams.
  23. Funny 10 years ago this comment would be made about drafting and developing pitchers. The Brewers then draft a ton of pitching and advance them to the majors and they’re getting roasted for failing to develop hitters. Is there a rule of some kind that a team can only develop one or the other. So now that we have developed some pitching we get a pass on no homegrown position players on the team. Good organizations should be able to draft and develop both pitchers and position players. When a 1st rd pick has approximately 50pct chance to even reach the Majors and it drops significantly after, yeah it's going to be tough to home grown on both sides. Here's the real thought, which has more trade value on deadline deals? Pitching right? Tampa has a loaded system trading pitchers, position players and constant turnover. Milwaukee hasn't reached that pitching trade cycle simply due to injuries to Nelson and Kneble who would have had a much larger trade value 16months prior. Hader still exists for next pitcher trade whose value must be high once again. Peralta is somebody that I wouldnt be surprised having a higher trade value than Woody or Burnes by the time deadline arrives. That future contract is cemented. If we could just get to the finish line with these pitchers to trade being healthy we'd see a much healthier system.
