  1. I like the Strickland addition... Look at the success we've had with relievers recently... Would love to see Strickland/Boxberger/Williams/Hader closing out games.
  2. Damn, gotta imagine Hoglund will be there at 15. Would love to take a flier on him! I've read that teams like him over Rocker.
  3. Wow, not sure that type of response what needed... But thanks. Not sure how I'm supposed to know that since injuries aren't listed on the rosters like with MLB teams.
  4. yes, alternate training sites have closed, and the ones that were occupying an affiliate's facility will now revert back to the affiliate. i haven't seen anything official regarding the elimination of taxi squads, but one has to assume that they have been eliminated. otherwise, how do class aaa clubs (which tend to be the level raided the most for replacements) maintain playing with a roster that's short up to five players every time their parent club goes on the road? and if parent clubs have to allow time for testing protocols, how much earlier do players have to leave their class aaa city to join the club ahead of their charter flight for their roadtrip? i believe that mlb was hoping that enough teams would meet the 85% threshold of fully vaccinated tier 1 personnel by tomorrow's start of the minor league season--which would allow for individual players to resort to commercial travel from class aaa cities to major league cities--just like we were accustomed to prior to the pandemic. but, as i said, i haven't seen any reports of taxi squads being eliminated officially. Yea I'm sure not what is going on because guys like Dylan Cozens, Zach Brown, Cooper Hummel, etc must be on the taxi squad, reason I say this is because none of them are on Nashville's roster right now.
  5. Damnit, I was hoping Weigel gets the start tomorrow... But McCalvy said bullpen swap, guess we'll see.
  6. Nottingham was on the 40-man. The issue is he's out of options. Maile isn't. Also, I do not believe you can rescind the DFA process once it's begun. Yea I don't believe so.
  7. No kidding! Can we take back the DFA!
  8. The guys on the 40-man who are not on the major league roster who would be in contention are Bettinger (Was hurt in ST, I think he's back now though), Lauer and Weigel. They could add someone (Zimmermann, Godley, Brown etc), but the 40-man is full and I don't think they'll want to drop someone until they have to. If it wasn't in the midst of a long stretch of games without off days I would've said Suter + bullpen. Which is still a possibility ofc. So all things considered I would expect Lauer. But it's hard to say since we don't know how anyone has looked at the alternate site. Perhaps Lauer has continued to struggle and then it probably won't be him. But he has only a few games worth of being terrible with the Brewers, and 250 IP worth of being an adequate bottom of the rotation starter before that, so as bad as he's looked I'd still value the latter higher. That is, unless the shoulder issues he had last year are still lingering. My vote would be for Weigel. I like his upside the best of those available. Big dude, several pitches he can throw for strikes, mid to upper 90s velocity. Not real sure if they see him as more of a reliever now, though. Agreed, would love to see Weigel take Anderson's rotation spot for now... Gotta see what we have in this kid... I see him as a starter yet... He's started 74 of 86 games he's pitched in for his minor league career so far.
  9. Gotta imagine minor league rosters will be set pretty soon? Minor league OD is 5/3 or 5/4 I believe.
  10. Baez is a terrible hitter, swings at everything. Good, I can't stand him.
  11. Doesnt Wainwright throw about as hard as Hendricks? How did that work out for Kest yesterday. He's gotta figure it out, we need his bat!
  12. I don't see how Hiura batting leadoff would be of any help right now. Before today, Cain has been in the 6 spot... Let Hiura K down there.
  13. Hiura probably belongs at the ATS site. He’s not going to last two more weeks as a starter if he keeps striking out at a 50% clip Right, will be interesting to see how CC/Stearns handle Keston.
  14. Right on cue Keston misses a grounder that somehow results in a throwing error on Robertson for backing up the misplay. In his defense, that was a tough one to field.
