  1. Once again the Dwight/Jim stuff was classic. Very well done, sneezing with his eyes open and peeing in a soda bottle while doing expense reports. Hilarious.
  2. DeJesus could be a older version of Tony Gwynn. I would trade Hart for DeJesus and another player in a heartbeat. To say DeJesus is an older TGJ is not correct in my opinion. Look at the numbers he put up last season for KC: .307/.366/.452 that is an OPS of 818. That is darn good for a CF who bats leadoff. TGJ could never put up that OPS. DeJesus had 12 HR as well last year and drove in 73. I would love that in the leadoff spot. And he is only 28.
  3. I'm more willing to trade Fielder then Hardy for pitching. Hardy has gotten better each of the last two seasons at HR, SLG and OBP. And he was our best hitter in the playoffs. I want to keep him around at SS or 3B if he is willing when Escobar comes up.
  4. I suppose if he has a year close to the September he had for us it would almost be a bargain. He has the stuff to be a good late inning guy. Not sure what his problem was in Cincy.
  5. Although I do think they can convince JJ to move to third, where he will be just as good. Agreed, not that Hardy is in their category but A-Rod and Ripken did the same thing and were fine. I'm sure JJ can do it and he can produce enough on offense to be a 3B. Plus the idea of how good the defense would be on that side of the infield with JJ and Escobar would be awesome.
  6. I guess it really does not surprise me. As much as this state loves the Brewers and supported them this season, it will probably always be a Packers first state. That just seems to be reality. I love the Packers to, but to me Brewers and baseball will always be #1. I watched the Brewers even after Suppan blew it but I did turn on the Packers during commercial's.
  7. Marissa Miller is quite an attractive lady. I thought the commercial was alright overall.
  8. I am willing to give him one more year. But he should not bat leadoff, he needs to be in the 5-7 spot somewhere.
  9. I'm all go Coffey coming back, but not as closer and not sure he is worth that much. But he as rather good for us.
  10. I have to give Melvin a lot of props for the Todd Coffey signing. He pitched some stellar innings down the stretch and showed he has good stuff to be a big bullpen staple in 2009.
  11. The more I think about it I like the idea of keeping Hardy and moving him to 3B to make way for Alcides at SS in 09' and if you want to move a player for a pitcher move Prince. In his place find a stop gap type player for 1B through free agency or in Brad Nelson and get Gamel ready to play 1B in 2010.
  12. I to am on board with a Bush bobble. He had a good season, is around for at least 2 more years and won our only postseason game. Dude deserves it. As for Suppan, please no. I think Gallardo and Kendall are locks and a 2nd Braun bobble may be possible as well.
  13. Yeah I to had some good times at the park with my Dad this season. We went to 3 games together, including a win on Fathers Day which was special and he got his first bobblehead on Braun bobble day. As the man that taught me baseball growing up and taking me to so many games at County Stadium and him telling me all the stories from back in 81' and 82' time after time, it was nice to share a playoff season together for the Brewers since I was only 3 months old in 82.
  14. I think the best we could offer him is 90 mill over 3 years. We can't afford to offer him the 6 years another team may give him but I think we could do 90 over 3 that is 30 mill a season and you know he could still get another big pay day after 3 years. But I won't hold my breath on that deal.
  15. I know it may be a long shot, but I think even if CC is not back they should make a bobble of him. He was just such a big part of our first postseason in 26 years. If I remember last year brewers.com asked the fans to make suggestions, maybe if enough people do so for CC they will make one. I am looking forward to a Yovani bobble as that seems the biggest lock of all.
  16. I won't throw any fits if Sveum is retained. I do hope if he is though the contract is for no longer then 2 years. I don't think a guy who manged 12 games and 4 postseason games deserves a longer deal then that. Either way I hope they explore all options and if there is a Manager out there with a proven track record who they feel could get the most out of a young club then I hope they go with him. It will be interesting and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
  17. Yeah that Braun one was huge. I won't soon forget where I was and what I was doing when I heard Uecker make that call. It still gives me goosebumps when I hear it and I'm sure it will for a long time.
  18. I'm fine with Melvin coming back. He has made good and bad choices. No GM is perfect, if he does go though I would give the job to Jack Z. He has earned that and I'm not sure there is a better GM out there anyway. I think I'm more concerned to what they do with Manager, I wouldn't curse the move if Sveum was given the job but I hope they search for a guy who has a proven record and who they feel might be able to get the absolute most out of young players.
  19. Not very different from any set of clippers...I cut my own hair throughout high school. Not very difficult. Well it sure looks different then any normal set of hair clippers.
  20. But let say they have Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Suppan and say they re-sign CC or trade/sign for another #2 type starter. Then wouldn't you give McClung a shot to close? I would take him over Suppan in the rotation but there is no way Suppan is going anywhere or going to be put in the pen.
  21. Even though we won only 1 game and only played 4 total. Getting to see the Brewers, the team I love more then any other in any sport finally play in the postseason was one of the most fun (and maybe frustrating) things that has ever happened to me. I even took vacation days from work Wed, Thur and Fri this week to fully enjoy all the games. I like davego could get used to this, it was awesome. I can't wait till 2009.
  22. He isn't always wild the first few innings. Sometimes yes, but if he can work on that throughout the spring he has closer stuff and I think should be given a chance.
  23. I think they can go 200, but it will depend on pitch counts. I think no matter what happens both guys should be very good in 2009. Gallardo I have no doubt about and Parra as long as he throws strikes should be good as well. Looking forward to both in 2009. Can't wait, to long away though.
  24. I have to disagree, I'm going with the Rays or Dodgers. Those are the two teams left that I like.
  25. and McClung (who may also be the best potential closer). I know this is a Hardy thread, but I have to touch on that. If not other starting options are available I would give Seth a shot. But I think he deserves more of a shot to close. He has all the making of a closer. He throws very hard 94-98mph, has a nice breaking ball and can mix in a change. All that plus the fact he is very intense and a little intimidating on the mound I think unless they get some proven closer he gets the first shot even if Torres comes back. That way Torres can setup and pitch where ever he is needed throughout a game. My vote is Seth McClung for closer in 2009.
