  1. I really wish Gallardo would have started this game. I just don't have much faith in Suppan. I wish I did, but I don't.
  2. Prince needs to step his game up. Fast.
  3. I was so happy when the Cubs lost. I would imagine we have bragging right now, we at least won a playoff game. The Cubs were picked to go to if not win the World Series by so many baseball "experts" so it is awesome that they couldn't even win 1 game. They have already gone one century without a title, whats one more? It so DIDN'T happen.
  4. Very happy with Escobar over Dillon as the choice here. Dillon has done nothing as a pinch hitter this season. I have much more faith in Escobar and he gives us that late inning pinch runner if needed.
  5. I was very hard on Dave earlier in the year. But I could never deny his great stuff and he carries a fantastic WHIP. The HR and the "big inning" have always been his problem. When he channels them he is damn good. No doubt he will be in the rotation next season. What an awesome performance by him last night. I will never forget it.
  6. I think it's becoming quite clear that at least one of Fielder or Hart will be moved in the coming 13 months or so, possibly this offseason. Gamel likely ends up playing the position of whichever one is moved. 3B really doesn't sound like it will/would be a serious option for him regardless. So if we keep Prince and trade Hart and Gamel moves to the OF. Do we put him in LF and have Braun in RF? I think Braun has the OF ability now and the arm to do that if needed. Not sure how good Gamel would be thrown into playing RF right away.
  7. If Jim Skaalen doesn't pound into these hitters heads to take the ball the other way and they don't do it I might lose it.
  8. So if we sing Hardy and move him to 3B to make room for Escobar at SS what do we do with Gamel? 1B or corner OF?
  9. I know some people don't believe in that kind of stuff. But I do and I think a win today puts pressure on the Phillies to not have it go to a 5th game and that is when we steal game 4 at home. Then it's all on CC again and this time he will come through. The Brewers won't make this easy on us, but did they ever this season? Hell, did the 82 team? Nope. Lets do this Brewers!
  10. Sorry I will not have to trade the Barrel Man for a voucher and towel.
  11. I just can't imagine why anyone would want Braun back at 3B. He made a ton of errors at 3B and already in hist first season ever playing the OF is an above average LF who I believe will one day win gold gloves in the OF. He was toward the top of the list in OF assists and made numerous highlight catches. Yes he had that awful play in Chicago that should have been an error but man his future looks very good out in LF. I would love it if we could swing trades for DeJesus and Beltre. Do your magic Doug!
  12. BrewCrew25, if razzorsharp can't come up with the extra voucher and towel I will trade the Barrel Man to you. If you let me know you have it first razzor we can do the deal since you responded first.
  13. "Prototypical lead-off hitter" I see that thrown around all the time. Whenever it gets talked about we always see a bunch of slap hitters brought up. Some fictional high OBP guy with speed. To heck with a prototypical lead-off hitter. Just get the best player that we can for each position and worry about the rest later. That is why I really want to trade for David DeJesus. He is a perfect leadoff guy and just a slap hitter ala Juan Pierre. His numbers last year .307/.366/.452 with 12 HR and 73 RBI. I would love him in CF and batting 1st. I also am with colbyjack on exploring Beltre as a stop gap for Gamel at 3B. Otherwise if Texas does not pick up his option or decides to trade Hank Blalock as an option at 3B.
  14. http://blogs.jsonline.com...3/goodies-for-game-3.aspx People will get a rally towel and a voucher for a DVD highlighting the 2008 team. If anyone will have extra's of these I would trade a Barrel Man bobblehead for them. Let me know.
  15. Kendall is fine, however whoever the Manager is next season should start Rivera a little more then Yost/Sveum did. But no doubt Jason should get the vast majority of starts at catcher. His defense is to valuable.
  16. I don't think it was a mistake. Sheets had no injury history whatsoever and was coming off a fantastic 2004 season. It was the right thing at that time. It was the first sign that Attanasio wanted to build a winner and we were done just trading all our good players away. I would do it all over again.
  17. Cubs and their fans are in the same boat as us, and they were expected to do a lot more. The bullpen has been awesome in 2 postseason games. If we win 2 home games, CC pitches with revenge on his mind and full rest in game 5.
  18. Between those comments and Corey's "were more relaxed on the road, it feels like a home game in Philly" comments Corey has gone down a few notches in my book. I have said if before, if we can trade him for DeJesus do it Doug!
  19. I think if we lose CC and Ben which is likely, we need to go out and sign or trade for at least a #2 type starter to throw into the rotation with Yo, Manny, Dave and Jeff. I think McClung and Cappy should be in the pen. I would try Seth as the closer or at least 8th inning guy. He has that late inning stuff.
  20. Interesting post below I saw on mlbtraderumors.com: Back in July, most writers assumed the Brewers would not sign C.C. Sabathia after the season. However, ESPN's Buster Olney is saying there's a chance: Others in the Brewers' organization say Milwaukee owner Mark Attanasio will try to make it very difficult for Sabathia to leave -- maybe to the point of risking a colossal mistake. You have to figure the Brewers will at least make their best offer to Sabathia. They'll get a shot at him before he hits the open market - before the bidding war. If the Brewers let Ben Sheets and Eric Gagne leave, that's $21MM right there. Guillermo Mota clears another $3.35MM. Non-tendering Chris Capuano would wipe out another $3.75MM. That is $28MM off the books for C.C. in '09. A six or seven-year deal for Sabathia would surely hamper the Brewers down the road, but it cannot be ruled out.
  21. The Cubs being down 0-2 like us sure eases my pain. And honestly I think we have a better chance then them of coming back to win the series. And they are not just losing, they are getting taken to the woodshed. Us Brewers fans think Hart sucks right now, he could be Fukudome.
  22. Got the playoffs thermabase hoodie at Kohls today. Its sweet, I just hope the players get to wear them for awhile yet.
