  1. Top 25 would be big reach but after year he had in AA & being top 5 pick.... he’d be top 75 if not top 50. A top 5 pick bouncing back and nearly having 30/30 season.... Dont know how he’d not be on list. Can’t tell me there are 100 other players with his explosive tools and ceiling. He was hurt and aggressively placed. Seems little unfair to knock him that extremely for that
  2. The Cordero news was listed earlier in this thread, and Adam Rygg (@BrewerNation) noted this Instagram post from Fox. Shame about Fox. Someone mentioned him the other day as a bounce back. Solid pitcher if he could have ever got on mound. Injuries kill
  3. Think we all know the tiers of our roster: Giannis is legit top 5 player in league right now Middleton, Bledsoe, Lopez are all borderline all-stars who on any given night Robin with Giannis Brogdon may not be on that level but he is about as valuable as it gets as a role piece. Great defender, doesn’t turn over ball, scores. He is definition of a team player & does make this team better. Losing him wouldn’t break us but he does make team better. Arguing if he is 2nd best or 5th best is useless... doesn’t matter. if you can’t see his value & how good & solid of a player he is, then I strongly question your analysis. The Fact you bring up advanced metrics to almost discredit Brogdon is questionable Brodgen advanced numbers 59% effective shooting 3rd to Giannis & Wilson 62% true shooting 2nd to Giannis 12.0 Player impact estimate 3rd to Giannis & Bledsoe 19.4 Usage percent 4th 101.7 Defensive rating higher than Bledsoe & Middleton 111.3 Offensive Rating is below The big 4 & right next to DJ Wilson. Again clearly Brogdon isn’t better than Bledsoe Middleton Lopez.... but him & Wilson are absolutely key to this team. Wilson is an advanced metrics stud right now! However in no way is he quicker than Malcolm nor does Bledsoe always take top guard. Brogdon’s 6’4 & defensive ability match him up much better vs other teams top guard very often. Bud matches them up to match strengths. Bledsoe is smaller but extremely quick & explosive. Brogdon bigger, longer, not as fast twitch. Bledsoe will take Curry, Brogdon Thompson type deal. The core of this team right now is 6 players with solid bench help with guys like Snell, Hill, Ersan, & Pat. Donte, Thon, and Brown have their nights. They play deep team ball with great rotation put in place by Bud.
  4. How about a major sleeper in a hopefully healthy Drew Rasmussen? Loads of talent. Could be a guy who makes huge jump in rankings if healthy
  5. Over Pina? Only if Pina is traded. I think that is a real possibility with Kratz back & Nottingham looking like he deserves a real shot. Spring will tell. Rumors have been out there with interest in Pina. Stearns I think is waiting to play spring out. With Grandal, Pina very expendable. Plus you hopefully groom Nottingham to take over if Grandal option doesn’t work out after this season. Think he is a point where we should find out what we have with him. Could see a trade Pina, keep Kratz, and Nottingham starts in AAA. Kratz doesn’t perform & Nottingham hitting, they make switch in June
  6. One posters face probably lite up with sunshine & smiles before remembering he was on 40 man Nottingham had big season last year & had his coffee. Think Brewers are still very high on him. Stock in no way is down. Could see him winning 2nd catcher spot in Spring
  7. Beat me to the punch line Saw title & was coming to post it lol
  8. Hackett’s numbers this season before he got fired when they had Fournette were Top 5 in scoring & yards... terrible when he was gone & had to rely on Bortles to run offense. That was case in 2017 as well. Lucky for him is while he doesn’t have the absolute horse of Leonard, he can be creative with ARod & find ways for Williams & Jones to be very effective. No coach is going to be able to do great when offense is all on a Bortles type QB Sounds like he may be OC & QBs coach as well
  9. Boyle is the future! One of those 90s Brunell, Hassellback, Brooks guys.... feel it
  10. Brewers have been aggressively placing players since Flanagan took over. Put the kids in sink or swim mode for two months until rookie ball starts. If they perform great! If they struggle then they can go back down & figure it out. Turang was outstanding at both levels. See zero excuse for him not to be at Wisconsin. That is why it is believed he is slated for Wisconsin Never get caught up in position & being blocked. Teams are creative for making sure the most talented players are getting plenty of reps at top position. From DH games, working at other positions and etc. Teams have priority players like Turang who will get majority of game innings but others will get there games as all. Worst case scenario is players like Howell develop ton of versatility... never a bad thing
  11. Awesome article on Matt & his thoughts on offense & much more https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/nfl/titans/2018/08/09/titans-matt-lafleur-qanda-nfl-marcus-mariota-rexrode-packers-preseason/927182002/
  12. I wouldn’t worry about Titan performance.... can’t turn water to wine unless you are JC. Mariota was banged up most of year but managed to complete 69% of his passes & ran for 350 yards. Best Receiver/TE Walker missed whole season. Corey Davis made strides but still not there yet, rest of WRs are extremely meh. Offensive line was terrible in pass pro. He did install zone scheme & drastically improved run game to 7th in NFL. He used Dion Lewis well & he ended up with 60 catches I believe. He woke up Henry finally and got him rolling big at end of year. It’s hard for first year OC when talent is eh, you have injuries, and have a QB you need to adjust offense around. Mariota isn’t an arm talent. He is a mobile game manager. Shorter passes, make some plays on the go but isn’t a big down field guy. Knowing what he had, he had to run a lot. If Henry would have found it before last 3-4 games... season could have looked a lot different
  13. Like the hire. Wonder if he is going to steal his little brother away from Kyle Shanahan. Mike is currently WR coach & pass game coordinator. Not to be OC but just be on staff. Sounds like he is a solid coach as well. From reports Pettine will be staying to continue to fix the defense. I think that is right call. Rough first year for him having to deal with with injuries hampering much of the D & an extremely young & I experienced secondary.
  14. Going off statcast he’s been a top 20 performer over past 3 years. He hasn’t made many many 5 star plays or had many opportunities but he is completely locked down after 25%. I’m surprised how few opportunities he has had over the past 3 years. In 17’ when he started much of the season he finished 11. I like statcast data for OFs just because it shows you the range & how good they are at tracking balls and making really tough plays. Broxton is elite at 4 star plays compared to even the best out there. He is 2nd tier at 5 star plays. Cain is elite in all of these. 12th in 16, 4th in 17, and 3rd in 18 overall in ratings. Inciate is really the standard every year. 5 star (0 - 25% probability) 5 of 33 15% 4 star (25-50% probability) 20 of 24. 83% 3 star (51-75% probability) 25 of 28. 89% 2 star (76-90% probability) 28 of 30. 93% 4 star (91-100% probability)31 of 33 94% Total: 119 of 138 86% Now there is a lot more to defensive metrics than ability to run down balls... I get that but with limited opportunities he has had an average of 9 out above average. He’s a good amount above expected % and actual catch%.... this season he crashed everyone with catch percent added with 12%.... I dont know, to me, hard to call him average.
  15. Sadly no. That’s not so much a ding on Taylor but Broxton is pretty elite. Not many OFs in the game that have the range, speed, jumps he has. His 1.6 WAR essentially all from defense shows that. Taylor is solid though, he has always been considered a good OF.
  16. Kind of disappointed there will be no interview, at least as of right now for Kris Richards. Think he has a lot of the tangibles for a head coach & im a big fan of him
  17. At same time you want to get it right. It’s no different than hiring someone to an important person for your business. You want best one. They are professionals, they can handle 6 interviews in 3 days. Gute interviews people all day, everyday for week at combine. Then they make a board of over 300 players. You take your notes but if you have interviewed anyone. You know the ones you want. Take the 2-3 that blew u away and give 2nd interview
  18. Sounds like a Rodriquez & Valerio will be a fun top of order we may see soon
  19. Savior Mertz put on a clinic while breaking passing records in the US Army All-American game! Even Patrick Mahomes tweeted about him! The hype on this kid couldn’t get any higher! Almost feel bad for Chryst. You know he is going to role with his favorite & senior but every snap Mertz isn’t in there, fans will turn on him. Hope he is the real deal. Badgers need a top notch QB finally
  20. Guessing Hill was another guy there were very high on in draft but was taken before they could get him. When you are a competitive team but still have ability to make deals like this to bring in 1 possible Knebel type RP prospects and two promising lottery tickets, that is always nice. Need to keep prospect stable growing even when competitive This deal reminds me of Lind trade except quicker return with Wahl.
  21. LeFluer is tough to get read on. How much of his success & status is built on Shanahan & McVay? Both considered two of the top offensive minds in game. His only time he has been the man was this year but with a bad pass protection line, lack of weapons at WR/TE, and adjusting offense for an inferior passing QB doesn’t help get a read. He did change blocking scheme & greatly improved run game. MM had terrible track record as OC but had head coach intangibles. It’s hard not being around them as coaches to know which ones have that “it factor” Many of the best O & D minds struggle to be able to head coach. It’s a completely different mind & skillset
  22. Huge game tonight, Bucks have been really hot & they well be rested with no one playing more than 20 minutes (or at least barely over). Raptors are a team that has been a thorn for many years so hopefully we can keep swinging that trend. Also there is a lot of talk about Giannis for MVP but even as great as he has been... Harden has been unreal. Giannis is almost “held” back because he has a really nice supporting cast that helps with scoring & winning. He doesn’t need to score 35 to 40 a game and doesn’t. Think he is definitely 2nd right now but Harden really needs to dip a little bit.
  23. As of now I assume Turang will remain level ahead of Howell so you have to worry about SS reps. Howell will continue to grow versatility by playing all over diamond & build worth there. Turang messed with his swing his senior to add power and caused him to struggle a bit more for a guy all scouts had been saying is top player in class since he was a freshman. However, there is a reason he was talked like that & he showed that last year in pros. To me he is Trae Turner & like Trae, power may never be big part of game but that’s fine. Howell is intriguing but as of right now like said above... Turang has to prove he can’t hit & Howell has to excel. If not Turang will always have the prestige
  24. Well Josh Allen’s performance Vs Penn State today shows that Packers will need to move into top 5 to get him. Another 3 sacks & 3 tfls. Guy is a freak. I honestly think it’s pretty close between Bosa & Allen for top edge rusher
  25. I researched him a lot the other day. I like him but wish he could have done more to stand out this year. Can’t fault him really Tennessee didn’t give him great weapons to work with until Henry woke up from 1 1/2 year nfl nap. A guy can have all the x & o knowledge in world but it all comes down to how he manages a team, lockerroom & players. Gase’s biggest knock is he picked favorites & was willing to lose with them ( things I’ve read about his firing & how players won’t miss him). McVay is special beyond offensive mind. He is a fiery passionate guy that all his players buy into. If he just had x & os he’d be on chopping block. Hard part for team is to decide who has that leadership quality. Who will everyone buy into & follow. Gase I love for x & os, same with McDaniels. Lefleur same boat. Which of them can build the army in locker room to go out & win for them? Campbell I think has that part but not the brilliant football mind. To me that’s fine as long as he hires a guy who does. Easy to hire a great mind to call plays for a true leader than to have a great play caller try to figure out how to lead whole team
