  1. Best case is precautionary. Velo was down. Struggling. Staff saw the wince and just said let's not push it. As long as he is back for the playoffs, this is alright. A 4-5-week injury with time to make one start in late Sept would be fine.
  2. I saw the O/U as 6.5...would totally take the over on that. I think the Brewers have Flaherty's number....plus, Cards seem to have the lineup that might be able to wait out Freddy. We will see. Hope the Crew wins 8-2.
  3. Sometimes I think Williams is a little too reluctant on that fastball.
  4. Went the other way nicely on a pitch like that last AB after getting on one looking the previous one. That was was just too far out...make it easy, Devin. Please?
  5. Yelich just looks like a totally different guy with men on base. He's showing signs. Sort of feel like one big hit might unlock something.
  6. If you keep the ball in the park and make timely pitches, you can do well on the mound. That is what Wainwright is doing. Walking guys only when he has to be careful, giving up a lot of early in the count singles and doubles. Bearing down when he needs to.
  7. Somehow, the Cubs escape the 7th with a 2-1 lead.
  8. They had a chance to blow the game open in the 4th but left the bases loaded. Loaded with 1 out and Yelich was called out on strikes. Yup. As someone's said, Wainwright has made pitches when he's needed to.
  9. Well, the Cubs appear ready to fall apart in Cincy. Probably needed a CG from Hendricks...
  10. Well, technically it's the "heart of the order," so not every place. But the 2nd inning is also sponsored. It's pretty crazy.
  11. Agree. Though you should hear the Cubs broadcast. Places in the batting order have sponsors...
  12. I mean, if the Reds go 33-10, what are you gonna do? They'll have earned it. Even in that scenario, 27-16 gets it done for the Brewers, and that's definitely possible.
  13. Pirates are starting Dillon Peters. Mediocre career numbers in MLB (to put it generously) and in the minors. Has pitched well in like 11 innings at the Pirates AAA affiliate, though.
  14. Any word on tomorrow's starting pitchers? Guessing Lauer throws to let Peralta, Burnes, Woody go against the Cards and then Reds?
  15. Reds loss is big today. Takes a lot of pressure off for me. Tough set up with Anderson and Ashby. Still, obviously like to stick at 8 up after today. Get the pitcher here, and turn the lineup over.
  16. On the bright side, Phils up 1-0 on Cincy. So many games left. Just keep winning series. Even going 25-20, someone's gonna have to burn up the schedule to beat you. And, if they do, give 'em credit.
  17. I mean, it's Topa's second outing... Cousins, Strickland, Box, Williams, and Hader have all been good to great. Throw in Suter and you've got a really solid 6. It's hard to sweep double-headers. And the Crew is throwing two of their worse pitchers. Happens. Clean it up, get the Phillies a win, take game two, and call it a tread water day. Agreed. It was more meant as a comment on our two latest additions along with topa. Got it. I thought you meant back end of bullpen. Same page. My mistake.

  19. I think the Crew has more runs in them, but I might be fairly quick to go to, say, Strickland here soon...
