  1. Between Wong and Urias, it's maybe time to start sitting guys when they go to the place their careers began. Rest Yelich in Miami. Blue.
  2. Lots of hitters have looked lost against Musgrove this year. I worry much more about Hiura swinging through belt-high fastballs.
  3. He has good ABs. Even when he makes outs, it's clear to me (beyond just fatigue) why he was the choice over Arcia.
  4. Not that anyone needs to hear this, but baseball is weird. If this were a basketball game, the Padres would be up 12, haha. Feels like we're gonna have steal one, honestly (but team's steal games all the time).
  5. [dl][/dl] Fine with this if it truly is FOR NOW. No need to push Hader, especially after few ST appearances and in just his what? 4th appearance of the year? If this is still the prevailing logic post-ASB, though, I'll think some serious value has been wasted.
  6. Yeah, I thought this too. I suppose they didn't want to put JP in a spot where he had to throw a strike, but this might have been the way to go.
  7. Tough loss. Never felt like one we "should" have won, but definitely had chances. Moran made big swings. After 15 games, Brewers are about where I thought they'd be. Considering the IL right now, I'll take it. Hoping for a split road trip, and then Yeli and Wong can come back.
  8. If you believed someone else could clean through the top of the Pirates order, then yes. Maybe a double switch with Narvaez if you want to push Hader.
  9. I think you hope Hader can at least pitch to one guy in the 10th. Getting a K changes the whole picture that much that I'd do that pending an efficient 9th.
  10. What a play from Newmann there....wow. Back to even! Let's get back to that last AB win feeling.
  11. Thought it looked like Manny had something grab on him on that check swing. Hope I'm wrong.
  12. They only had Hader throw more than 1 inning once last season (and it was 1.1 IP). They haven’t had him throw more than 1.1 IP since September 7, 2019. I hope they are still open to it, but I’m getting the feeling the days of him going 2 or more innings are likely forever over. Yeah, this very well could be, maybe barring some massive, do-or-die type scenario. I'm honestly not sure I'd want him to in April. But I do hope it's on the table generally just based on the value added. I certainly doubt he drops any more three inning saves. But I'd be up for letting him get 4-5 outs when well-rested and with offdays in sight.
  13. Feels like a day Hader may have to go more than one to get a W. We'll see. Looks like the ball is jumping pretty good.
  14. Brisk, easy win. Team has been slightly better than I hoped for out of the gate, especially considering all the IL trips.
  15. Urias has probably cost Anderson a dozen pitches tonight. But that's probably the worst thing I can say about this game so far.
  16. The split between the guy's BA and OPS right now is crazy. If you ever wanted an example of how AVG can lie, it's him right now. Wild.
  17. For a guy who struggles with control, Perdomo has commanded pitches when he's really needed it tonight. Might be ready for a leverage bump...
  18. Thought tonight would be the toughest pitching matchup, so I hope that hokds true?
